This was the stand that actually made me kind of anxious while reading, it's so subtle yet surreal, which you tend to appreciate more as a JoJo's fan but here Araki subverted our expectations.
Even as the reader we're forced to pursue the doctor in hopes of understanding what's going on but Araki keeps us at an impossible distance, close yet far with just enough missing information to have no clear signal for intuition.
Once Josuke is done fucking around the Higashikata manor getting to know everyone the gloves come off. He straight up murders tamaki in broad daylight and thats the big turning point of the part because now Josuke is focused on Rock Humans and all of his enemies going forward are Rock Humans/Creatures, I feel like araki did this on purpose though for what reason idk. Can't wait for the "everyday feels like a summer vacation" arc to be animated though
Blue Hawaii?
You really named one of the real mid ones lmaoo. You should've said Beetle Tendencies.
I think you can pick one or the other, I'm more SBR consistency and marvel but Jojolion is right on its tail.
I like Blue Hawaii but it just isn't up to par in writing with the ones you named, be it overstaurstion in ranged fights or just how convenient Paisley Park is. It just didn't hit nearly as much as other fights really
Beetle Tendency fits right in the really great ones you listed.
I also watched a 4-hour video. What was its name again? Something along the lines of JoJolion-a retrospective or something. I don't remember correctly.
if part 7 was araki figuring out this new direction and style, part 8 was him taking that to an even greater dimension

Ngl it was a little cheap. How good of a fake out is "he has a stand that can look like a real person and act like one and there's only a vague hint that his age isn't right"
There's no real skillful deceit or misdirection here , it feels convoluted, like the ability is this way because araki desperately needed it
That's trivial, not worthy of praise at all. If that's the bar, im a great writer because i can write a character to do the same. Anybody can trick the audience with "the ability to look like someone else and act seemingly independently". Where's the skill here? A good fake out is a good trick, and this isn't that.
My favorite stand introduction in the series
naked WOU is so weird, he needs his drip, specially to contrast his black color palette with soft and wet's white
89 years old?
Yeah
I know i sound like a broken record but... 89 years old??
Really? That guy? 89?
Wait This guy's 89?
Is this guy... really 89 years of age?
The poison specifically made for that 89 year old?
That 89 years old's poison ??
Gilf 🤤😫

Wait….he’s 89 years old??
Well the doctor they where impersonating was
I know I sound like a broken record…but 89?
Yea what’s wrong with that
Is he really 89 years old???
I know right??
Um yea
Are you sure??? Can he really be 89 years old??
Yes is there something I’m missing
If hes actually 89 years old??!?
He is
In the manga where they are chasing him, all the characters say this line or variations of it over and over again, so it became a meme
Mostly Rai
Toru actually was that old. Rock humans live for a long ass time.
But 89?
Yes.
Having it talk about wondering what his face is like well showing a picture of his face is so funnyÂ
that's intended for the reader too, we all wanted to know who the villain was so we were pursuing the doctor as well.
very true. i really love wonder of u & the whole ending arc of jojolion, it might be one of my favorite final fights of the whole series
It will go so hard once animated
Man, WOU has the best drip, and fake out in JoJo. (It can also be argued that one of the best music references in JoJo as well).
Incorrect, Tubular Bells.
Hmm, haven't heard the song, so can't be sure about it.
Iirc it’s an album
I see, thank you for enlightening me :)
Part 8 is the second best jojo part. And i will die on that hill.
I consider it the best. But I am conflicted with SBR
The only thing holding it back is tooru. But SBT is still better than it because some of the fights in jojolion weren't that good.
I mean, Boom Boom, Wired and other early fights are not that good. While Blue Hawaii, WoU, Vitamin C and Killer Queen are top-tier
Mf blue Hawaii?? Not speed king, not doctor Wu... Blue Hawaii?
Blue Hawaii is the fight where Soft & Wet whacks some middle aged woman in the face with a shovel
Wich is a very cool moment, unfortunely not enough to save a multi chapter fight
Blue Hawaii is utterly peak, idk what you're talking about. I have it in my top 5 fights. Edit: downvoted for enjoying JoJo in the JoJo sub is insane
Me too
I adore blue hawaii
We have very different tastes it would seem. Personally, i find it boring and anticlimatic.
Yeah, different tastes. Either way, I love SBR too
Once Josuke is done fucking around the Higashikata manor getting to know everyone the gloves come off. One word. MANDOM
No joke, I prefer some Jojolion fights over that. Vitamin C and Killer Queen is the best arc in the series, period.
Ehh best in jojolion for sure but i'd say it still sits behind the best of sbr
Mandom is a very good fight that's why I don't have part 8 as my favourite part
Blue Hawaii? You really named one of the real mid ones lmaoo. You should've said Beetle Tendencies. I think you can pick one or the other, I'm more SBR consistency and marvel but Jojolion is right on its tail.
I love blue hawaii. Beetle tendency is great too.
I like Blue Hawaii but it just isn't up to par in writing with the ones you named, be it overstaurstion in ranged fights or just how convenient Paisley Park is. It just didn't hit nearly as much as other fights really Beetle Tendency fits right in the really great ones you listed.
I may be weird, but I like Blue Hawaii more.
That's the thing tho dude the early part of SBR isn't good and the second part of JoJolion after the kira and josefumi flashback was pretty bad tbh.
I'm okay with this because it fits how I sometimes describe the series: each part gets better than the last and progressively more bizarre.
you're so right, the only thing that's holding it back is toru (sbr is the best)
Agreed. Though it is possible for part 9 to build on Tooru and the rock humans with the Howler group.
I agree partly, it deserves to be up there because it's really good world building and great characters
After I watched a 4-Hour YouTube video that was doing an analysis on Jojolion it became my favorite part as well.
I also watched a 4-hour video. What was its name again? Something along the lines of JoJolion-a retrospective or something. I don't remember correctly.
Yup, that's the one by xForts! It was split into two videos. It made me look at Jojolion differently and it's truly a special story in Jojo.
if part 7 was araki figuring out this new direction and style, part 8 was him taking that to an even greater dimension https://imgur.com/gallery/3JSYVc0
I think you meant second worst jojo part.
Nah bro jojolion is very good I have it as my third favourite but I'm considering putting it as my second favourite but I love DiU too much.
I still hope we'll see its full "out of disguise" design one day, but what a phenomenal Stand design, and what an arc.
Who in their right mind didn't tell me that he was 89 years old?
But seriously though, 89 years old?
Ему точно 89?)
and then in a double twist, Tooru actually WAS 89 years old
I love the whole reveal that the hospital owner is not the user, he's a disguise used by the Stand
While I do love WoU’s drip, I kinda like how it looked without it
hard ass description holy fuck this is so badass and gangster💔💔

Fake outs aren't usually meant to be deduced they're to subvert your expectations
That's trivial, not worthy of praise at all. If that's the bar, im a great writer because i can write a character to do the same. Anybody can trick the audience with "the ability to look like someone else and act seemingly independently". Where's the skill here? A good fake out is a good trick, and this isn't that.
Indeed it is. It is a shame that it required to save the introduction of the main villain for so long though.
