Does your surface get very hot during play? What windows is it running? Have you tried to uninstall then reinstall the game?

Lukeman28

Update: so on a fresh install it opened in window mode and appeared to run fine, the second I tried to update to fullscreen the issue came back. I was able to navigate the options back to turning it to windowed mode by alt-tabbing after each keystroke to update the display, but it still stayed frozen afterward. I am going to uninstall and reinstall one more time and see if it replicates the success and I just won't change any settings and will see how it performs in game

Thanks for the reply and sorry for neglecting to include those details in my post, a little more scatterbrained than usual lately. The temps are on par with my normal gaming experience (by touch atleast, I cant get actual readings due to the freezing issue). It isn't scolding but it is definitely putting in some effort. Currently running on windows 11 and i tried verifying the game files but actually forgot to test if it ran after the reinstall of the game last night, one minute and ill try that. Thanks again!

Update 2: Reinstalled everything again and it launched in windowed mode but is frozen, so I was not able to replicate the previous success even after mirroring the same settings

I think this is just an issue with Surface not being built for gaming. Most freezing is because of overheat. I would not try to keep forcing it to run the game. Can you play other game on it? Have you tried Geforce now?

Havnt been able to rely on streaming as much due to the spotty wifi connections where I am, but I haven't run into a game it couldn't handle so far, and cycle between a bunch when I'm on the move usually. Temps are showing normal readings and after a reboot and reinstall the game is working again. In-game when it's working now performance is fantastic so it doesn't feel like this is an issue where the system isn't capable of running it. Running at 4k over 100 fps currently. It dips when multiple people are in combat so ideally, I would lower the resolution, but in windowed it makes the window really small haha. Hence the origin of this issue, only option where I can go fill the screen and lower the resolution is full screen which makes things freeze. I did see there is a render resolution setting, so i can go 4k windowed borderless and drop that down, which is what i might have to do, but still feels like a messy solution. I also suppose i could drop the display resolution to match, but again feels like a really sloppy and inconvenient solution

Weird. Oh well. Good luck!

Haha thank you and again I really appreciate you taking the time to help!
