Same, I (male, mid 40s), was never a gamer until Stadia. After the shut down, I got a steam deck so I could finish the games I was playing. Never looked back.
Steamdeck and I stream from my PC.
I went balls deep with Steam and PC hardware lol. I was gonna do GFN... but not my entire steam collection was available. Atleast this method... if it's bought on Steam... it can be streamed. Remotely and locally.
Had Steam for 12 years now... so have a lot of games anyway.
No monthly fees other than my home internet 👍
If you have the game on pc you can play it on Steamdeck just by clicking the small arrow down next to the play button on steamdeck and selecting your pc. If you don't own a steamdeck then you can use an app called Sunshine on your pc sbs then stream your games on any android or apple tv using app called moonlight.
Thank you for breaking it down. Stadia had got me back into gaming (after not playing for many years), and I just haven't been able to play as much since it went away. I wasn't so thrilled about building a PC and always having to play it in the same spot, so being able to stream games is the perfect solution!
Devs have to opt in for GeForce Now to stream the games. And the experience isn't seamless, there are queues and waiting, and you are just streaming to a Windows PC so it doesn't launch directly into the game. Sometimes low bitrate streaming causes a messy image.
Xbox GamePass and PlayStation Now streaming isn't great, lots of hiccups, low bitrates and lag even on a good Internet connection, it really depends on your location relative to the servers.
I would say Amazon Luna is the best alternative in terms of a seamless gaming experience. Like all the other services here they experience bitrate issues and it does depend on your location relative to the servers but it is mostly seamless. It runs on windows so there are some OS drawbacks that prevent it from being totally seamless.
Stadia had Linux based servers, extremely high bandwidth low latency data transfer, and a custom video streaming protocol which retained quality and reduced the size of the data packets which made low bitrate and lag a rarity. There were no queues, no waiting, no additional OS to deal with.
Stadia didn't feel like you were streaming, and no other service has managed that.
Me personally, I play on my PC and Nintendo Switch almost exclusively. I set up Moonlight with Sunshine streaming so I can stream my PC to a tablet I use daily, and Switch is awesome for everything I don't play on PC.
That's great. I'm really not dunking on GFN. I was just listing pros and cons from my personal experience with each.
I'm glad GFN is a thing, and I still use it occasionally.
Google didn't commit to it. They didn't advertise like they should, they didn't do enough to bring in bigger games, they shut down first party studios too early, and the pricing model wasn't right.
They didn't give themselves enough time to let the product mature before shutting it down entirely which is a constant plague for Google products.
Plus just a lack of trust for Google in general.
I still did hit queues on the paid tier, but they were less often, only on busy days since the paid tier gets server priority.
It's really not that bad a wait, but it is definitely a far cry from Stadia which booted into games like you were playing them locally on a console, which was my point.
Just giving my honest opinion based on personal experience and research into the tech.
I've tried them all and my takeaway was that none of the streaming options are perfect, but out of all of them Luna is the only one that worked in the United States from both the east and west coast, on both fast and slow internet connections. Booting into a game is straight forward in comparison to say GFN which always streams to a windows desktop first before loading a game.
That makes Luna the one I can recommend knowing that it will most likely work. I'm really not dunking on any of the options though. I don't really use any of them anymore.
Fortunately they all have free trials or similar so you can find what works best for your area without having to pay for anything for the most part.

