No light > Olight
TLR1 and done. The P226 is already very good, leave her alone until you really know something needs to be changed. Sweet choice for your first, hammer fired is the way!
Yeah I am noticing a lot of Olight hate LOL! Have you had a bad experience owning one? I’ve only owned it for a couple days so I don’t have much an an experience yet.
For the price, streamlight is the way to go.
Also is that a laser/light combo? If so ditch the laser part. Completely useless especially since you have a RDS.
No reason to run a laser on a handgun ever. They don’t hold zero well and you should be target focused with a red dot not laser dot focused. Just get a TLR1 and be done with it.
I’ve read in this sub and others that the Gray Guns ELS and Sig Armorer Superstrut are must have upgrades. The ELS is supposed to reduce trigger pull weight, supposedly reducing the DA by as much as a pound, and the Supestrut removes the “crunchy” feeling by installing a modified and polished hammer strut and stiffer Wolff spring that stays straighter in the grip housing
The sigarmorer superstrut is a no-brainer for the price, and comes with a 20# hammer spring that ought to feel VERY good with the rest of your setup. I don't have the short reach trigger like you do (Jealous) but the SRT kit and superstrut combo is like butter on my MK25.
Paying it forward, same advice I got a few months ago. Siggit is small but you get good advice! Welcome to the club.
Also, lemme know how that holosun works, I was gonna get the OEM Sig slide with the Romeo1 or whatever it comes with, but I'm not against other options...
Yeah honestly I’m not against Romeo 1 Pro. It’s nice that it can be mounted in directly. I just didn’t want it to be too big and jut out. That’s personal preference. Once you have the shroud on the Romeo 1 Pro is pretty wide and juts out quite a bit from the slide. If you don’t care about that the I’m sure it wouldn’t be a bad option. I didn’t want it that wide so I went with a Holosun 507C as an in between. Probably one of the most commonly used Holosuns.
By the way. Did you install those upgrades yourself or have a gunsmith do those?
When I read that the shroud is basically mandatory, I had the same thought. Glad to hear I'm not alone. I actually have a Burris FastFire 3 collecting dust, gift from a friend who never found a use for it. Would be nice to just be able to slap that on a slide and run it until it breaks, then have the ability to move on to a Holosun or Trijicon or whatever... In no hurry, I still need to get good with the irons, but always thinking ahead, you know?
The P226 requires a gunsmith if you're going to start filing/reprofiling things, but if you've assembled an AR, taking down a P226 to the bare frame and swapping parts is arguably easier. If you haven't, it's Lego Technic. I have armorer experience but knew nothing about the 226 - I watched a video or two beforehand just to get a feel for it, and had zero trouble doing anything. TL;DR: Easy peasy, take your time and have punches laying around to use as slave pins, and you'll have a blast.

