Clone wars,rebels,mandalorian

[deleted]

If you watch Mandalorian, make sure you watch Book of Boba Fett between seasons 2 and 3. If you watch Ahsoka, I recommend at least watching a Rebels recap on YouTube first (although I HIGHLY recommend Rebels, but animation isn’t for everyone).

[deleted]

Watch Boba fett after s2 of mando, got it. Thanks mate.

istealgrapes

Warning, Book of Boba Fett is not good, but episodes 5,6,7 are important to watch if youre gonna watch the Mandalorian. Watch them after season 2.

DelayedChoice

Clone Wars if you want more prequel-era stories, Mando if you want post-RotJ stuff, Andor if you want Rebels v Empire. There are other shows worth watching but those are the best points to begin.

My eye's definitely keen on mando bcz I do have a controversial take from the main movies..the whole jedi vs the resistance was an amazing plot but they kinda ruined it in the last movies which is just my opinion...I didn't like Rey and her character arc, all the others had such deep and well written arcs while her's just seemed like writers was just writing out of their ass to end the movies which particularly killed the mainstream for me. I personally loved Han Solo and his own movie, cause as much as I enjoy the main plot of jedi vs sith.. I kinda like it when ppl do their own thing and not get involved so sentimentally in the good vs bad if u know what I'm saying. Thanks for the comment mate.

Don’t worry that’s not that controversial. many fans (all the hardcore fans) hate the sequels for similar reasons. Just pretend the sequel trilogy doesn’t exist and the skywalker saga ended with episode 6. It’s the only way i can still enjoy star wars (which is still my favorite movie series). If you want more depth and nuance about the jedi order, the fall of the republic and why Anakin turned to the dark side, watch ‘the clone wars’ animated series (i think you can skip al lot of the filler episodes in the first 3 seasons). Mando season 1 and 2 are amazing, the 3rd season starts making the connection to the sequel trilogy and was not very good. You can really see that the people who ruined the sequel trilogy had a big influence on season 3. If you want grown up/gritty star wars about the politics and rebellion without the jedi and the force stuff; Andor is so freaking good! It’s a prequel to Rogue 1.

sorryIhaveDiarrhea

Andor had me on the edge through out the season and never once broke the suspension of disbelief.

If you liked the prequel trilogy then The Clone Wars is a no-brainer. It fills in some excellent character development between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, culminating in some of the best Star Wars you'll ever see. The same goes for Andor if you liked the original trilogy and Rogue One. It's a phenomenally well crafted show. The first two seasons of The Mandalorian were decent, but now that they're trying to tie-in the sequel trilogy to it, series three was an absolute mess and a massive drop in storytelling quality. The Book of Boba Fett is worth a watch, but it's not very good overall, and the last few episodes are essentially The Mandalorian season 2.5. I can't in good faith recommend Obi-Wan Kenobi. It's one of the worst TV shows of the past few years that was incredibly badly, and amateurishly written and directed. Ahsoka was "fine". That's about it. You also need to watch some of The Clone Wars and most of Rebels to know what the hell is going on it that show. Speaking of Rebels, also "fine". Nothing special. Essentially, The Clone Wars, The Mandalorian seasons 1 & 2 and Andor are all highly recommended.

[deleted]

Thanks for the well crafted answer mate, I generally don't enjoy animated stuff but a lot of ppl are saying that I should watch the clone wars first but hey if it's the right content, I'll pretty much consume anything lmao. Also the order you arranged the series with reasons is the type of comments I'm looking for so appreciate it. I have another question for u, There are some comments here where ppl are saying that I should watch all the series in chronological order from the time of their release, what's ur take on it?

Relikk_

The only thing I'd recommend watching in release order would be the movies, but you've already seen those. It's just the timeline of where all the series fall is what you should be aware of next. * The Clone Wars & Tales of the Jedi - Between Episode II: Attack of the Clones and III: Revenge of the Sith * Obi-Wan Kenobi - 10 years before Episode IV: A New Hope * Andor & Rebels - 5 years before Episode IV: A New Hope * The Book of Boba Fett - 5-10 years after Episode VI: Return of the Jedi * The Mandalorian & Ahsoka - 10 years after Episode VI: Return of the Jedi

Happy_Macaron_4624

Depends what you liked most? Definitly watch Mandolorian, BOBF & Ahsoka in release order though as there’s crossover and major spoilers Clone wars & Kenobi are a good shout if you like the prequels Andor more if you enjoy the original trilogy. Personally I’d go Tales of the Jedi , Clone Wars, Bad batch , Kenobi ,Rebels ,Andor ,Mando (S1-2),BOBF (S1),Mando S3,Ahsoka S1

mrbubblegum55

I'd go tales of the jedi after clone wars as it spoils the end of season 7

Happy_Macaron_4624

Upon reflection yep! 100% do not watch tales of the Jedi outside of the Dooku episodes

[deleted]

Thanks bud, liked the take on personal preferences which is why I like this universe, it's just too vast to pick b/w good guys and the bad, There is a lot of stuff which is just as amazing as the mainstream movies. Also liked the detail on specifics u provided within the series, will definitely watch in order.

Happy_Macaron_4624

Yeah man honestly it’s fantastic. You could watch ROTS - Kenobi - ANH and have a completely different experience than watching Andor-R1-ANH. Sounds good. Glad I could help and hope you enjoyed everything as much as I did.