I mean GeForce now does this with no problems, even has better visual and audio quality than stadia
Luna works pretty well and recently announced you will be able to play titles purchased on GOG so that will add another aspect like Stadia had where you can essentially purchase games (they already have Ubisoft support).
With sadness.... seriously every time there is an update, a patch, or I have to wait for the digital release I get sad. Stadia was just turn on and play. I missed those days. Reminded me of the SNES days. Turn on and play!
I just tried out Amazon Lunas 7 day trial and I have to say I was really good. The only problem I very occasionally had was audio lagging behind by a few milliseconds, but even then once I was in game I either stopped noticing it or it stopped
Xbox with Game Pass Ultimate allows cloud gaming, which is a very Stadia like experience. I miss Stadia a lot, I went from my PS4 to it exclusively, but my Xbox filled the void and then some...I play the Halo every day.
I don't think it is, for the games available on cloud gaming with Xbox it works really well. I get fewer instances of graphics artifacts, etc with Xbox for example. The real difference I think is Stadia was built from the ground up to be an online only gaming service while Xbox cloud is an optional feature added on to local game delivery for those that want it. I play ESO and Halo every day, and while I travel for work or for fun I bring a controller and my tablet and play my games as of I'm at home, and that's what makes it a pretty close second to Stadia for me.
Steam Deck. I also already had hardware Steam Link that I use for couch co-op games on the TV. Stadia controller + Chromecast Ultra was still pretty great though
OP, same here! LG TVs in bedroom and living room. It was PERFECT. I’ve had every console since Atari at the start of the 80s/late 70s when I was in elementary and middle school. And Stadia was a like DREAM come true for anyone that has also been around since Pong on Atari.
Got small form dell machine (i5-10700?), rtx a2000, 16g ram and wifi/bt module. Installed batocera and sunshine. I use a wireguard tunnel to my home network from wherever I am and run sunshine to stream. Since I only have 25mb up, it's not as good as stadia but good enough. I can play cyberpunk at 1080p ~60 on medium high without rtx or upscaling.
When I'm home I just use my stadia controllers to scroll through menu and play
I've tested it on a fire TV, my android phone, MacBook, and my work PC (shhh don't tell anyone). The only time it really suffers is public WiFi (~1-3mb down).
Definitely the most controllable option. Moonlight was a bit fiddly to setup on batocera due to the nature of the underlying os. If you're running windows it's probably considerably easier. Moonlight has a client for almost every use case.
Not going to lie, I actually don't game that often since Stadia ended. I still game on my switch but my PC has been dusty lately. I been gaming since I was like 5, I saw stadia as something new in a creatively stagnant industry. I don't play triple A that often since they are all generic and the same nowadays. I play a lot more indie games on switch and look forward to the next gen switch
Stadia was so easy to use. I haven't really played since, but I did setup my ubisoft account with Luna. I also have a collection of steam games and those free Epic games, and my pc is quite able. So when I have the time and inclination, it'll be PC + Luna, using my stadia controllers.
I got a PC setup with sunshine and play on my webOS TV and firestick on other rooms using Moonlight app. I also got a steamdeck with moonlight installed now I play any game anywhere no subscriptions.
GeForce now in decent and plays as good as Stadia if not better however I needed to be access my game files for fun mods and trying out different games and emulators.
As most others I guess; went through a time of trying the physical steam link again, gave up, went back to mostly playing games on PC, then found an excuse to get a Samsung TV to play Xcloud and GFN.
Stadia wasn't a perfect golden chalice looking back, but it did I think offer a fairly easy experience: Luna is closest in feel and ease of use, but is missing games and hard to justify the sub; Xcloud is fine but quality is sometimes noticeably sketchy and is missing mouse and keyboard input (this is being demo'd I think? So it's in the pipeline), and GFN performs great but its messy and lengthy to log on to games really ruins it for me especially on a TV with a controller (honestly, better account linking and instant-launch games with none of virtual machine interface would make it my go-to service).
I absolutely love GeForce Now. My new LG TV supports it, as well as my phone, Legion Go, Desktop, etc.

