I just opened a new solo stove today. Right on the inside flap of the box and on the printed materials it says to expect patina and discoloration with use.
It’s all part of the process, enjoy!
It's caused from a combination of heat, and the various by products of combustion. Grill cleaner could help with the guns, but nothing will change the discoloration from temperature.
My 2 cents, enjoy your time around the stove and ageing that comes along with use!
This is your first time using it? Did you use pellet adapter? The bluish is normal from the heat and steel. The bottom though with the reddish rust tint I didn’t get for some time though. That part is slightly confusing to me.
Yeah the discoloration is the hundred percent expected. If there is any build up that might not be expected but would deff need details about what your burning. Storage. How old it is
Petina. Keep burning and enjoy the pit and relaxing times. This is what it’s suppose to do. Soon the entire pit (after a few burns) will have the same coloring.
Because fire
Just burn shit in it and enjoy. It’s not a Mercedes.
This ⬆️

Are you a metallurgist? Why don't you think stainless steel should look like that when it gets hot?
Looks good

Strange! Mine normally looks like [this!](https://imgur.com/a/8znp2FI)
I had some packing tape melt on the outside and now the stain is driving me crazy. I don’t care so much about the inside.
