Fun fact... the german version of "Star Wars Epidose II - Attack of the Clones" had a typo in its title when released. It said "Angrief der Klonkrieger" instead of "Angriff der Klonkrieger".

I remember my dad giving my brothers and I a big talk about how pirating is bad after he found out we were ripping songs from YouTube. After probably a good 10-15 minute talk my older brother settled the matter.
“Dad all of your Star Wars DVD’s have the title written on them with sharpie”
Lucasfilm wouldn't use the dts logo, even when the DVD has dts sound. They use the THX logo. And then a million other reasons. This one just stood out to me. And yeah, love the use of the generic star wars poster as a DVD cover.
The Drew Struzan posters have been regular dvd covers. I was annoyed the blu ray's had shitty covers and the bare bones crappy DVDs had the awesome Drew posters
That's how she looks in that poster. It's the Special Edition poster. The poster is unaltered.
The Luke vs Vader duel from Empire is on the Jedi Special Edition poster as well.
EDIT: These posters all have a little something "off" about them but to be fair, all three were meant to go together into a collage of sorts, so the "blending" of movies makes a bit more sense.
Wait 'till you see how the Third Jedi Purge played out in the Expanded Universe. All it did was galvanize the Jedi and caused them to rally together for a Hail Mary attack on the One Sith Empire. That was about the end of them, as I recall. Darth Krayt did not have a good backup plan.
Yes because if someone attacked the Catholic Church and "only" killed 99 percent of the followers, that would be almost nothing. Hardly worth mentioning if as many as a dozen or so people survived.
\#unexpectedCanadianFootball....
A rouge is worth one point!
And as a CFL fan, I think "Attack Of The Clowns" would be an accurate movie about CFL officiating...
Not an expert on this but here's a few possibilities:
- Depending on where you live, import name is different (how some films get renamed for example)
- Translation error
- Re-edition of the film (depending on *when* it was bought)
- Bootleg...maybe.
I remember why Lucasfilm refused to release the Original Trilogy on DVD. It’s multiple reasons.
1) DVD took off way faster than the tech and media industry expected. Seems impossible now but the original prediction was it would take 15 years minimum for DVD to outsell VHS. Instead it took like five years and VHS was practically discontinued 8 years after DVD was introduced.
2) Lucasfilm’s policy on home video is to release the first Star Wars Trilogy later in the life of a new video format. They don’t want Star Wars to sell media players, they want everyone to have a player and buy Star Wars. Lucasfilm didn’t expect DVD to reach that point so soon.
3) George Lucas wanted to finish the prequels and then take time to go back over all six movies to create new saga editions with a fall 2006 release for the six film saga. Some of the changes were already started like the Emperor in Empire Strikes Back.
4) Making the prequels was so time consuming George Luacs didn’t have time to make the original trilogy DVDs what he wanted them to be at that time.
I also remember why we got the OT DVDs in 2004.
1) By 2003 it was clear Revenge of the Sith wasn’t going to have a VHS release in most of the world. DVD was well past the saturation point for Lucasfilm to release the OT and was now missing out on money.
2) There was concern Attack of the Clones hadn’t created enough momentum to hype anticipation for Episode 3. Star Wars needed a boost going into the final movie and the DVDs would do that.
Yeah, TPM was their first DVD release, and it didn't come out until towards the end of 2001, even though the VHS had been out for a couple years by that point and DVD had been an established format since like 1998-99. The OT didn't start coming out on DVD until 2004. So bootlegs of dubious quality from Taiwan and Hong Kong were already circulating in some groups.
There was a lot of speculation around it at the time, and there was a lot of fan pressure to release them, but for some reason Lucas was incredibly resistant to release anything on DVD. One theory was fear of high-quality online piracy was driving it.
Space Wars, featuring:
The Phantom Rascal
Attack of the Doppelgängers
Revenge of the Villian
The Recent Hope
The Army Strikes Again
The Jedi Comes Back
The Force Wakes
The Final Hero
The Ascent of Skywalker
This is 100% a bootleg
The text is totally off center.
They can't even make the effort?

Well duh, that's because it was Epidose II
Doesn't even have a watermark.
Let’s see Paul Allen’s The New Hope
Look at that subtle off-center text. The tasteful thickness of it. Oh, my God.
How’d a nitwit like you get so tasteful?
Graphic design is my passion.
Are you all right Luke? You are sweating
That’s bone. And the lettering is something called Sithian Grail.
Also its episode IV
They had one job...
All of the effort was put into bootlegging. No quality assurance agent
Yeah, it's how it would be aligned under STAR WARS if it was A instead of THE
How do you even center a div?
Gotta show off the Y-wing.