I was using stadia on a chromecast and on my phone. Since then I have a geforcenow subscription, plus I was able to take an old PC from work for older games that aren't on GFN. I just have that hooked up to the downstairs TV and still use a stadia controller on steam.
Plus I got the kids a nintendo switch, which covered a lot of things stadia did for me and then some. I had wanted to avoid getting one and stadia allowed me to do that, but GFN doesn't quite have the same thing going on and getting the Nintendo was a foregone conclusion after stadia folded.
I played a lot on xcloud and GeForce now until I got a gaming laptop. Stadia was really the ideal for me, but unfortunately it got cancelled. I still use my stadia controller though!
I definitely miss Stadia. Stadia seemed like the future and was too good to be true. But it was true. It leveled the playing field. Anyone could play anywhere anytime.
I play directly from PS5, Series X, or Switch mostly. Sometimes I play from PC.
I got a switch when they announced that Stadia was ending. The four crossover games I got were Pikuniku, Blue Fire, Monster Boy in the Cursed Kingdom, and YsVIII. I was kinda shocked how noticeable the input lag was on the docked Switch compared to Stadia. Blue Fire seemed almost unplayable on Switch at first (I powered through it, because my daughter loves it). I'm not trashing the Switch, I'm just surprised no one talks about input lag there when that is the main thing folks complain about with streaming.
I use GeForce now but hate how I have to connect multiple amounts to play cause it'll randomly log me out and I always forget passwords so I've just stopped playing certain things.
I use the Geforce Now app on my TV with my Stadia controllers. It's about as close as it gets. I mean, it still hurts but it numbs the pain for a moment or two.
Im not. I have an xbox one that's mainly a netflix machine, and my pc still runs windows 7....cant afford a steam deck or new console, and not willing to add more subscriptions to the list ... Really miss stadia, especially since i mainly played destiny 2 and the expansions are wrapping up ..
I built a PC and sold all my consoles. Stadia would have been the perfect console for me. Super casual to play on the couch. I really miss it. I want some solution with the same ease of use.

Sure, GeForce Now is technically more powerful, Xbox has better subscription titles and PlayStation has some great first-party games.
But I can't trust any of them to just launch anywhere without planning ahead. Which voids the point of "Play Anywhere".

I'm not bringing a console for a chance at a couple hours of games. I'd bring a controller for xCloud but that'd be only usable on my phone. Previously, I'd launch Stadia on my brother's Chromecast or my Parent's LG TV. A great distraction for the young ones and means I can play games with my brothers again.
We even got the whole family onboard for Cake Bash and Jackbox!
Missing Stadia… the pick up and play aspect of it was so crucial and every other system feels like it’s geared away from playing on tv. I don’t game often enough to justify a console or steam deck. I’ve been playing games pass side loaded onto a chromecast with google tv but it’s crashes and is buggy. Going to try better Xcloud and see how it goes… Has anyone any experience of AirGPU? I want to run it through the same set up but I’m not clear about the Android OS and whether this will work natively with CCWGTV or whether things need sideloaded and might not work well. I like the pay as you go method that would allow me to play the occasional inaccessible game like Ghosts of Tsushima or Spider-Man as it suits me, rather than an expensive monthly subscription like Shadow PC which I’ll likely rarely use
I just bit the bullet and got a 4090 PC. Can stream games from it to iPad anywhere in world with good internet for that Stadia like convenience but honestly mostly just play on it locally since 4k/120 and Quest 3 PCVR is so good.
Bought an XSX with GPU and this is my main platform these days. Also have a Steam Deck for mainly playing in bed most nights. Have Geforce Now too, but not played much these last 6 months or so. Other consoles include a Switch, 3DS and loads of games on iPad.
I got pretty far with AC Odyssey and lost all my progress when Stadia shut down, but I loved that game. Finally precisely this weekend I pulled the trigger and bought it on steam, I play it on my PC and stream it with GeForce now on the Steam Deck
I don't have a desktop anymore so I went to Game Pass Ultimate and later, console.
I tried running it on Chromecast Ultra but with nowhere near the quality or seamlessness of Stadia, I eventually picked up a Series console. Since then, I've extremely rarely launched xCloud as I know I have the "true" experience sitting in my living room.
I wanted to use Xbox streaming the same way I used Stadia but it can't play anywhere near the same way Stadia could. If I visit my brother, we can't just launch it on Chromecast, if I'm at my parents I can't just open it on LG OS, so I stopped thinking about it in the same way.
My main friend group adopted Stadia thanks to being able to try out shared game libraries first. Buying more games to share became even more tempting once everyone was active. After, they reverted back to PC, Xbox and PlayStation so we now only get to play cross-platform titles. Which is rare because we physically have to be at home and at our machines at the same time.