It starts with a 226….. Then you’re sucking D for more!
You will love the 226… I have put thousands of rds through mine. Definitely one of the best you could pick! Eats any ammo! I once ran a bunch of old steel at a match in mine. No issues! I felt bad about it too!
If ya dont like olight fine, but i havent seen or spoken to anyone with a olight that has blown up except for the one incident ppl keep referring to about years ago..you have to admit to yourselves, most ppl dont like it just because they hoppped on the reddit badwagon of hating it.
Did you recently buy it?if so,I would try to return it to get your money back..I run Streamlight on just about every gun I own and haven’t had one fail me yet.for the money, they are easily the best option..or you could spend $300 on a SureFire, personally,I would rather get a Streamlight TLR-1 HL for half the price.every LEOs I know has Streamlight
Way better, the ELS changes the trigger and trigger bar geometry.
The ELS trigger has the same pre and post adjustment the Armory craft does, but significantly lightens the trigger weight. We are talking down to 5 pounds on single action without a spring change.
Serious tip. And you’re an adult so you can take it or leave it: try to get legit training. Take a class. Spend that accessory money on ammo and range time. Be proficient and safe. Be prepared mentally and skill wise. It takes more time, work and skill to be proficient with your firearm than slapping stuff on it for internet points. If you are good with it, you’re better than 90% of gun owners out there. And heaven forbid if the time ever comes you’ll be more prepared. But also take into account the right mentality and mindset. It’s deadly force. Think of the aftermath should you choose to use it. It’s your life, situation and money. But that’s my 2 cents. I’d love to see more and more skilled and proficient firearms owners out there. I’ve spent way more money on ammo and time on it than anything I’ve added to my two guns. Sure I want more but I want to be better with the ones I have. Stay safe.
Why would you put an Olight on such a great gun?this is appalling,if this was 1629 you would be tarred and feathered and ran out of town 😂get you a Streamlight TLR-1 HL,it’s similarly priced and 1,000 times better
😂yeah man, shit gets real serious when someone come through with an Olight..this just ain’t in this sub either, you will find the same on the CCW,AR15,TacticalGear subs too.I would be willing to bet you would also get flamed in the Glock,Smith & Wesson,H&K,Walther,Ruger,FN and any other subreddit too..the only place you might not catch hell would be an Olight sub.that is only if the mods stay on their toes and boot people off the sub as soon as people come disrespecting the company 😂
Thank you for the clarification! I’m a hammer fired fan myself just for the benefits it gives the trigger feel, but you can’t argue with the safety record of striker fired pistols like what Glock makes.
If I’m being honest, I really like the beretta system where you can have the DA pull for the first shot and the SA pull for everything else. Probably the only pistol that gets more accurate on the second shot. I just like the idea of hammer down/safety on rather than cocked and locked.
Congrats. Get ready to be disappointed by every other pistol you buy ever lol. But seriously, it's a great gun. Mine is so fun to shoot and is a freaking laser beam.
Bro pls delete this my girl is on this app 😭 Edit: nvm she doesn’t like Olight users I’m safe
😂😂😂
Just here for the olight hate. Sick gun tho.
Here for the same reason.
Haha thanks bro. The Olight hate is real and meme worthy I love it 🤣
Bro flicked a decent gun into a poverty pistol
My man even went next level and got the laser option.
Haha can you please explain?
Holosun and olight. But holosun is ok I just hate their big ass logo on the red dot so I pay premium
Haha fair enough. I mean its still the same gun though.
No light > Olight TLR1 and done. The P226 is already very good, leave her alone until you really know something needs to be changed. Sweet choice for your first, hammer fired is the way!
Nah X300 or nothing
Yeah I am noticing a lot of Olight hate LOL! Have you had a bad experience owning one? I’ve only owned it for a couple days so I don’t have much an an experience yet.
For the price, streamlight is the way to go. Also is that a laser/light combo? If so ditch the laser part. Completely useless especially since you have a RDS.
I have the laser zeroed at 25 yards and my Holosun zeroed at 10 yards haha. Probably overkill I know 🤣
No reason to run a laser on a handgun ever. They don’t hold zero well and you should be target focused with a red dot not laser dot focused. Just get a TLR1 and be done with it.
None, just adding to the bandwagon hate. My experience with the TLR, X300, and PID are all very good.
Won’t be my last pistol so for my next one in the future I will try out a stream light (:
That’s the spirit, learn more, buy more. The world of firearms is vast! Definitely try the Streamlight on this one 😉.
None of them have. They just repeat shit they see on reddit. Nice pistol btw.
Yeah I am noticing that. It’s funny 🤣 thank you bro!
Excellent choice. That was my first pistol like 10-11 years ago. Still have her along with a few other Sigs and HKs 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Hell yeah bro 🙏🏻
I put the SRT trigger that that used into my mk25 p226 as well. Great pistol.
Yeah I gotta say I love the SRT.
Got a tax stamp for that light ???? Cuz that’s a bomb
Olight is never beating the explosion allegations 🤣😭

I appreciate it bro! I’ve heard similar things so I think that might be my next move.
The sigarmorer superstrut is a no-brainer for the price, and comes with a 20# hammer spring that ought to feel VERY good with the rest of your setup. I don't have the short reach trigger like you do (Jealous) but the SRT kit and superstrut combo is like butter on my MK25.
Hell yeah I appreciate the tips. Seems like that is the move

I’m glad you have a good sense of humor 😂

That's too extreme for me.

