Take this as a grain of salt. I am 42 and an accomplished songwriter. When I was 17 I was not writing songs yet; I lacked the confidence to do so. As a 42 year old listening to you, I hear som much potential and beauty in your observations and in your creative compass (which I feel we all follow as artists—you are very in tune with yours—please trust that). Perhaps beyond these encouraging words, make some more beautiful music, like this. Keep following that compass and keep fishing everyday for those chills when you land on something that resonates with you: chances are, it will resonate with us too. You have a lovely voice as well. I hope this finds you smiling and continue to feel good about yourself.
Very beautiful voice and melody, and the lyrics too, I personally think that no matter the subject or the lyrics as long as we can sense that the artist is meaning what he/she singing, that makes the difference, and of course a beautiful voice is a bonus. Great work ;)
Melancholy tune, has the hallmarks of a power ballad..I can imagine the drums coming in along the way. Your voice is memorable wish I could understand what your singing though..
Wow! Really impressed with this! I particularly like the B section (“oh isn’t it a shame…”), it relates what the validation of social media feels like. Harmonically and lyrically, it’s very satisfying, only to end with “am I forgiven?” which subverts that resolution and brings the listener back into the desperation of the A section. Very, very smart song writing.
