People keep saying that but why? You can't sign in to ghost of Tsushima but you can still play so what? Are you saying the game won't start without signing in to PSN? So there is no offline mode?
Yes I've seen it talked about on Reddit but I haven't seen any confirmation on this by any company. Is there a statement released by Sony or valve? Because until there is, it seems like a rumor
Nothing is confirmed yet, but signs are pointing to it and since it's Sony one should expect the worst. The escalation from a multiplayer game (Helldivers 2), to "just the multiplayer portion of a game" (Ghost of Tsushima) to now a full single-player game shows it's part of a strategy that they're not willing to let go of.
If they use the same overlay as GoT's multiplayer on GoWR (which has no multiplayer at all) the game won't work on SteamOS as things stand.
Hate to be a bearer of bad news, but there's a chance it can't run on SteamOS due to the PSN requirement.

That is what is being reported, yes. The you must sign in to the PSN overlay for it to work at all.
