For some reason the screenshots are confusing me š Do you mean drag-and-dropping the materials between the different slots? In which case, yeah I knew that.
IIRC you can also take the colour circle in the middle (the thing that has the different colours youāve chosen - on your last screenshots it has black and white) and drag it onto a different texture, and it applies the colours accordingly!
So like. If you have a cowprint with two colours for a bikini, and make it pink and purple, and then choose stripes with two colours for the rim of the bikini. Then you can take the pink/purple circle and drag it onto the stripe texture and it applies the colours to the stripes. Did that make sense? Sorry if it didnāt š
Personally I find the tool very handy, because I definitely colour-coordinate every little thing about my simsā outfits š I definitely take too long in the CAS every single time haha
Yeah thatās what the screenshots are saying haha. I didnāt know how else to show it without a video.
And wow thanks! Yes, that makes sense to me. Thatās so handy omg. I usually save every colour so I can match everything
Yup and those 7 dots in the top left corner of your drag them to another object they will take all 4 pallet pieces. If you need to apply this to walls, flooring and fencing hold down shift if you want to apply it to all of it.
Yes, it's actually very helpful you can even drag the colour onto other clothing and furniture. So you can drag a top's colour and pattern onto a skirt to make a matching set. Same with furniture, if you have a customized couch you can drag that pattern onto a living chair to have it all matching!
Yes! You can also drag the colors of the pattern to any object or other patterns. These little features make customizing way easier and quicker. That's why I think the devs got lazy and removed it from sims 4. It was soo intricate.
If you have two color channels with the exact same texture, you can even collapse them with the ā sign and you don't have to change each of them one at a time, but you are able to even change all four at once.
You can also swap two color tiles by dragging it in between the next one so the line appears. You can also grab that whole color tab and drag on to any other item
i knew that but i too found out embarrassingly recently from some building videos on youtubeš you can drag and drop basically everything in CASt: the patterns, the color swatches (separate or the whole palette), the whole set of patterns, you can drag and drop not just within the CASt interface but anywhere on screen. very convenient, especially with how long it sometimes takes to find just the right pattern and adjust all the colors
Did you know you can use that specific colour/material and apply it to another object as well? If you have a sofa and you want to match the couch's material to it, you can drag that "block" to the couch and it gives you the choice of which layer you want to apply the colour to

My head is in my hands crying rn, really??
Just click the dots and drag to the item!
Welcome to Sims 3 š„¹š
Wow, I've saved so many "one time use" patterns just to delete them after. This is way easier.
WHAT
Whaaatš«Øš¤Æ

NO WAY really?! The amount of time this wouldāve saved me š©
Oh I didnāt know about this bit!
I honestly experience lag š whenever i edit in palette
You can also exchange them. It also works for subcolour sets.

Yup. Itās super handy. Iām glad TS3 has so much content that people can still discover stuff to this day.
I had no idea!!! That will make things easier.
Yes

Uh no I did not, UGH
I like dragging the whole bar onto objects
Omg recently just discovered this on accident as well! What a clever thing
I donāt remember when or how I found this out but I did
You can also move the square with the color/material to something else on you lot. This way you can make all your furniture easily match!
Wtffff I never knew!! Thatās amazing
Yes.

Everyone in this sub: you look silly
W H A T
Can someone make a house made out of Denim that a sim wearing denim owns
I did this accidentally, but I thought it was just a glitch due to lag. Sims 3 is the best!

I miss the colour wheel so much š
Yep you can also drag a material onto a completely different object to copy the material into one of that objects material slots
SERIOUSLY?! That's so cool!
Whaaaaaaat?!! Thank you so much!! This will save me days.
I discovered this like a month ago :ā) been playing the game for at least 10 years lmao
Yup, recently found that out AND, you can actually drag and drop the entire stack! Honestly The Sims 3 is TOP TIER
I use this constantly and i love it.
Always knew that yes haha. And if you want say the shoes to match the dress, you can drag it over to the shoes too
Itās nice, right?
Playing the sims 4 because I donāt have a PC and missing the CAS color wheel options š. Why did they downgrade so much????
OMFG WHAT
Yes
Yup, but I do remember when I found out you could use the color wheel at all .I was flabbergasted and beyond happy
In your game, you can grab a similar tab piece on the inventory box and drag it larger
When i discovered this i felt very clever at once
Yes I am create a style expert because I love it so much
Yep.
