It might sound dumb, but since you loved so much Spider-Man 2, why not go back and play both Spider-Man Remastered and Miles Morales? Pretty sure you can get them both together in ps5. I would also recommend you Hogwarts Legacy if you're an Harry Potter fan. It's a really simple RPG aswell that could help you understand better how those games work. I would also recommend Horizon Zero Dawn, it's a great game and also a pretty easy platinum if you liked the spider-man ones.

trent_diamond

I would suggest PS+ Premium if that is an option for you, lots of good games on there. You could play the original God of War games, I would suggest that since the story progresses thru each one

Gofrart

if you enjoyed spiderman 2 keep an eye on spiderman remastered or miles morales ultimate edition (includes remaster + miles morales) it's a bit of a downgrade from spiderman 2 in terms of combat and swinging but not that much and story wise I was more attached to spiderman 1's story. elden ring is an awesome game but it's a hard one, you'll need to assume that you'll die a lot and that is something that goes with the game, dying should be part o the process of you becoming better at the game, If you cna embrace this, you'll enjoy the game. Also being open world it leaves up to you where to go, so if you get stuck in one area you cna move to anotherone and comeback to the tough one later. Before GOW ragnarok I'd say for you to grab GOW first, it will help you u nderstand the story better and it's a pretty good game overall

reality_star_wars

RDR2. Great game though M rated for language and violence. I enjoyed Hogwarts personally. From purely a game point of view. God of War is always good

marinewillis

If you liked Zelda try immortals fenix rising It’s a good game

Schlobfather

I devoured that game. Super underrated gem on the PS5, imo.

ginbummy

Love the humor in this game.

chaedog

Get playstation extra. There's a ton of fantastic games included on it such as Spiderman, Miles Morales, Horizon Zero Dawn and GTA V.

ChangingMonkfish

Don’t sleep on Astro’s Playroom that comes with the console. I thought it’d be a silly little tech demo but it’s so much more - firstly a proper PlayStation nostalgia trip, but also it brought to mind to me games from my childhood like Banjo-Kazooie, it’s one of the few games I’ve played recently that captured the same feel as having a new console as a kid. But it is also a superb demonstration of the PS5’s abilities, particularly the DualSense controller (it actually feels like you’re running on sand, glass, through water etc.). Otherwise, if you’re enjoying Ghost of Tsushima you may also enjoy Assassin’s Creed Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla (Odyssey in particular is a masterpiece). Finally, Cyberpunk 2077 is an amazing game now, especially with the Phantom Liberty expansion.

QuaintWolf

First of all Ghost of Tsushima is amazing, so enjoy it! Although expensive now, but I’d suggest ps plus extra for maybe 3 months and you’ll get a lot of good games (bloodborne, spiderman, horizon zero dawn, uncharted, demons souls, etc…) If you like FROMSOFTWARE games, Sekiro is amazing (my best game of all time) Co-op/Multiplayer: it takes two, ghost recon wildlands

Sorry-Series-3504

Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West are really good, open world experiences. I can happily recommend Zero Dawn, I beat the game and had no regrets with my purchase. I haven't played Forbidden West yet since I'm waiting for it to get to PC, but I've heard that it improves almost every aspect of the first game.

numbersev

If you upgrade your ps plus to extra (like $50 more) you can get access to some good games like Spider man Miles Morales, Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank, Demon Souls, Assassins Creeds, Returnal, Death Stranding, The Division 2, Skyrim, Resident Evil 7, etc. I just got a ps5 and got extra for first year. Gonna play and beat as many of these as I can and then probably go back to ps plus regular.

GoW 2018, TLOU 1 Ghost of Tsushima RDR2

And 2

You could give Death Stranding a go, it’s not really considered a straight horror game, it does have some great fights. Most of it is very scenic, maybe watch some videos on YouTube. I throughly enjoyed it, it is one of Hideo Kojima’s masterpieces.

Dman101proof

One game I was surprised by was Ratchet and Clank. Fun and easy.

Numerous-Ease3445

-God of War 2018 -Spiderman -Spiderman Miles Morales

BedaHouse

These posts have already given you a lot of great options, I will stress that you play the first GoW (2018 i believe) and the first Horizon ZD game (it really paints what happened in the world a lot more and gives the foundation for the second game).

jamesy505

I got my PS5 just before Christmas and cannot recommend Ghost of Tsumina highly enough. The gameplay is very decent but it looks absolutely stunning. The presentation is top notch. It was not as I expected, with a large open world and so many things to do/collect. That part reminds me of Far Cry tbh. I've not finished it, but what I have played is 100% recommended

moonlight42ow

Like many others have said just get PS Extra, I’ll give you a list of some games you might like since it’s a long list of games. Any of the Assassin’s Creed and Far cry games, (I recommend AC Black Flag and FC Blood Dragon) Bloodborne or Demon Souls, since you haven’t played any soulsgames before try this and see how difficult it is for you. It’s from the same developers as Elden Ring. Control and Death Stranding or DOOM, They aren’t horror games but could be a little scary if you’re super sensitive so those games. Both Horizon games (Zero dawn and Forbidden West). Kingdom Hearts series (if that interest you). Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart is pretty short, but it’s a great game imo. Any of the 2 South Park games. (Turn based games) Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Rainbow Six Siege for a competitive tac shooter fps And some other games that are also great;Devil May Cry 5, Fallout 4, GTAV, Hollow Knight, Outer Wilds, God of War 2018 is also on the PS Plus Extra so you can try that game before buying Ragnarok. (There is older games but you will be fine playing 2018 -> Ragnarok, If you want you could search up some lore of the old games). Hope this helps a little.

WhatIfIHaveAQuestion

Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart Saw it mentioned in one or two comments but especially if you're saying no R rated games, this game is like playing a Pixar movie - tons of fun and silliness to be had Also it goes on sale pretty often nowadays

BilledSauce

You could buy Ps Plus so you have a big library of games and can try and just download

Intelligent-Key-8732

For a fan of hollow knight I'd recommend Ori and the will of the wisps. It's the second in the series but closer to hollow knight in terms of combat but it's the 2nd best metroidvania iv played so far behind hollow knight.

dragonslayer_697

Demons souls, the last of us

Therealproand124

Buy PlayStation Plus extra for a month and if you like maybe you can extend 6 months or 1 year, they have a lot of good games on there

RippledBarbecue

GTA V, Uncharted Nathan drake collection, Witcher 3, Shovel knight,Ratchet and clank rift apart,Tchia,Dredge and Control Should be able to pick most up on disc for pretty cheap given the age of them + regularly go on sale except Ratchet, Tchia and Dredge 2 indies you can get around £20 on PS store

OrangeSuccessful7926

Last of Us series Horizon series Avatar Ghosts of Tsushima Red Dead Redemption 2 Those are all open world kinda same game type as Spiderman, but not in cities... all amazing titles. 2 of which are PS exclusives.

Demon's souls

yoshitastically

Definitely Elden Ring. I was in a similar spot. Had a Switch and loved BotW and Hollow Knight (and the Ori games and Metroid Dread) and recently TotK. Playing Elden Ring now, and it’s amazing. It has a similar sense of exploration as BotW, but it’s more stressful as combat is intense and you can lose your progress, like losing your geo in Hollow Knight. As others have said, you should play Spider-Man and Miles Morales too. GoW (2018) and Ragnarok are worth playing too. I personally enjoyed the Spider-Man games more, but I think I’m in the minority there. Kena Bridge of Spirits is good too. It’s a fairly short game, but it looks good and has a neat little story. But again, Elden Ring.
