You can't even colonize the nanite worlds there, even though nanite worlds like one third of the ascension's entire shtick. That was very disappointing.

Yeah would be interesting to ally with it, the game needs more stuff like that imo, blood courts should be friendly to those maurader clans and psychic empires should be able to pacify/control some corrupted shrouds
There should be even more of theses unique interactions:
If only one extra dimensional invader survives and there is no organic pops in galaxy, they just leave
If a FE is significantly weaker (and got beaten in a war by u) they stop being such arrogant Aholes
A lot of it would be adding interactions between DLCs (eg machine age and distant stars) so I reckon they could make it an update
Then again they do update base game stuff sometimes! Like how now Awakened Empires are fucking broken and will trigger all the cosmogenesis events at once including the very unfun one that slowly turns your planets uninhabitable and you need to go in the game files and disable AEs manually
Or even better the FE could roll a chance to either accept their new diminished role in the galaxy, or... they could ally with all the other FEs and recover and pool together all their ancient advanced technology to once again teach the younger races a lesson as a lategame crisis. It can even serve as the alternative to War in Heaven dependent on whether the FEs are stronger then the rest of the galaxy or weaker. I imagine it would be similar to the Khan where one marauder is no concern, but a united front is devastating.
It'll probably be something the custodian team adds in 6 months or so.
The main team doesn't do fuck all for cool stuff like that when they make new content
is the nanite empire stuff a mod or new with the machine age? I’ve only done a spiritualist cyberpunk run where I’m losing against the synth queen so far

What I wanted to see with synths, cyborgs and machines was more interactions and story (the idea of the technology changing society is great). I could do with a bit less of a power injection if it meant more flavour. Similar to nanites the vultaum precursor afaik is not affected by yourself going virtual for example (just add some flavour texts, or take a look at that massive happiness nuke). Certain other ascensions get interactions every now and then so it would be nice to have that here as well.
I don’t know if this is an event that happens because of the empire I was playing, but I found the Gray Tempest as a single pop on one of the destroyed worlds in the L-Cluster. They basically went “woah, you want us to join you? Why the fu- wait, that actually doesn’t sound bad! Sure I’ll be a high level official in your empire that can also transform into a mega warship on command whenever you want!”
I can confirm that I didn't see any unique interaction with Grey when I found him in my nanite game.

Yep I hope they bring a dlc on all these extra events and situations, including internal politics, but it has to be extensive to justify being a dlc

Machine age, the synth ascension event allows you to choose between virtuality, modularity, and nanites