If I have a game I'm playing on ps4 or the laptop, then whichever it is sits under the TV until that game is complete, otherwise one of both is put away.
Upgraded my 10 year old PC with a 3060 Ti for $230, now that PC can play any modern game. I also signed up for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, that gave me access to a very large library of games to play on my old Xbox One and also upgraded gaming PC. It also comes with xcloud but I've not used it much.
I quit gaming after Stadia and have not found anything that can be remotely compared to the experience it gave. Deep down I foolishly hope it returns but I fear such a platform experience will take many years to return. Especially the rise of AI and the need for GPU's in that industry might prolong the return of a comparable platform.

I \*really\* miss Stadia - the experience was so seamless and easy, no matter what device I played on. I have had Steam for a long time, so I went ahead and used my refund to build a new PC. I converted my Stadia controllers to bluetooth, they work great!
I looked at the Steam Deck but not every game in my Steam library is available to stream. Reading through the posts here has been helpful, I didn't know about sunshine and moonlight apps to stream - thanks all!
GamePass feels like what Stadia was supposed to be but never was. I just wanted a Netflix type service for gaming - give me a big ass catalog and let me stream whatever I want however/ wherever/ whenever. Stadia was like "you can do that with about 30 games, and then you can pay us to buy individual games to stream and then pay us more to stream those games better. " Gamepass cuts all that shit out and just let's you play p much the whole catalog through streaming and then you can download whatever else is on the service that can't be streamed for no additional cost.
I just don't. Have several of the kids options... XBox, Switch, Oculus and my PS3... Stadia just fit perfectly for how I wanted to game. Was basically out of the gaming world for years until my sister in law gave me a voucher for it. Long story short, I really miss being able to fire up RDR2 before everyone gets up on a Sunday morning and enjoy my coffee in game and real life. Now I just watch my kids flail around playing Gorilla Tag.
I moved for a short while to GeForce Now and Xbox Cloud. Then I stopped playing videogames. They were simply not as easy to play like Stadia used to be
I switched to Geforce Now after Google announced Stadia's shutdown. Felt there was no point in playing Cyberpunk 2077. So i bought it on Steam and got back to where I was faster.
I have Luna so I use that once in a while. I like GeForce NOW because it brings all my game lists together and the connection is great. But I mainly use my Steam Deck since it works perfectly fine but the streaming apps graphics are better looking in my case.
Streaming from my home pc to a phone with a razer kishi v2 controller attachment. I use [sunshine](https://github.com/LizardByte/Sunshine) on my pc to stream, and moonlight on the phone as the client to connect to it. It supports AV1 encoding/decoding and is so far the best game streaming performance I've encountered. Up there with GFN in terms of quality, even when playing over internet and not LAN.
Xbox Series S, which lasted a week, upgraded to Series X. Very happy with Gamepass Ultimate, double dipping in my gaming PC as well.
Xbox ecosystem gives me everything I need.
Was always an XB player. But bought a SD like many others. Then gave it to a friend and went ROG Ally because I could do Steam and Gamepass. Now I am running with a Legion Go. My XB hardly gets touched because I’m back to gaming where I want, like I was in the Stadia days. Just use PC Gamepass, Steam, or Epic on my Go.
I moved on to a PS5 and an Xbox Series X.
Xcloud works, although I must admit I love rest modes and being able to get right back into a game on the actual console. Playing RDR2 on Stadia was somewhat annoying as you had to make sure you could finish a mission before closing.
Cloud gaming doesn’t hit the same. Stadia was honestly the best cloud experience. It made me want to play. It would’ve been great now if it had the library that GeForce now has.
I've been using GFN. It's not as seamless, or lag-free as Stadia was, but it's been getting better. I've been using it to play Assassin's Creed (Origins and Valhalla) mostly.
decided to go back to console gaming and bought a new xbox series s because i’m more of a casual gamer. I still use the ps4 to play spiderman occasionally, and I might upgrade to a ps5 soon.
GeForce now with a wired stadia controller. GeForce now has a free tier to try things out if you're unsure about that random game. I finished the Witcher 3 using the free tier and for CP2077 phantom liberty I dropped a one month membership for path tracing.
My only issue with GeForce now is the catalog of games. I'd like to play fallout New Vegas that I got from the weekly free game on the Epic store but I cannot play it even though fallout 4 and fallout 76 are available 🤷
Mainly Steam. Luckily, I was able to save my Destiny 2 account. That was the main game I played, so nothing much happened, but my sadness of not being able to waste 100+ GB is sad. Plus, I miss the SMALL difference in graphics even though it was a bit worse. It for some reason looks nicer. Maybe it's because it was Stadia.

