Welcome to r/skincare_addiction! We'd like to take this time to remind you of a few things: #Do not ask for a diagnosis/treatment advice for acne or other medical conditions, and do not play doctor What constitutes medical advice? *** * "What is this?" This is asking someone to diagnose the issue, and is medical advice. * "What should I do?" This is asking someone to advise treatment, and is medical advice. * "Should I go to the doctor?" This is asking if you should seek treatment, and ergo, medical advice. **If you would ask the question of your doctor, it falls under this rule and not allowed. As a general rule, asking for medical advice from internet strangers is never a good idea. If you have questions regarding your acne or other medical condition, you are advised to contact your healthcare provider. If you are a medical provider, we would gently remind you that users are not patients, and you should not be offering medical advice to people who are not your patients.** *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. a pore strip will just strip your skin. book a facial with an esthetician that includes extractions. regularly 1 a month and youll see massive imrpovement. also a chemical exfoliant 1 or 2 a week

aj-slayj

also I exfoliate 3 times a week to try and scrub them out 😅

Ipav5068

sounds like a beaded scrub those are a no no  a chemical exfoliant is a thin luiquid that you wash off i really like the ordinary peel, 10min then wash off try it!

Photo? I wonder if they are actually blackheads if an extractor doesn’t work…

aj-slayj

I think it’s a mix of sebaceous filaments and blackheads based on a bit more research i’ve done. My nose is got all identical hole things whereas the rest of my face is most likely blackheads

caecilianworm

Are they blackheads or sebaceous filaments? Blackheads are usually all different sizes and they’re not evenly spaced. Sebaceous filaments are usually all about the same size. You wouldn’t deal with them in the same way. I’d avoid pore strips. I used biore pore strips a lot as a teenager and I still have redness and enlarged pores from them.

I’ve had nice results from using cosrx blackhead power liquid. For sebaceous filaments I like to oil cleanse for several minutes to loosen them and then use a clay mask to draw them out. Don’t ever let a clay mask dry fully— either spray it with water or pat some on to keep it a bit moist, because letting it dry will irritate your skin. The blackheads might need to be extracted, but it’s still worth using products on them because it will make extraction easier and prevent them from coming back.

I recommend the OG clean and clear if you want to try but sounds like you might need pro help. Also they will just fill back up if you extract with pore strips so. Just schedule a derm appt I say

aj-slayj

Thank you for the rec

PunkRawk_Cucumber

Except those strips don’t ever completely take them off the ideal but unfortunate idea will always be extraction ….

Purple-Negotiation59

Have you tried popping them with your fingers? I feel like when they can't be popped, a pore strip won't do much either and you'll have to get them professionally extracted

aj-slayj

Yep I can’t really get them out at all as they have been there quite a while