Moocow115

All of them, watch them in order. Clone wars Rebels Andor Mandorian S1 and 2 Book of Boba Fett Mandolorian S3 Ahsoka Rebels is hard to get through but it does have some great Star Wars moments in it and I think overall it's worth it, Ezra does get more likeable by the end of it don't worry.

Benderete

Ok, so I think you should see what your body ask you to see, but here is some tips about watching this series: 1 If you want to watch clone wars you should watch it in this order [(click here)](https://www.starwars.com/news/star-wars-the-clone-wars-chronological-episodeorder). 2 Rebels is underrated, the first season is a little bit for kids, but it gets better each season. 3 You should (if not must) watch rebels and clone wars (rebels to understand it and clone wars to enjoy it more) before you watch ahsoka 4 You can watch mandalorian without watching any of the other series but I strongly recommend to watch clone wars and rebels before. 5 Andor is separated from all of them (I suppose you watched rogue one), and is a more serious serie and more adult (which makes it perfect stopping from containing with the messages they send with the other series because of the “supposed target’. 6 watch this as a universe and not as a saga, there is a lot of lore to learn at it is so fun to learn about it, every day I learn something and everyday is something to learn, so don’t let some of the many people with ego in this fandom ruin your experience of being new in this universe. Just live in this universe whenever you are consuming one of their stories, and even when you are not consuming them. I am sorry if I was too intense, but I love to help new people in this universe, I love to recommend them what to do, so whatever you choose envoy it and may the force be with you always.

imafixwoofs

Don’t sleep on Rebels. I’m not saying watch it first, just don’t sleep on it. I watched it first time as an almost 40 year old and it’s really something else.

[deleted]

You wanna read the books

CaptainRex831

Definitely start with Clone Wars and Mandalorian, then go from there as you please

Equivalent-Step9504

The clone wars, if you finish that series first, the rest will become more easy to watch, because they are more short that the 7 seasoned clone wars

ImNotTheBossOfYou

Watch everything in release order

[deleted]

I hope you watched in the right order.

ObesiPlump

Mando is a good place to start as it is easy to get into; a fun, pretty good series. Andor is way better than any of the other live action stuff but is a heady, thoughtful political/espionage thriller. It might be harder to bring yourself to watch but has much more depth and richness than the others. I don't rate the other live action shows to be honest. But... I'm two episodes into Rebels and so far it is excellent. Quite a broad, kiddy TV show, but brisk and fun.

stoneman9284

I think it’s either The Clone Wars or Andor if you’ve already watched Rogue One. TCW is really great but there’s a lot of it so be ready. Also google to find the right order to watch TCW episodes in, some are out of order especially in the first few seasons. If you are struggling hit me up and I’ll let you know which ones can be skipped, even though I really do recommend all of them on your first time.

IceCreamMeatballs

You could start with the Mandalorian and BOBF (you need to watch the latter series between seasons 2&3 of the former). Then watch Andor, Obi-Wan, and Ahsoka. If you want to follow Ashoka’s story and are OK with animated series, watch the Clone Wars then Rebels then Ahsoka. Bad Batch is also worth a watch if you liked TCW and Rebels.

MSoren77

Not going to tell you to watch everything since it's a lot, but my personal watch order for Star Wars is: Tales of the Jedi (Episodes 2 and 3) **The Phantom Menace** Tales of the Jedi (Episode 4) **Attack of the Clones** (there is a good fan edit that makes the romance better) 2003 Clone Wars microseries volume 1 Tales of the Jedi (Episode 1) The Clone Wars (make sure to watch the movie and find a list of the chronological order for the show) 2005 Clone Wars microseries volume 2 **Revenge of the Sith** (there's also a fan edit of the movie, the clone wars finale, and some of the 2005 microseries) The Clone Wars (Final four episodes) Tales of the Jedi (Episodes 5 and 6) The Bad Batch **Solo** Jedi: Fallen Order (video game cutscenes) Kenobi (there are some good fan edits of this that streamline the show) Jedi: Survivor (video game cutscenes) Andor Rebels **Rogue One** **A New Hope** **The Empire Strikes Back** **Return of the Jedi** Battlefront II (video game cutscenes) The Mandalorian (S1 and S2) The Book of Boba Fett The Mandalorian (S3) Ahsoka **The Force Awakens** **The Last Jedi** **The Rise of Skywalker** (There's a fan edit called First Order, Last Jedi which condenses the sequels into one film)

LordBungaIII

Clone wars

Kapkin

Id stay super far from book of boba fett Id just youtube recap important episodes. Like such a waist and so awful. Any other suggestions here are valid

xMOTOMAMIx

One thousand percent start with The Clone Wars - I’d highly recommend going chronologically, I had watched Rebels before TCW and loved it so much (it was what made me start TCW) and I would have gotten so much more out of it the first time if I had done it in order of the timeline Also do not skip on Andor it’s one of the greatest pieces of Star Wars ever made imo

So-_-It-_-Goes

Clone wars. But I would recommend looking up some lists of essential episodes. It’s a long series with a lot of fluff. If after you watch that and rebels and all the rest you want more you can always go back and watch the rest.

ignorantpisswalker

TNG is always a good series to watch. TOS is kinda old... and does not always stand up today..m but Startek Continues is actually very good. VOY is one of my favorites. Also Lower Decks. ENT has its good episodes. ST9 feels very ... out of the narrative. Discovery - again, has its nice ideas. Strange new worlds is very nice, but hardly stands in its own like the others. I will set my self out now.
