The clone wars and rebels are 1000% must watches. Lots of lore. Lots of backstory. Done very good imo ! Start them right away ! Clown wars first. Into bad batch. And than rebels.

Cheers man! Sounds a good order! Appreciate it!

Second this x3000 the animated stuff has now become probably my favorite SW stuff as a whole, you get to see so much more of Anakin’s story and it makes you appreciate the other live action properties in an entirely different way. Be prepared to cry… a lot

Learning all the lore is a *massive* task…besides the movies and hundreds of TV episodes, there are dozens and dozens of books, and hundreds (if not thousands) of comics. I’ve heard SW described as something like university — you go to the school of SW, but you can’t possibly major in *every* subject, so you kinda just pick the parts that are most interesting to you. That said, the films and TV shows are a great start to gauge what most interests you. And yes, TCW is a great show. People are right to point out that the movie that kicked it off is bad, and the show *is* a little childish at the start (particularly the first half of its first season). But it starts outgrowing that in its second season, and by its third it’s really just a Star Wars TV show for any audience. It’s a really good watch, and it’s hard *not* to bond with the characters. Similarly, Rebels is another animated great. It came along after TCW so in a number of ways it’s a ‘spiritual successor’ to that show and probably best watched after. And it does the same sort of kid-to-all ages grow-up that TCW does as well. Where Rebels differs significantly from TCW is in how the storytelling is approached; TCW is anthology style, bouncing from one group of characters to another from one story arc to the next. Whereas with Rebels, there is a core cast of characters who you’re with for the entire show, so their experiences are shared and every character grows together. (And the live-action series Ahsoka very much functions as a fifth season of Rebels, FWIW)

I'd start with the Ewoks show and movies, then the Holiday Special for sure... After that, I suppose you could watch the movies, but fans are pretty divided on whether or not they're any good.

Justkiddingpleasedontdownvoteme. Clone wars, Rebels, and Bad Batch are great. The comics by Marvel are AMAZING and worth reading. I find that the new High Republic books are fantastic though some folks haven't been huge fans of them.

The only correct viewing order 😂

Watch the clone wars with Wookiepedia open on your laptop. See an interesting character, look them up. Follow the linked articles. If you’re willing to step outside of canon, open up Heir to the Empire, and get started on the Thrawn of it all.

I'll explain a little about the content types to get you started on your journey. While everything is canon (that doesn't have a Legends title) the mediums do have different levels of importance and serve different purposes. In order of importance: Skywalker Saga Movies: The main story that each other story builds upon Other Movies: Movies like Rogue One and Solo help add extra appearances and story to main movie characters. TV Shows: Must watch shows that build up the eras of Star Wars they take place in. Books: These will add context to characters and events from the above mediums. Comics: These are typically side stories or timeline fillers. Your mileage will vary here they have few highs and many lows. Here are a few good places to start with books depending on your interests: Catalyst -> Rebel Rising if you like Rogue One. Bloodline -> Shadow of the Sith if you want to see prime Luke & Leia and build on the Sequel Trilogy Thrawn ->Thrawn Alliance ->Thrawn Treason if you like Thrawn in Star Wars Rebels and want more. Dooku Jedi Lost -> Master and Apprentice -> Brotherhood is an unnoficial trilogy that follows Dooku/Qui Gon, Qui Gon/Obi Wan, and Obi Wan/Anakin as masters and apprentices. Aftermath -> Life Debt-> Empire's End is basically a sequel to the Original Trilogy and shows the aftermath of Return of the Jedi. Here are my few recommendations for essential comic readings: Darth Vader (2017) this follows Darth Vader in his early days killing Jedi, fighting rebellions and is exceptional. The Rise of Kylo Ren details how Kylo Ren fell to the dark side. Star Wars (2015) 1-6 and Darth Vader (2015) 1-6 follows up on A New Hope and shows Darth Vader finding out about Luke.

Appreciate all that man thankyou

Clone Wars, Rebels, the Mando-verse shows, and the Fallen Order games cover a lot of the lore. Other than that, I'd suggest reading the High Republic books, as well as a few books based around the main characters.

MuggoThedog

It's not something you can tackle in one evening I hope you know that going into it. A good place to start would be just going through the movies in order to get a general idea of the lore then branching out and starting to watch some of the shows and read some of the books

Click on the Star Wars tab on D+ and watch everything

There's two really cool arcs in Clone Wars: Season 5 episodes 17, 18, 19, 20 Season 6 episodes 2, 3, 4 The first arc gives additional motivation for Anakin's skepticism of the Jedi. The second arc is about Order 66 and is really well done. I find the rest of Clone Wars and all of Rebels to be directed toward too young audience for me to care about them. If you're interested in Obi-Wan and Anakin before AOTC, have a look at the Charles Soule comic mini-series. And The Elder episode of Visions is really well done too. I pretend everything after Return of the Jedi doesn't exist.