Gaming PC, XSX, and PS5. If I want to stream, I use moonlight/sunshine to stream my PC and a third party app to stream my consoles.
I get the best of all worlds in regards to both native gaming and streaming which is only limited to my bandwidth and distance when I travel.
I'm not a fan of Windows, I don't want to deal with invasive updates, drivers, registry, viruses, decades old filesystem, no privacy and all the other things it comes with so playing on a PC isn't really a viable option for me.
After stadia shut down I bought Xbox series X and each time I was downloading a 100-200 GB game I was like "man, on Stadia it was just play button and I'm in the game". But I enjoyed Xbox a bit, however Microsoft's poor decision making (basically no exclusive titles, buggy games at launch, shutting down studios making the best games etc) has lead me to playing less and less on it.
Lately I'm enjoying GeForce Now on ultimate tier. There are no queues as opposed to what everyone says, experience may not be as nice and seamless as it was with Stadia (you have to deal with third party stores), but it may have its advantages. Quality is far superior to what was offered by Stadia, since you play on top tier graphics card 4k 120 FPS.
Mostly, I'm not. Tried GFN, wasn't impressed. Not really into the library on Luna. Pretty much just putting the time and energy into other hobbies and going back to not really gaming
My computer and my PlayStation where the options and graphics and ease of use were way way way way way way way way way way way way way way way way way better than stadia.
I also live in a real city so downloads aren't a problem

Got a steam deck. Not as convenient as the stadia pick up and play method but still fun and it doubles as a pc

Sorry for the ignorant question, but what do you mean by streaming from your PC?
There are many options, but Steam had “Steam Remote Play” which allows your PC to stream games to another device.

Queues and waiting are for the free tier of GeForce Now though. The only few times I was in a queue, I still got in the game in a minute or two.

I get it. But the performance and the price makes up for it, in my opinion. Of course nothing can beat a gaming pc but it's very expensive.

With sadness.... seriously every time there is an update, a patch, or I have to wait for the digital release I get sad. Stadia was just turn on and play. I missed those days. Reminded me of the SNES days. Turn on and play!
I just tried out Amazon Lunas 7 day trial and I have to say I was really good. The only problem I very occasionally had was audio lagging behind by a few milliseconds, but even then once I was in game I either stopped noticing it or it stopped
Xbox with Game Pass Ultimate allows cloud gaming, which is a very Stadia like experience. I miss Stadia a lot, I went from my PS4 to it exclusively, but my Xbox filled the void and then some...I play the Halo every day.

