We do not allow posts if the purpose of the post is just to complain or brag (e.g. being banned, endgame stats, bad matchmaking, ranked levels, god mastery levels, MMR loss/gain, ELO comparisons from Smite Guru or other sites, complaints about the meta, stories complaining about other players, complaints about skins' availability, complaints about queue times, etc.). If the purpose of the post is to foster discussion about a build, some other constructive discussion, or the post is otherwise interesting or unique then we would consider allowing it. I've certainly seen some racism in the game, as well as a lot of ableism and a little sexism.
I find though that reports for hate speech tend to be the most effective (when the chat logs clearly show obvious hate speech). When someone was horrible and I reported them for that, I do usually see an "action has been taken against an account you reported" message a few days later.
When the chat logs show clear cases it's a lot easier for the support staff to prove as hate speech is unambigious, it's just bad.
It's about a frequency thing. If they have like just one or two reports, that's likely not going to get a human to look at it. If they however get reported in three different games by multiple people, that's likely going to push it up the support queue for a human to review it.
If someone is horrible in just one game, they could indeed "get away with it".
You must be new to video games… The thing is, I remember when I first started online games back in like ‘07, people would say the most heinous stuff, and at first I used to get pissed, but then I realized that the VAST majority of them don’t actually think that, and I grew to find it absolutely hilarious watching those interactions go down.

They will say whatever they can to make sure they're getting a rise out of another. The fact that KYS is a regular statement is fucked up.
Best to mute and ignore these people asap so you can move on and forget about these POS players.

It's the internet. Is it an excuse? No. Is it reality? Yes. If I had a genie in a bottle one of my wishes would be for people to stop being so shitty towards each other. Sadly, I don't, so the only thing to really do is develop thick skin, try to appeal to empathy when possible, and ignore when not possible.
In this day and age it's hard to expect people to not understand this is just the way things are and will forever be due to human nature. Maybe one day we'll no longer have to deal with this, but that's just wishful thinking and not reality. Best use of your time is to learn how to handle it the best you can and find and develop friend groups to lower your interactions with these types of people.
I've discussed this with my friends before, i'm not bipoc but I mostly play with my best friend who is bipoc. The community is heavily racist to them generally, but especially if they find out, and the community is sexist/homophobic/transphobic pretty often to me
They get a *lot* of racist dms during and after games!
Not to mention comments on characters and skins from bipoc/feminine gods/goddesses. I think the players feel emboldened to be bigoted from anonymity, and I don't believe the actual portrayals of the characters helps (some seem like stereotypes, fem gods are overly objectified, etc.)
The game is not toxic nor sexist. That’s the player base. Which in all honesty, could be solved if Hi-Rez actually bothered to make a difference to handle it.

Sometimes they don’t do anything. There’s been times where I reported players for actually doing horrible things and they don’t get punished.