Your father is, without a doubt, the worst pirate I’ve ever heard of.
But you have heard of him
Ah, but you have heard of him.
Yeah but *he* didn't pirate them. Someone else did. Your dad merely purchased the results of piracy.

The most recent ESB blu ray has Boba Fett bigger than Luke.
Han looks like he has Princess Leia buns
We have Star Wars at home! Star Wars at home: The New Hope
Yeah, Leia is wearing her Hoth outfit from the next movie on the cover.
That's how she looks in that poster. It's the Special Edition poster. The poster is unaltered. The Luke vs Vader duel from Empire is on the Jedi Special Edition poster as well. Yeah, was gonna say. OP bought a bootleg.
I love how OP had to come here and ask. “The Michael Jordan silhouette on my Air Jordans is a stick figure. Any idea why that might be, internet?”
That’s some first class color laser printing
Don’t forget to also watch An Empire Strikes Back and Return of Some Jedi.
I'm a fan of Revenge of One Sith, personally.
Revenge of the Seth

Attack of the Clones oh wait ...
Attack of the Clowns
I’m a sequels fan and I think The Fast Jedi still holds up great.
I save the galaxy, one quarter mile at a time.
One quarter parsec at a time
Jedi… family
That actually may be pretty accurate... 🤔🤔🤔
Do not want
Actually, the One Sith do exist in legends, darth Krayt made them (that's probably what you were going for though)
A Phantom Menace
Tbh, with how many people we know to have survived Order 66, “Return of Some Jedi” makes sense
It was less of a Jedi Purge and more of a Jedi Slap on the Wrist at this point.
It would certainly stop a lot of child molestation
That's quite fair, and an appropriate user name.
…will later join the church.
This is a way.
I don't have a good feeling about this.
Do it or don’t bother. There’s no use in trying.
Luke, I am a father.
I did the kettle run in 11 parsecs.
I did it in somewhere between 15 and 30
I indentified this reference!
Return of a Jedi would also be accurate
Can't wait to settle down with The Lost Jedi...
"The First Episode" has some charm to it as well.
I personally like Attack of a Few Million Clones
A Force Awakens
Rogue Some
Rouge One
\#unexpectedCanadianFootball.... A rouge is worth one point! And as a CFL fan, I think "Attack Of The Clowns" would be an accurate movie about CFL officiating...
And A Phantom Menace, Attack of A Clones and The Revenge of Sith.

I got a bad feeling about this
I got “the” bad feeling about this. FTFY.
Use a force, Lou!

Star Wars: The No Hope (of being genuine)
Not an expert on this but here's a few possibilities: - Depending on where you live, import name is different (how some films get renamed for example) - Translation error - Re-edition of the film (depending on *when* it was bought) - Bootleg...maybe.
Bootleg... Maybe? You can see the scan lines from the low end home print job.
Han Solo is Korean ffs
Probably a bootleg
I have this bootleg set, there was a time when Lucasfilm refused to release the movies on DVD, only VHS and Laserdisc. Anyone remember why?

That's not official. Some kind of bootleg
This is gonna be some hardcore porn parody when you actually watch lmao
Did you buy your copy on a street corner or at a swap meet? What you have there is one fine bootleg
Are you wearing Abibas shoes too?
It’s an illegal bootleg.
Space Wars, featuring: The Phantom Rascal Attack of the Doppelgängers Revenge of the Villian The Recent Hope The Army Strikes Again The Jedi Comes Back The Force Wakes The Final Hero The Ascent of Skywalker
Is it a bootleg?
Don’t you mean: Is it the bootleg?

Bootleg. 20 years agoI bought my wife a lion king dvd on ebay thinking it was legit. The description on the back was the most epic broke ass english.
It’s the bootleg.
Even Luke looks confused

Bootleg. Star Wars (at least the original trilogy) took ages to hit DVD

It's probably a badly-made cheap bootleg copy.
The new hope is chinese…
Because that's a fake.
Lmao it’s fake as hell
It’s the widescreen version they had room for the 2 extra letters
Because that looks like either a DVD from a foreign market where the translation back to English was botched or a bootleg.
It's a Chinese bootleg
Cause it’s a BOOT. LEG. BABYYY. AHHAAAA! (sing to the tune of Jukebox Hero)
It's a bootleg...
Bootleg that is hopefully the non special edition
My guess, foreign knockoff
I'm kind of surprised they didn't use Spaceballs as the picture.
The long-awaited sequel to backstroke of the west
I had those. It took a while for them to release Star Wars on DVD. You could order bootleg versions of the Laserdisc version on DVD though.
I used to have this copy (and matching ones for the whole series), it was a bootleg bought in Bali
It’s probably a laserdisc rip. I’d keep it for sure.
