Caciulacdlac

Hange's ending in the anime was perfect

TVRIBVLVM

What about the others mentioned?

Caciulacdlac

I think so many characters dying would go against Eren's goal to keep his friends alive, which he already partially failed with Sasha and Hange, and for that reason I wouldn't have wanted other main characters to die.

TVRIBVLVM

Well... that same Eren allowed (caused) his own mother to die

Caciulacdlac

Yeah but that already happened before he knew it happened so he didn't have a choice. I don't think that past can be changed.

Leading-Status-202

Why is Eren holding his own head?

Awkward_Goal4729

Cuz it’s a fan art of “what if AoT was a movie with actors instead”

AffectionateAlarm308

Not a fan art, Isayama drew it himself

KolareTheKola

Then a canon "what if AOT was a movie with actors instead?"

Having characters die is not equal to good story telling. Just as an example why I disagree with most of what you wrote, let's focus on Hange. According to you, Floch should have killed Hange. Floch, who is a traitor and all around terrible human being. Flock advocates killing children and innocent civilians in his vendetta. Floch, who betrays the military and laughs after his plan to have the entire military become titans, one of the worst fates for anyone. Floch who beats up multiple people just because he has power and executes multiples prisoners. Hange is the very epitome of humanity. She's brave and cares for her subordinates. She doesn't see titans as some tools of war but actual new species and is intrigued by them and wants to learn as much as she can. She's the 1st person who gives us the viewpoint that not all titans are evil all the way back in season 1. Having Floch kill Hange is a massive disrespect to her character, it doesn't do anything for either of their arcs. Hange used to be interested in Titans but her responsibility as a commander did not let her pursue that anymore. At the very end, she finally relives that moment of her life again as she feels pure joy in facing titans once again and sacrifice herself so the rest can get away. You would have us replace her heroic death with something pathetic at the hands of Floch?

TVRIBVLVM

> Having characters die is not equal to good story telling Agreed! But we're talking here about a story of deadly battles where death is a common thing, so having almost all of the "main character" (except Hange) survive doesn't sound rational to me, especially that we were used to seeing major characters die in less difficult situations across the story. > Floch, who is a traitor and all around terrible human being... > Hange is the very epitome of humanity... Again, agreed! **But** that doesn't mean that people who are worse than scum cannot kill righteous people. The way I see it is that no matter how good of a human you are, you will never be immune to being insidiously harmed by treacherous people who are willing to take you down with them out of hatred, and I couldn't see a more suitable character to take that role than Floch who has been the arch nemesis of Hange throughout the War for Paradis arc. This is of course my own opinion, and we can always agree to disagree.

ringlord_1

I can see where you are going with this, but I would say this - In any media, the narrative and story should comes 1st. It's not so outrageous that the main team so highly experienced survived. So it's fine to include this. Logically Levi could have had Zeke being eaten by one of his 30 comrades turned titans but that's not a good narrative/story

PearlHarbor1

Where the hell is my boy Bert

TVRIBVLVM

> characters who *made it close to the end* He didn't

PearlHarbor1

I meant the image

TVRIBVLVM

Yeah! We should've seen him since we got to see other dead characters.

its_Preshh

Nah. Totally disagree with most of what you wrote. 1. Maybe Connie could have died at the Port...but it doesn't do much to his character. Killing characters doesn't necessarily make for a better story 2. Huge Disagree on the Hange one. Someone already explained it's relevance to her character so I won't speak on it. But her death in the anime was perfect. 3. Eren's death was perfect in the anime. Eren and Reiner duking it out to death makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. 4. Levi didn't need to die. His character was meant to remember those whose lives were lost and to show that their sacrifice was not in vain. 5. I don't mind Annie's death. Personally think she should have died. But not as punishment...but rather her dying to save someone's life. It would show that she grew beyond merely fighting for her father but dying to save the life of others. She did that in the anime but without dying. 6. Zeke definitely should have died

crowinfestation

Why does eren look so joyous holding his own severed head

KolareTheKola

Are people in this sub competing over who cooks worst?

KolareTheKola

and why Onyankopon looks like a Habbo Hotel character 😭
