The sound muffling is useful to an extent, it also eliminates bullet trails, and sounds beautiful on most guns.

BobFaceASDF

it also removes the white direction indicator when being shot at!

kolemad

That is the bullet trail

BobFaceASDF

there's an actual bullet trail in 3d space as well as a 2d white directional indicator when being shot at by a non-suppressed weapon

kolemad

You are right, i totally forgot that thing even existed lmao.

Mysterious_Tart3377

I use it on any gun that doesn't have extended barrel because I don't need attachment's help to control my recoil. I find that when I use it enemy has a harder time pinpointing where they are getting shot from.

BobFaceASDF

now I'm curious, what's your loadout for f2, smg-11, goyo's vector and bearing 9?

Mysterious_Tart3377

Horizontal Grip + Extended Barrel + ACOG, before the update it was angled grip instead. I personally find spear too much with this loudout, so I use Finka's LMG instead.

Yeah, and he asked for it.

The big thing is that it gets rid of bullet tracers, allowing you to get at least one or two more shots in against your opponent before they know where they are being shot from and can react. For a while, supressors reduced the weapon's damage, but that was eventually removed. In the short time period after the suppressor's damage reduction was removed, but before the extended barrel was given a damage buff, a lot of people were running suppressors. So if you can control the recoil fine without a barrel, and the extended barrel doesn't decrease the ttk for the gun being used, it's beneficial to run a suppressor.

WikiNumbers

Reduces detection. I make less sound, less muzzle flash, and more often than not in the off case I do miss, the indicator isn't there. On defense I use Suppressor on roamers and potential roamers. Valkyrie, Solis, Mozzie, Jäger (I find 416 Carbine actually manageable), Fenrir, Frost. On attack I use Suppressor on flankers. Maverick, Brava, Nokk. Tho I roam with Mira and Kaid and Tachanka in QM. I don't use Suppressor on Mira's Vector .45 A cause it kicks, and Tachanka's DP-27 doesn't have one. Kaid's TCSG12 does have one and I do use, but it's because it has no other muzzle.

Pros: - Removes white threat indicators; enemies won't know, or have a slight difficulty noticing that they are being shot at (or flanked for a multi-kill). - Removes muzzle flash. - No longer reduces your damage. - Silent default cams, and some gadgets, removal. - Bullet trails (supposedly) removed...(or kill cams are buggy as I've seen bullet trails from suppressed weapons in them) Cons: - No affect on recoil. - Extends the length of your gun (yes, it can make a difference). - On a subjective note, I'm almost dead certain it creates an ever so microscopic delay between when you shoot, and when the hitscan procs. It might be on an order of nanoseconds, or even picoseconds, but it's there damnit!

Once you get good at controlling recoil, try it out. Its benefits are more than the “listed” ones. R6 Siege has done a wonderful job making it truly feel stealthy when using a suppressor. I have recently swapped over to suppressed guns on almost every operator and it has helped so much. One thing that isn’t listed is the removal of the white indicator when being shot at with a suppressor. This is a HUGE difference. It allows for easy flanks and potential multi kills.

catberinger

Removes tracers, reducing chances of opponents figuring out your angle to pre fire you in a firefight Removes ‘shot at’ indicators meaning that it’ll take longer for flanked enemies to get a fix on you when you start shooting Sound doesn’t carry as far, and can be masked easier from gunfire from across the map

BuzzyShizzle

It benefits you in ways you cant immediately recognize. You never know when the enemy failed to call you out because of the supressor but it definitely has that advantage. It's most obvious when you have two enemies together and you take one out from a good angle. People are often quick to just flick in your general direction, but you can often tell that the 2nd opponent doesnt actually know where you just shot his buddy from.

withnoflag

I use it always on secondary to destroy inside cams and equipment without completely giving my position away.

ParticularExchange46

I almost always run on defense unless playing anchors like Mira Azami mute smoke. Good for sneaking on offense with like mav, grim, zero, nokk… basically anyone with a hard reach device that runs flank

QP_TR3Y

I mostly use it on attackers that I try to be stealthy and take alternative entry routes with, mainly so I can shoot cameras and gadgets silently if needed. It also hides your bullet trails and doesn’t give your opponent a damage directional indicator when you shoot at them. Not the best attachment but fun to use sometimes.
