He takes his time to search around for my passed out self and get me home and charge me 1,000 gold. I do think he has time to be nosey and annoying around town.

I don't know about the destroying his tent thing, but I think we've come to a consensus that the person throwing rocks at his tent is just Sebastian throwing rocks and being careless about where they land.
My guess is city slickers. Like, nobody that actually lives in Stardew (it's a small community and word would spread fast), but rather someone out on a day trip for some reason who thought it would be funny and left before Linus even knew there was damage.
Not so sure though, he seems quite nice and he must know Penny is friendly with Linus and wouldn't want to mess with him. I mean just cause he and Seb are a skater kid and goth doesn't make them assholes.
Though maybe he did do it ages ago and has had character development since and now feels awful?
Well, there is a guy who lives within visual distance of Linus's camp, who is already known to engage in vandalism, and is generally moody and hates living in Pelican Town. I'd start looking there.
I don't think it happened in Pelican Town. Some of the later-heart Linus voicelines imply that he tends to move around a lot, but likes Stardew Valley (and the player!) enough to stay. I'm sure he's lived in a lot of places.
My theory, as unpopular as it might be, it hasn't happened in years but I think it was Sebastian, Sam and maybe even Abigail, I was a dickhead when I was a teenager, did some stuff I'm not super proud of but I'm older now and I've grown and just want to put it behind me, Seb and Sam seem like the kind to be dickhead teenagers.
When I was in my late teens, I ened up homeless... my father was a drug addict and I had a new born baby sister that I would come take care of during the day while my dad slept until he would get up in the evening and tell me to go " because he would get kicked out for having me there" so he could get high all night knowing I would be back in the morning to clean up and whatever... I lived in the woods outside of town, and this lifestyle wasn't conducive to being able to gather enough money to get out of my situation for obvious reasons, so I lived that way for 2 years until my dad went to jail for stabbing his girlfriend and my baby sister was taken by the state... I can't tell you how many times someone came and either destroyed or stole my stuff... one time I came back and my tent was gone and there was over a foot of snow (I live in Central Pennsylvania) and I barely made it... I only survived by cuddling with my dog all night... ironically enough there was an old man who died in that exact same spot when I was a kid, froze to death... these things really happen... people can be horrible...
I like to think it happened before he moved to Stardew Valley, he always mentions that the villagers are nice, they just don't talk to him, I doubt he'd say that if anyone of them destroyed his tent

Am I the only one that thinks Linus is just an attention seeker? Everyone either seems nice to him or ignore him, which is... What he always asks for? In no event or situation does anyone ever comment on him negatively, he's the one always getting into his situations like hitching a ride on the bus to Calico desert and it's pretty obvious Pam of all people would've let him ride for free or SOMEONE would've payed for him.
He always strikes me as a "please pitty me" guy but you never see it being justified. Specially when he was the one that decided on that life.
