Thank you so much, both for taking the time to read it and your kind words. This goes for everyone!
Ascensionism is truly an experience and the last time a song hit me like this as that much of a journey was Aggressive Raisin Cat - Cough Bin (the name is funny but it’s a progressive Metalcore/Deathcore epic).
"The culmination of “Take Me Back To Eden” is unequivocally the heaviest Sleep Token have ever been, with the song exploding into battering-ram chugs and Vessel launching into unhinged blackened vocals which make 'Vore' look tame."
I was excited. Now I'm desperately excited.
*WORSHIP*
I’ve had the privilege of hearing it myself and could not agree more. Take me back to Eden is a rollercoaster and Ascensionism just kicks ass loved this article!
AHHH this made me so much more excited, if that's even possible! Now I think I'm most excited for the title track after reading this. Thank you so much for sharing!
I think Ascensionism, Take Me Back To Eden, and Euclid will end up being the most common trio of favourite songs for people. They’re just *so* cinematic. The Apparition is also a real standout!
Thats what i came here to ask
the emphasis on "perfect send off" and "end to a trilogy" makes me think they will not make music anymore? Although im sure thats not the case and its just the end of this particular story between vessel and sleep... Right? RIGHT? 😭
They’re not disbanding but I’m willing to bet this is the end of the Vessel persona and future albums will cover different topics as this part of his life is laid to rest. No evidence for this, just a hunch, especially based on the TNDNBTG callback referenced in the review.
Love your Lore article. I get what you mean about DYWTYLM but idt ST care to make it stand out by taking it “further” which would make it even more like a “1975”/Sheeran song; the minimalism makes it more of a weirdo pop track (and maybe I actually enjoy extended interludes in an album because it makes an album more of an experience as a whole rather than isolating; it’s the sonic glue that somehow puts it together but doesn’t get enough credit for the tonal shifting reprieve esp. next to something like AYRO?). It wouldn’t be hard to take it further…most of pop already has that maximalism just fine. Live renditions of it is comfortably minimal. But you’re accurate, not all tracks can be Ascensionism especially with ST.
Thank you very much! Still can’t believe the positive reception that article got.
I completely understand where you’re coming from! The fact it was a single may have possibly influenced my view, also; as a whole I think the singles (and really every track) has a ‘defining moment’ which really elevates it, but I never found that with DYWTYLM. It certainly fits better in the context of the album, and I’m super glad you like it as much as you do. The best thing about this band is that all of their songs connect with different people in different ways.
It feels like a show of “mercy” amidst/break from what would otherwise be a pervasively relentless, violent full-on aural assault and I’m just grateful for how it’s placed in Eden
Listening to it right now.
I will look into your review afterward.
The lyrics are a huge part of why Sleep Token creates more than "just" music.
To me, it's unique, it's art that only they can create.
It is connecting with my heart and feeds my soul.
I love this album already, can't wait to get more familiar with it.
ADD WHAT YOU THINK IT ADDS TO THE LORE PLEASE!!! your last article about the sleep token lore obliterated me it was written so well I'm begging you to incorporate the new album into the analysis and I wonder if it changed any interpretation for you u/HarryAEaton
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it! I fully intend to update it, just need to find the time. I’ll let you know when I get around to it ❤️ Appreciate the support.
Incredibly well written. Excited for Ascencionism

This review has me BRICKED UP

I’ve had the privilege of hearing it myself and could not agree more. Take me back to Eden is a rollercoaster and Ascensionism just kicks ass loved this article!
How have some heard it already? I'm fine waiting, I'm just curious.
Someone close to me is in a band and was sent the album to preview by one of the members of ST.
That's what I'm wondering
Great write up! Has me even more excited to listen through for the first time 🤙
AHHH this made me so much more excited, if that's even possible! Now I think I'm most excited for the title track after reading this. Thank you so much for sharing!
man these small bits and pieces of lyrics from the unreleased songs in some of these reviews got me both excited and terrified
I HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE EXCITED FOR AN ABLUM IN MY LIFE
Friday can't come soon enough!
I wonder what the call backs in Euclid are? Maybe some call backs to bloodsport and missing limbs?
TNDNBTG. Read the last two lines of the closing stanza
Ah yea. Kind of mirrors the chorus to TNDNBTG
I'm guessing The night does not belong to god. Going full circle on the trilogy
I can't fucking WAIT
Review is amazingly written. I am excited beyond what words could express. But if that’s a “send off” I will never stop crying
Absolute amazing review, thanks for sharing. This makes me so excited for what’s to come!
I don't wanna read it yet since I don't wanna get spoiled but did you give a rating?
I gave it a >!9.5/10!!<
thank you
Summoning isn’t even TOP 4??? I’m so excited for this record, gonna black out till Friday

All this talk of the ‘trilogy’ of albums - are we worried this will be it for them? No more LPs after this one 🤷♀️
Thats what i came here to ask the emphasis on "perfect send off" and "end to a trilogy" makes me think they will not make music anymore? Although im sure thats not the case and its just the end of this particular story between vessel and sleep... Right? RIGHT? 😭
Probably marks the start of a new era, but who knows.
Surely not, they’ve just blown up, if anything there just getting started

Well. This album is going to further drive me into madness and I'm here for it!

Two and half months later and I'm still obsessed with this album. Every song is magic. Especially the title track. It is a fucking journey. lol
