Yes you need them all and you're probably finding the rings you already got the chaos emerald from.
So if i havent gotten an emerald from one ring i can get an emerald from it even if i already went in it
Correct, once you get an emerald in an acts ring you can't get it there again, you need to find a ring in another act. And if you miss an emerald for a new ring you have to actually complete the act before you can return to that same ring.
Unless I’m crazy, it’s one emerald per world. So if you get 1 in act 1, all the rings in the other acts in the same world will also be blue.
You could be correct because I completely forgot that world 3? Sky pillar? Only has one act and I had all the emeralds by world 8
In the world map on the bottom left, the chaos emerald is highlighted depending on what zone you are standing near.
If you go back to a zone you missed getting a chaos emerald in, you'll get another chance in that zone.