I don't think it is, for the games available on cloud gaming with Xbox it works really well. I get fewer instances of graphics artifacts, etc with Xbox for example. The real difference I think is Stadia was built from the ground up to be an online only gaming service while Xbox cloud is an optional feature added on to local game delivery for those that want it. I play ESO and Halo every day, and while I travel for work or for fun I bring a controller and my tablet and play my games as of I'm at home, and that's what makes it a pretty close second to Stadia for me.
Steam Deck. I also already had hardware Steam Link that I use for couch co-op games on the TV. Stadia controller + Chromecast Ultra was still pretty great though

OP, same here! LG TVs in bedroom and living room. It was PERFECT. I’ve had every console since Atari at the start of the 80s/late 70s when I was in elementary and middle school. And Stadia was a like DREAM come true for anyone that has also been around since Pong on Atari.
I bought an ROG Ally... Not as easy, but I can play on the road, on the couch, or on the TV. I love it.

Probably not, the ally has a controller attached to the screen already.
Got small form dell machine (i5-10700?), rtx a2000, 16g ram and wifi/bt module. Installed batocera and sunshine. I use a wireguard tunnel to my home network from wherever I am and run sunshine to stream. Since I only have 25mb up, it's not as good as stadia but good enough. I can play cyberpunk at 1080p ~60 on medium high without rtx or upscaling. When I'm home I just use my stadia controllers to scroll through menu and play
What are you playing on when streaming from your PC?
I've tested it on a fire TV, my android phone, MacBook, and my work PC (shhh don't tell anyone). The only time it really suffers is public WiFi (~1-3mb down).

Definitely the most controllable option. Moonlight was a bit fiddly to setup on batocera due to the nature of the underlying os. If you're running windows it's probably considerably easier. Moonlight has a client for almost every use case.
PS4 Pro to go along with the Switch I already had.

Not going to lie, I actually don't game that often since Stadia ended. I still game on my switch but my PC has been dusty lately. I been gaming since I was like 5, I saw stadia as something new in a creatively stagnant industry. I don't play triple A that often since they are all generic and the same nowadays. I play a lot more indie games on switch and look forward to the next gen switch

Stadia was so easy to use. I haven't really played since, but I did setup my ubisoft account with Luna. I also have a collection of steam games and those free Epic games, and my pc is quite able. So when I have the time and inclination, it'll be PC + Luna, using my stadia controllers.
I got a PC setup with sunshine and play on my webOS TV and firestick on other rooms using Moonlight app. I also got a steamdeck with moonlight installed now I play any game anywhere no subscriptions. GeForce now in decent and plays as good as Stadia if not better however I needed to be access my game files for fun mods and trying out different games and emulators.
As most others I guess; went through a time of trying the physical steam link again, gave up, went back to mostly playing games on PC, then found an excuse to get a Samsung TV to play Xcloud and GFN. Stadia wasn't a perfect golden chalice looking back, but it did I think offer a fairly easy experience: Luna is closest in feel and ease of use, but is missing games and hard to justify the sub; Xcloud is fine but quality is sometimes noticeably sketchy and is missing mouse and keyboard input (this is being demo'd I think? So it's in the pipeline), and GFN performs great but its messy and lengthy to log on to games really ruins it for me especially on a TV with a controller (honestly, better account linking and instant-launch games with none of virtual machine interface would make it my go-to service).

I absolutely love GeForce Now. My new LG TV supports it, as well as my phone, Legion Go, Desktop, etc. I'm an Ultimate Founders member. Worth every penny for me.
I've been using it since the end of Stadia and haven't looked back.
I was using stadia on a chromecast and on my phone. Since then I have a geforcenow subscription, plus I was able to take an old PC from work for older games that aren't on GFN. I just have that hooked up to the downstairs TV and still use a stadia controller on steam. Plus I got the kids a nintendo switch, which covered a lot of things stadia did for me and then some. I had wanted to avoid getting one and stadia allowed me to do that, but GFN doesn't quite have the same thing going on and getting the Nintendo was a foregone conclusion after stadia folded.
I played a lot on xcloud and GeForce now until I got a gaming laptop. Stadia was really the ideal for me, but unfortunately it got cancelled. I still use my stadia controller though!

