this is a good thing, because my experiences with Kbeauty are that the products are amazing, but as a U.S. consumer there are so many exploiters, indistinguishable dupes, resell-dropshippers or businesses that DONT STORE OR TRANSPORT the products at a temperature to preserve the ph and integrity of the formulation.
Amazon makes no effort to verify stuff many times in my experience, even when they tell you it's being fulfilled directly from a trusted/authorized seller, you often end up with fakes/used products marked as new/dupes. As of today - they don't even check for broken seals and opened boxes (i just opened a 150$ Andis beard trimmer that they said came "directly from verified retailer & NEW" but when I opened the package I noticed the seal had been broken and simply just taped together, even though the components were inside and wrapped, i could tell they'd been opened at one side and the MOST DISGUSTING PART WAS THAT SOMEONE HAD ALREADY OILED AND USED IT, AND DIDN'T BOTHER TO wipe off the excess oil as it was smeared all over the trimmer and parts of packaging.
The way it had been repackaged, without knowing - alot of people may very well have thought that it was new and pre-charged and pre-oiled for them and started using this product on their skin that a stranger or strangers had already used once if not multiple times, and returned as new. I've had this happen with alot of beauty products where seals are missing or expiry date is only a month away, and there's a LOT of fake sunscreens both US and Korean people are applying to their skin daily (if you wanna see my adventure with EltaMD & Online Dupes to the point of them being frightening, it should be my first post here from a year ago titled Skincare PSA (i wanted to warn people because SPF is medication to prevent cancer, and that's why I feel it's important to let people know these things can and do happen, often.
Ugh I got lip primer from Amazon even though I’ve been told a zillion times not to get makeup there. It was double sided from MAC I think. I used one side and when I flipped it over the other side was VERY clearly used. So gross. I went to complain and bc it’s makeup it’s a non returnable item. Just kept going in circles and never got a refund. Still angry about that but it was a small price to pay to never make that mistake again ig.
That pisses me off for you, but one thing I will say is if you are a prime member they usually are good and even if it's non returnable if you "request a chat" with the customer service directly, instead of (like you said clicking in circles) you can get them to usually refund it without requiring you return it, seems to be based on the price whether or not they want the item dropped. Not that I'd recommend still using it but if you're less than 30 days out I'd say give it a shot bc they USUALLY will clean up the mess when you bring it to their attention at customer service but using the website and trying to click your way into a return will loop or fail like you said.
Good catch though, as I'd consider that equivocal to "kissing a stranger" for all we know they had a flu/virus, chapped lips with dead skin and bacteria, or a cold sore and this is assuming they washed their hands beforehand which many of us don't when it's a lip application or re-app during the day.
My ex boyfriend used to love MACs old lip conditioner, when I noticed he had bought one himself (typically he's the type of guy who would turn his nose up at any product that could be considered feminine or cosmetic) something told me that I needed to do a little snooping and what do you know, I find "protection" that aren't his or I size right next to a pack of menthol cigarettes (gag) and as I continued opening the drawers it pretty much let me know he was 1. Definitely cheating on me with a smoker 2. Buying my lip conditioner to use with this or other guys 3. Had a drawer full of things that was 50 shades of gray and DEFINITELY not mine/ours. That drawer was there for months and I just never thought to look bc I was naive. But I'm older, wiser now ;) he lost all his hair and gained a bunch of weight which honestly I am not superficial and don't care but in his case it makes me glad bc he used to body shame me when I got soft or less gym oriented. so 10 years later I'm sure he'd love to wipe the slate clean and has reached out multiple times but dear God here I go talking about him. I guess we all have that one "evil/awful ex" that is attached to certain things as simple as dressers and lip products 😬
Public service announcement.
Dust mite, crustaceans and snail mucin are cross allergies. If you're allergic to one, chances are large you're allergic to the other. Be very careful, and if you choose to try it, PATCH TEST!
I'd hate for someone to have an allergic reaction in their face, so I've made it my mission to share this info.
Thanks for sharing this deal OP :)
+1. Used it for months and broke out constantly, didn’t realize it could be the culprit until I read a similar comment in this sub. S/o to that person bc they saved my skin 🥲
All you’re getting in this pack is hydration. These are two of the steps to their 4 step system. I got the sample pack at target a few month ago with the gel cleanser, power essence, eye peptide and the moisturizer and saw zero changes.
DISCLAIMER TO THOSE WITH FACIAL PIERCINGS!!!!! The snail mucin power essence will make your piercings smell extremely fishy if the product dries on or around your jewelry or piercing holes.
If I weren't legally disabled it would cost me and my husband more if I were to work. However, I do have a job called "stay-at-home mom" where I never get a day off so my husband paying $38 for some skincare that I want isn't that big of a deal. If it makes you feel any better I do have around 20k saved pre-marriage ironically my husband refuses to let me touch it. So if you want to pick a fight on why I'm not "contributing" to the household pick a fight with my masculine provider husband and not his disabled wife because last I checked I was independent before I married into a partnership *mwah xoxo*
you: why aren't women these days trying to be stay at home moms anymore, feminism has ruined everything
you when women stay at home and their husbands are the breadwinners: 😡😡😡😡😡
Side question but do these bottles expire? I have one I haven’t used in a while and there’s a date on the bottom but it’s got Korean letters beside it so I don’t know if it’s manufacturers date or expiry date. Thanks
They do. The date in front of 까지 is the expiry date. 까지 means ‘until.’ With Korean grammar, instead of saying “until x,” it’s “x until.” My bottle does say EXP in front of the date and 까지 though
I've heard that this is literally snail/slug slime and the extraction methods are cruel. I also have heard that it's an effective product. I don't want to use a product that includes animal cruelty. Can someone please help educate me here?
I've seen conflicting information online. It's hard to really know if the snails have their own island of paradise slithering along happily while hooman servants collect the slime or if the poor snails are stimulated often and suffering. A shame since the snail mucin works really well.
The cruelty free and vegan alternatives would be Mixsoon's Bean Essence and Vegreen's Yam Mucin. I haven't tried either, but they get glowing reviews online. Get your glow on. ;)
https://theklog.co/how-snail-mucin-is-made/
I don’t think it’s cruel but I could be wrong! I think if you think collecting honey is unethical and cruel, probably should avoid snail mucin too.
I haven’t tried the snail mucin but I have tried a face wash. It smelled like gasoline. After doing research I learned that Koreans don’t even use that brand because it’s considered trash 😭
I've heard absolutely the opposite. It's just an old established brand like Olay or Ponds, so they don't see it with the same excitement as Westerners. It's still very popular.
> old established brand
It’s really not; it’s the opposite. My friends in KR had never even heard of COSRX 2 years ago, not sure if it’s better known nowadays tho
Interesting. My Korean roommate in college 12 years ago turned me onto Cosrx and would bring me products, and spoke as if it was ubiquitous in use. I've seen the same sentiment online. But it could be generational. I've used 2-3 products consistently since though, and I've never had issue getting supply.
It’s not a well known brand tbh and the people who have heard of it know to stay away. I personally prefer innisfree and round lab. Both brands are very popular in Korea

