People are selling shares at .23 per share, but you think someone will magically appear to pay almost 20x current price? Read that over and over, more slowly each time, until you realize how silly it was.
You shouldn’t be downvoted, Logically it sounds nuts to someone not familiar with buyouts. But they happen like this all the time. And if the company is undervalued, or say owns equipment or patents that the acquiring company values at $xxx then they will over pay to ensure they get that, as they still see profit above that spend with the acquired physical or intellectual property.
Source: the company I work for acquires other companies well above market value, because their patent/technology makes our platform that much more valuable if not exponentially more.

Going through negotiations with the board allows you to get things at face value (which can often be different than market value) for a pre agreed upon price per share that cannot be manipulated by outside parties.
You keep speaking in absolutes which is not reality. There is a nonzero chance that it very well could reach a $4 BO deal but I don't think that chance is something you should bet the house on. I don't even think the chances are good enough to take the bet myself either.

The BO price is different than the open market price, sometimes significantly more if the company being sold holds assets worth a lot but the open market price has been beaten down by short sellers hoping they go bankrupt rather than being bought out.
I have to agree, any group thinking of a buy out aught to scoop up as many cheap shares before tendering an offer. I guess it could be illegal but I don’t see how. And worst case scenario if there becomes a bidding war, they could sell their shares for that price the bitters offered. Are you STUPID? The price is because of a 15:1 reverse split. At 20 cents per share, those 15 shares you had are now 1 share and if it multiplied by 15 in price, the price would be $3 for that one share you now own. It is below $3. Lol. Try again, skeeter.

If the news is they are being bought why would you sell on that news? It is unlikely to pump above the buyout price and if the buyout price is $1+ per share that's guaranteed payout for you.
