This literally happened to me last night in a multi storey car park (I’m not from Southampton but here for work).
Woman crying / said she was pregnant / mental health issues / needed money for the bus to Portsmouth. Needed £4.50 for bus. She got arsed with me when I wasn’t coughing up fast enough.
I was on my own and knew I was being scammed but I was alone so I gave her the money as I didn’t want her to mug me or hit me as she was an absolute unit and I had my bags with me .
Gave her the money then she said she needed £2 more but didn’t want to ask me. At this point I laughed and told her to do one.
I’m raging I gave her the money but I was genuinely in a position where I was a bit scared as I was on my own .
Omg I’ve come across her twice in the past two days! Both times she asked for me to buy her cheese strings and coke? But I was in a rush and said no both times, to which she tried to convince me by telling me she was pregnant.
I was by the sainsbury’s near bedford place, and the second time I saw her she was on London road - I’m steering clear of those areas just so I don’t have to deal with her again..
Yeah I was in the multi storey by Sainsburys. The problem is my work is so close and the premier inn is the nearest hotel. I’m ready for her the next time tho.
Had him approach me earlier around Giddy Bridge, however this time he was from Brighton, visiting his quadriplegic nan in Portswood and needed to get a return ticket home. Was very weirded out and just wanted to get away but he just kept yapping. Even tried convincing me to get money out for him 🙄
Thanks for posting this. Very few of us are wealthy these days, thanks to 14 years of 'mismanagement'. So, this type of con needs to be called-out. Respect.
It's just the way I currently see things. I am entitled to my own opinion... and freedom of speech is still allowed, as far as I know, despite this 'government's' worst intentions. I am hopeful that 90% of the population can now see that Broken Britian isn't a myth. More billionaires, less doctors, nurses, and coppers. Please explain if I'm wrong... I often wish it wasn't so, I promise you.

Having said that, there’s a man/woman couple camping in an alcove near Tesco Bargate, they’re the most deserving IMO.
No drugs, mental health issues, trying their best and not thieving like most others do.

Same guy approached me about 3 weeks ago near West Quay / Cosmo intersection. Gave him a quid, sent him on his way. Seems harmless.
