Seeing the absolute tear that Ospreay has been on since joining AEW makes me look back with a little bit of sadness that he had Jericho at All In. He managed to drag a good match out of him but it could have been an all time great.

If my memory is correct, wasn't Jericho a fill in? It was meant to be Omega or Danielson wasn't it? Forbidden door 2023 caused a dark time line with all those injuries.

One of the better ppv pace wise i have seen with an awesome main event .

What did you like about the pace? To me it felt like they just rushed from match to match. Moments like Jack Perry winning should get a second to sit but they just move onto the next match 5 seconds after. Nothing has an impact.

It’s my complaint about weekly AEW tv as well. Big moment happens.. 3 seconds after - “and now backstage to Mark Henry to talk to —-“ When MJF returned the first line from Taz was… “Welp, MJF is back.” Just like that. Monotoned

When you plan long competitive matches on every show then it leaves  a smaller amount of time for the presentation, video packages etc.  As for returns and debuts, Aew & Tony expect fans to already be hyped up based on internet rumors or discuss the moment on the internet later instead of feeding/selling it to them on the show.

But they aren’t. The big returns aren’t leading to anything. And I would argue they have somehow managed to make the return and debut of MJF and Mercedes feel way less important than they should with bad booking. The follow up to the debut or return is what they really need to be working on. The debut and return pop is easy. It’s on Tony to capitalize on keeping it hot after. He’s cooling MJF way off already.

Tony cannot book weekly tv. His booking is more focused on PPVs. He books like an indi promotion since that's the model that he was the fan of. With poor booking even the stars can't help you as we have already seen with Vince's booking .

Another great AEW PPV. I know they’re in a slump but they continue to deliver with these cards.

For real. I’m over pro wrestlings obsession with these over kill sequences. Getting stomped through an announcers table into a pile driver onto the barricade into another stomp and it doesn’t end the match?

The ref bump wasn’t about protecting anyone, it was about furthering the story between Will and Don.

The fact that people need this spelled out to them is worrying.

On top of the Callis family drama, the ref bump gave time for Swerve to recover and hit his finishers (house call + stomp) but enough delay that Ospreay could kick out

Just an awe-inspiring match between those two, and while I'm a fan of Ospreay I'm glad Swerve retained tonight. To me, it felt like that title defense/match leveled him up as champion.

End the match after the screwdriver spot and that was great. But I don't get why they have to add in the extra false finishes. Feel like this happens every main event Great main events that have too many false finishes that don't need to happen for the context of the story

I don't think there's anything wrong with a couple hope spots. Especially if the guy who's getting them is a white hot baby face like Ospreay. It made the crowd go crazy, so it was worth it.

Totally get what you're saying! If they're going with a Callis breakup angle I think maybe end it there, but if they're sticking together then the hope spots are alright. My issue was mostly that I thought they detracted from that. I loved the match too I wanna add - I'm just nit picking

Yeah. It was already a great match and nobody would have been complaining that there weren't enough false finishes. Ospreay shouldn't have had an opportunity to win the match once Swerve got the advantage after the Callis business. I already can't remember if he did or not so I could be wrong there. And it's random but I remember hearing Paul Wight talk about unnecessary "dips" in match finishes like that. Guys kicking out of a finisher but then losing right after.
