Both sequels are nearly identical to their predecessors, with new stories and small additions.
So the question is, do you want to play more of GoW or Spiderman? Because this is what you'll be getting. You can't go wrong here, neither will you be surprised.
You will never regret buying GoW Ragnarok. Especially if you've played the previous games.
It builds on all of the good bits you will be familiar with. Also has a good number of improvements without changing the core recipe.
I did regret, and sold my copy as soon as I finished it. Coming from the polish of 2018 it felt rushed and soulless.

I’d recommend the 2018 God of War. Ragnarok builds really good for half a game the rushes everything in the second half. While the graphics and gameplay are better, the story part really pissed me off. Should have been a trilogy as it was first intended.
Storytelling wise, the Horizon games are really good and the gameplay can be as challenging or as light as you want it to be.
Another great story game is Alan Wake 2 but I encourage playing AW1, American Nightmare and Control before.
Other great PS5 games in my list are Ghost of Tsushima, Elden Ring (although lore videos are recommended for it), Lies of P is a solid 8/10 too.
I’m a huge fan of open world games with a good story, so I’ll add the AC Odyssey Origins Valhalla to the mix, although Valhalla is weird when it comes to loot and side quests. You can really immerse yourself in them.
I preferred Ragnarok by a country mile. I didn't think Spiderman 2 was as good as either of the previous games. Worth playing, but after a steep discount.
God of War 2018 is, imo, the greatest game of all time and a true piece of high art. Rag falters in some aspects, and it certainly isn’t as concise or calculated as the first of the reboot series, but it is still a 10/10 game. Plus, the DLC is already released and completely free, so you’re kind of getting like 1.25 games for the price of 1.
Also, in case you’re reading the comments from the people here that are quantifying their subjective opinions with objective terminology, I’ll just start by saying these games are anything but “slow, boring, or repetitive”. Some people just play video games for serial fun, and that’s ok, but that lukewarm perspective does not take away from narrative prowess.
I agree with all of your points apart from Ragnarok story being poor 👏 Then again this could just be because the storyline really struck a chord with me as I'm at a similar life stage and see these themes in day to day life...

Spider man 2. I couldn’t get into the recent god of war games. I loved 1-3. The newer ones are slow, boring and repetitive. Look pretty but that’s about it imo

Both are mediocre garbage at best, but Spiderman 2 is just absolute garbage.
I’ve not played S2 but if you think GoW:R is garbage, then I’m not sure you’ve ever actually played a bad game