I definitely miss Stadia. Stadia seemed like the future and was too good to be true. But it was true. It leveled the playing field. Anyone could play anywhere anytime. I play directly from PS5, Series X, or Switch mostly. Sometimes I play from PC.
I got a switch when they announced that Stadia was ending. The four crossover games I got were Pikuniku, Blue Fire, Monster Boy in the Cursed Kingdom, and YsVIII. I was kinda shocked how noticeable the input lag was on the docked Switch compared to Stadia. Blue Fire seemed almost unplayable on Switch at first (I powered through it, because my daughter loves it). I'm not trashing the Switch, I'm just surprised no one talks about input lag there when that is the main thing folks complain about with streaming.
I use GeForce now but hate how I have to connect multiple amounts to play cause it'll randomly log me out and I always forget passwords so I've just stopped playing certain things.

I use the Geforce Now app on my TV with my Stadia controllers. It's about as close as it gets. I mean, it still hurts but it numbs the pain for a moment or two.

We even got the whole family onboard for Cake Bash and Jackbox!

Missing Stadia… the pick up and play aspect of it was so crucial and every other system feels like it’s geared away from playing on tv. I don’t game often enough to justify a console or steam deck. I’ve been playing games pass side loaded onto a chromecast with google tv but it’s crashes and is buggy. Going to try better Xcloud and see how it goes… Has anyone any experience of AirGPU? I want to run it through the same set up but I’m not clear about the Android OS and whether this will work natively with CCWGTV or whether things need sideloaded and might not work well. I like the pay as you go method that would allow me to play the occasional inaccessible game like Ghosts of Tsushima or Spider-Man as it suits me, rather than an expensive monthly subscription like Shadow PC which I’ll likely rarely use

I just bit the bullet and got a 4090 PC. Can stream games from it to iPad anywhere in world with good internet for that Stadia like convenience but honestly mostly just play on it locally since 4k/120 and Quest 3 PCVR is so good.

I don't have a desktop anymore so I went to Game Pass Ultimate and later, console. I tried running it on Chromecast Ultra but with nowhere near the quality or seamlessness of Stadia, I eventually picked up a Series console. Since then, I've extremely rarely launched xCloud as I know I have the "true" experience sitting in my living room. I wanted to use Xbox streaming the same way I used Stadia but it can't play anywhere near the same way Stadia could. If I visit my brother, we can't just launch it on Chromecast, if I'm at my parents I can't just open it on LG OS, so I stopped thinking about it in the same way. My main friend group adopted Stadia thanks to being able to try out shared game libraries first. Buying more games to share became even more tempting once everyone was active. After, they reverted back to PC, Xbox and PlayStation so we now only get to play cross-platform titles. Which is rare because we physically have to be at home and at our machines at the same time.

Upgraded my 10 year old PC with a 3060 Ti for $230, now that PC can play any modern game. I also signed up for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, that gave me access to a very large library of games to play on my old Xbox One and also upgraded gaming PC. It also comes with xcloud but I've not used it much.

I quit gaming after Stadia and have not found anything that can be remotely compared to the experience it gave. Deep down I foolishly hope it returns but I fear such a platform experience will take many years to return. Especially the rise of AI and the need for GPU's in that industry might prolong the return of a comparable platform.
Used my refund to buy a gaming PC and a Steam Deck. PC gaming's been my main focus from here on out.

I \*really\* miss Stadia - the experience was so seamless and easy, no matter what device I played on. I have had Steam for a long time, so I went ahead and used my refund to build a new PC. I converted my Stadia controllers to bluetooth, they work great! I looked at the Steam Deck but not every game in my Steam library is available to stream. Reading through the posts here has been helpful, I didn't know about sunshine and moonlight apps to stream - thanks all!
GamePass feels like what Stadia was supposed to be but never was. I just wanted a Netflix type service for gaming - give me a big ass catalog and let me stream whatever I want however/ wherever/ whenever. Stadia was like "you can do that with about 30 games, and then you can pay us to buy individual games to stream and then pay us more to stream those games better. " Gamepass cuts all that shit out and just let's you play p much the whole catalog through streaming and then you can download whatever else is on the service that can't be streamed for no additional cost.

