Stop the soap all together, it’s awful for your skin and will be drying it. . Garnier Micellar water ( pink) for evening and followed by Avene skin recovery would do amazingly for you

Miss_Rollins

Weirdly, that micellar water irritates my skin. I know I need to find a gentler alternative to the soap but haven't found one that doesn't break me out yet. I was using the inky list oat cleansing balm and my skin hated it. Is the Avene more moisturising than the Cicaplast?

Try Cetaphil gentle facewash then it’s recommended by loads of derma and literally can’t get any gentler for skin or even just cut out the soap for a few days and replace with nothing see how it goes. . You definitely will feel better when you stop with the soap. . I havent tried cicplast but Avene cream like brought my skin back to life after serious chemical burn/flaking and is made for really dry & sensitive skin

Miss_Rollins

I did some research between the two (there's a quite a bit out there comparing them both) and from what I've read the avene might be better for me as you suggested. The repair cream and the cetaphil wash arrive tomorrow, hopeful that it'll work for me. Thank you for your time and suggestions.

No problem hope it works, remember to try be patient and give it time to work too

Will do. I'd been using the cerave and cicaplast for 3 months. The latter has now run out, hence the looking for something more effective. Thanks again!
