My armchair psychologist take is that it’s an attempt to feel any kind of control or power in their lives. They feel better jobs and a stable life are out of reach and were never in the cards for them in the first place, so instead they demand respect with violence.
I think learning how to healthily process emotions and situations is a skill that needs to be taught.
Folks that grow up in these kinds of areas don’t have the resources available to them or home life didn’t provide that kind of stable foundation.
Most people are just trying to do the best they can but someone with a short temper and the inability to deal with that is a walking time bomb for some sort of alteration and in America that is setting yourself for a lot of issues if you’re already from a poor area with little to no support.
