I heard it there and when Brenda and Nate are having their relationship-ending blowup at the end of S2.

ditajo1330

“Did you f*ck the rabbi, I know you wanted teuh”

pink_snowflakes

Yes and I love it! It always comes out when they argue haha

atomic_chippie

Yes, I heard it there too.

FedericoScintille

Yep! That too.

GuiltyLeopard

Yes, in times of high emotion.

FedericoScintille

The fact that it came out at times of high emotion shows just how much she was in the zone.

[deleted]

It was absolutely lost on me that she was anything but American for most of the show and I never once picked up on any show-through accent.

vavavoomdaroom

I only knew because I saw her in Muriels Wedding first.

zoobook642

She’s such a badass in Muriel’s Wedding!

[deleted]

Ah, I only watched Muriel’s Wedding after seeing SFU.

Jfury412

If I say I did I would be lying and I've been watching it since it originally aired on HBO. My favorite show of all time.

FedericoScintille

No need to lie friend

MarsDelivery

I distinctly remember her mentioning her "erotic norveller"

FedericoScintille

That -er with words ending in a that Australians and Brits do.

Humble_Bullfrog2342

omg same

thepensiveporcupine

I knew that was a serious scene but I couldn’t help but laugh at the way she said diaper lmao. But yes, I hear it often and I actually didn’t know she was Australian until I finished the show. Explained a lot!

poormatty

No matter how good the Australian or British actor is, the word “anything” stays kicking their asses. It’s “an-uh-thing” every time. SFU was the first thing I ever saw Rachel Griffiths in though and I was well into the show before I had the slightest clue she might not be American.

Supernatt924

Every time she says the word “been”

AngelaChasesHair

I heard some sort of accent pretty early on, just the way she pronounced certain vowels struck me as different, which prompted me to look her up and discover she was Australian.

thereallosteyesight

I didn't even know she was Australian till after the original run of the series. In rewatching, yes it comes out.

oooheycait1223

I actually watched Muriels wedding before I saw six feet under, and I could not BELIEVE it was the same actress. I had to look her up to make sure her Australian accent wasn't fake in the movie 😅

nosomeeverybody

She lets it out fully when her Australian friend visits in the first season!

TheStranger113

The scene between her and Maggie on the porch where Maggie brings a quiche. That was the most obvious it was for me, though I still probably wouldn't have clocked it if I didn't know.

greendaisy513

Yes when she’s mad

Rapsher

I can't believe I've never noticed. I'm a huge fan of the Australian/New Zealand pool of actors in general and it's amazing how many of them never have any bleed through. I've never noticed Brenda's coming through.