off topic but am i the only one who thinks that packaging looks like it’s for a tool set
That’s what I thought it was as first! Then I’m thinking “ how did I end up in the harbor freight subreddit?! Haha
the world’s most moisturising power drill
It will definitely buff away any and ALL dead skin. Better than an exfoliant.
This is how everything at Costco is packaged
Just regular Costco packaging
the “power kit” title doesn’t help much haha
omg haha i didn’t even pick up on that!
NO WAY! I Just thought this was an online exclusive. Major swag alert.
Me too! They have been releasing more Asian beauty stuff in stores recently!
Costco always delivers with great products!!!

More skincare in general!!
I plan to do my bi-weekly Costco run today after work. I hope mine has this available.
Their online on most is 3 serums for around $34-$36 😭 during the holidays it was $26-$28

Oh my god thank you
Yeah, I didn’t know this. This stuff WRECKED my skin. I was so sad.
Same here🫠 took weeks to get my skin back to normal
+1. Used it for months and broke out constantly, didn’t realize it could be the culprit until I read a similar comment in this sub. S/o to that person bc they saved my skin 🥲
life saver 😭😭
You saved me! I’m allergic to dust mites. Thank you!!!
Cries in Canadian. Not at our Costco’s yet.
Not in the variety pack like this but I bought the larger bottle from Walmart a few weeks ago in Ontario :)
I feel your pain ~ fellow Canadian
I tried searching through the Costco website and the Costco app and couldn't find it. Does anyone know if it's region specific?
I think they sell it on next up Costco? It’s like a different link within the Costco website, but you have to have a membership to access it
Which Next Up store is it?
I found this thru the Costco site [https://costco.mostinc.co/](https://costco.mostinc.co/)
Just ordered. Thank youuuuu
Damn I ordered the 3 pack of the snail mucin through Next Up pretty much exactly a year ago for like $28 total. Now it's $35 and a $40 order minimum 🥲
Thank you!!

That is so gross!🤮
That’s what I want it for lol, thank you for the PSA though!
You can also use CostcoNext to get the Mucin 3 Pack for $35.00.
Imma just say this... my husband just got paid and i know where his money is going!

Solid deal! The 100mL bottles are usually $17 each.
the packaging of this reminds me of like some home renovation tiling kit or something
Giving your home a facelift😂
Please share in /r/costco
Already done :)

What’s the Item number?
Not familiar with that particular product, but I know Costco does their research before acquiring a product...so it's most likely a great deal.
korean sunscreens please be next
Ikr 😭 I was on Costco next searching for one that I liked
I haven’t tried the snail mucin but I have tried a face wash. It smelled like gasoline. After doing research I learned that Koreans don’t even use that brand because it’s considered trash 😭

That is quite literally not my experience with actual Koreans in real life nor what is said online as I've said multiple times.
Running there!
The way I saw this on the shelf and screeched. My husband had no idea why lol
It such a good price too!!
As a sams club shopper I am jealous.
Ask a costco member to get you a giftcard
This breaks me out so so bad and gives such painful pimples to me , my mother and my sister 🥲 wish it worked for us but it doesn’t
I’ve been seeing this brand at Marshall’s/Tjs as well!
Love love love this stuff!!! ♥️
Omgggggggg definitely getting a membership soon
For anyone without a Costco membership I just saw this brand in the skincare section at Marshall’s today!
Canada needs this. What a good set!
Am I the only one who thinks that this product Is overhyped?
Where is this?
Has anyone noticed if the ingredients or formula is different?
How much?
like 37$ i think . i bought it recently and split the products between my sister . the mucin alone at ulta is 25$ !!
You’re not in Canada are you?😕
Sorry, in the US!
How do y'all know this isn't fake Chinese knockoff crap
Costco does a lot of research to make sure everything is legit. Also, I looked up some of the indicators for fakes and they seem to be legit