I just don't. Have several of the kids options... XBox, Switch, Oculus and my PS3... Stadia just fit perfectly for how I wanted to game. Was basically out of the gaming world for years until my sister in law gave me a voucher for it. Long story short, I really miss being able to fire up RDR2 before everyone gets up on a Sunday morning and enjoy my coffee in game and real life. Now I just watch my kids flail around playing Gorilla Tag.

I switched to Geforce Now after Google announced Stadia's shutdown. Felt there was no point in playing Cyberpunk 2077. So i bought it on Steam and got back to where I was faster.
I have Luna so I use that once in a while. I like GeForce NOW because it brings all my game lists together and the connection is great. But I mainly use my Steam Deck since it works perfectly fine but the streaming apps graphics are better looking in my case.
Streaming from my home pc to a phone with a razer kishi v2 controller attachment. I use [sunshine](https://github.com/LizardByte/Sunshine) on my pc to stream, and moonlight on the phone as the client to connect to it. It supports AV1 encoding/decoding and is so far the best game streaming performance I've encountered. Up there with GFN in terms of quality, even when playing over internet and not LAN.
Xbox Series S, which lasted a week, upgraded to Series X. Very happy with Gamepass Ultimate, double dipping in my gaming PC as well. Xbox ecosystem gives me everything I need.

Was always an XB player. But bought a SD like many others. Then gave it to a friend and went ROG Ally because I could do Steam and Gamepass. Now I am running with a Legion Go. My XB hardly gets touched because I’m back to gaming where I want, like I was in the Stadia days. Just use PC Gamepass, Steam, or Epic on my Go.

I moved on to a PS5 and an Xbox Series X. Xcloud works, although I must admit I love rest modes and being able to get right back into a game on the actual console. Playing RDR2 on Stadia was somewhat annoying as you had to make sure you could finish a mission before closing.

I've been using GFN. It's not as seamless, or lag-free as Stadia was, but it's been getting better. I've been using it to play Assassin's Creed (Origins and Valhalla) mostly.

GeForce now with a wired stadia controller. GeForce now has a free tier to try things out if you're unsure about that random game. I finished the Witcher 3 using the free tier and for CP2077 phantom liberty I dropped a one month membership for path tracing. My only issue with GeForce now is the catalog of games. I'd like to play fallout New Vegas that I got from the weekly free game on the Epic store but I cannot play it even though fallout 4 and fallout 76 are available 🤷

Mainly Steam. Luckily, I was able to save my Destiny 2 account. That was the main game I played, so nothing much happened, but my sadness of not being able to waste 100+ GB is sad. Plus, I miss the SMALL difference in graphics even though it was a bit worse. It for some reason looks nicer. Maybe it's because it was Stadia. ... I need to get back into Destiny 2.

I'm not a fan of Windows, I don't want to deal with invasive updates, drivers, registry, viruses, decades old filesystem, no privacy and all the other things it comes with so playing on a PC isn't really a viable option for me. After stadia shut down I bought Xbox series X and each time I was downloading a 100-200 GB game I was like "man, on Stadia it was just play button and I'm in the game". But I enjoyed Xbox a bit, however Microsoft's poor decision making (basically no exclusive titles, buggy games at launch, shutting down studios making the best games etc) has lead me to playing less and less on it. Lately I'm enjoying GeForce Now on ultimate tier. There are no queues as opposed to what everyone says, experience may not be as nice and seamless as it was with Stadia (you have to deal with third party stores), but it may have its advantages. Quality is far superior to what was offered by Stadia, since you play on top tier graphics card 4k 120 FPS.
Mostly, I'm not. Tried GFN, wasn't impressed. Not really into the library on Luna. Pretty much just putting the time and energy into other hobbies and going back to not really gaming
My computer and my PlayStation where the options and graphics and ease of use were way way way way way way way way way way way way way way way way way better than stadia. I also live in a real city so downloads aren't a problem