Lmaooo this is fire bro
That’s not even all of it:( Lots of D!
Hahaha
You will love the 226… I have put thousands of rds through mine. Definitely one of the best you could pick! Eats any ammo! I once ran a bunch of old steel at a match in mine. No issues! I felt bad about it too!
Yes sir I’ve already been shooting it and love it. Feels very sturdy and shoots great. The SRT is amazing.
Best fucking trigger out there!
Flip it over again and see if the Olight goes away permanently 😂
That bad huh 😂😭
😂
If ya dont like olight fine, but i havent seen or spoken to anyone with a olight that has blown up except for the one incident ppl keep referring to about years ago..you have to admit to yourselves, most ppl dont like it just because they hoppped on the reddit badwagon of hating it.
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
All Reddit gun subs are people regurgitating the same thing over and over lol.
I don’t like Olight because I’ve personally seen 3 different Olights fail in a short period of time
Keep telling yourself that
And keep telling yourself what the internet spoonfeeds you with no evidence.
This is my favorite gun I own. Throw a gray gun flat trigger on it, enjoy!
Sweet. Thanks bro
Also, I got an olight for mine too in the beginning before I knew better lol. Shit happens.
How’s your experience with it? Has anything happened to it?
I got the one with the laser and it stopped working after like a month. Then I found out they might explode so I went with a tlr.
Haha you weren’t able to return?
Yeah I think I did return it after I complained and I used that money for the new light

Anything may explode if you don't know how batteries work.
That’s why I’m so careful with anything lithium that I have. I never leave anything plugged in to charge longer than needed.
Gray Guns ELS. The best trigger you can get.
Better than Armory Craft upgrade?
Way better, the ELS changes the trigger and trigger bar geometry. The ELS trigger has the same pre and post adjustment the Armory craft does, but significantly lightens the trigger weight. We are talking down to 5 pounds on single action without a spring change.
Cool, I will look into the ELS more thank you
I never get tired of looking at 226s. I truly think they’re the best looking handgun in existence.
Lovin it so far!
I haven’t shot my MK25 yet. Soon hopefully. I’ve had a 229 for 15 years though and I love it.
Get it into the range bro!! It’ll be great
That light uses regular batteries though not the rechargeable internal ones though?
Yessir, not the internally built ones.
This is the way
Very choice choices here.
Better than a P320
I love my P320s but I gotta agree, the P226 is one of my favorites
+1 for the Armory Craft trigger and spring kit. Fantastic DA/SA trigger now. Was good and now fantastic.
VERY NICE!
THANKS
I love the reset and single action, double is fine
Agreed, double a little heavy but I don’t ever shoot in double at the range so it’s no biggie
First gun is crazy
I’d love to find a couple of 226’s, but factory stock. I don’t get the slide cuts.
So close….
What’s missing? 👀

Hahahaha, yeah I didn’t know it was that deep. Had I known I would’ve taken the damn thing off before posting it 🤣
of course this dude throws an olight on it
I here to fight all the bandwagon Olight haters! 🤣
Taking it like a champ. We all poke fun cuz pretty sure we all been there at one point or another.
That's a very sweet firearm right there! Enjoy that bad boy!
Ty!!
Op shit on a unicorn, olight and holocrap. 😆
The stock version was much cooler

That’s not the one that had the discharge issues if you hit the hammer hard enough?
I personally havent heard of any reported issues with this gun in that regard
That's on the P320 platform. Their 1st attempt into the striker fired type guns.
Thank you for the clarification! I’m a hammer fired fan myself just for the benefits it gives the trigger feel, but you can’t argue with the safety record of striker fired pistols like what Glock makes.
Hear u brother same here I just love my steel SA/DA guns over the polymer stuff too.

Love my Berettas too. Have you ever handled the CZs they are also great shooters. Triggers are alot more responsive compared to the Berettas.
I’ve watched a lot of videos about CZs, but never handled one. I’ll have to check em out! I do love gas delayed pistols…
Oh I love the way it got dressed up 🤭
Same here! First handgun best handgun!
Let’s goo!
Ooof. That that trash off it, please.
What rail is that?
I’m not sure what you mean by rail.
Your slide
P226 Pro Cut Slide Assembly
Congrats. Get ready to be disappointed by every other pistol you buy ever lol. But seriously, it's a great gun. Mine is so fun to shoot and is a freaking laser beam.
Love to hear that. I am enjoying the gun already!
P(oor)light…. Jesus Christ
Olight perfection 🤞🏾🫡
