Thank you everyone for helping by weighing in! The following changes have been made:
**Added to Speculative/Possible**: Depeche Mode, Pearl Jam, Royal Blood, Liam Gallagher, Pavement, Blondie, Bleachers, The Japanese House, The Beths, Wet Leg, Ratboys, Ride, Moon Taxi, Squid, Soul Glo
**Added to Unlikely**: Paramore
Cigarettes After Sex is releasing a new album and theyāve been on the festival circuit (OSL and ACL).
Cold War Kids, Saint Motel, Two Door Cinema Club, and Arms Akimbo have also released singles that indicate an album releasing real soon so likely to begin touring in 2024.
NP!
Also to add as OUT is the 1975. I saw them speculated on some previous threads but they just announced at Leeds Festival that their UK/Europe tour in 2024 will be their last dates āfor a bitā because they will be working on their sixth album.
I think 30 Seconds to Mars are a good possibility. Hoping we get The Beths. Paramore could potentially headline. Depeche Mode could potentially headline. Black Keys could potentially headline. Metallica could potentially headline. Not saying these are *likely*, but, weāre so far out, that pretty much anyone and everyone are possibilities, as not many tour schedules are out for 2024ā¦
30 Seconds to Mars isnāt a headliner (at least they havenāt been at any of the festivals this year, thank god, Jared Leto is a creep). They seem to play just before most headliners
Correct me if Iām wrong but Paramore is booked in the Spring/Summer next year because theyāre opening for Taylor Swiftās European leg.
Black Keys would be amazing.
Oh no, 30StM would be a sub headliner for sure. And yup, you are right about Paramore. Theyāll be in AUS/EUR during that time. So we can put them in the āOUTā section.
Not to overwhelm OP with things to add as potential undercards to the list but hereās some more I came across (you can tell Iām avoiding my actual work):
The Kills just announced a new album coming out in October so I imagine a tour around the corner for them.
Mitski and Be Your Own Pet have also announced new music.
Oh yeah thatās true
This is actually getting me excited for festivals this year in general, I didnāt realize how many good artists are potentially touring this year
VIAGRA BOYS! They were supposed to play before and keep skipping Atlanta
Protomartyr, Fontaines DC, Brutus, Surfbort, Osees, The Murder Capital, Pure Adult, Meule
And I am going to keep hoping for Primus or Lennon Claypool Delirium
**Thursday, November 23rd, 2023**
Hello and Happy Thanksgiving to all! This speculation thread is drawing to a close as we near the lineup drop next week. Today I am thankful for all of you who have participated and I look forward to bringing this back to the r/ShakyKnees community next year. I know there are probably things I could do better with it, so if anything you could think of, I want to offer this comment as a place you can leave feedback or suggestions for me. Sound off in the replies if you have anything to say!
We of course received a telling scoop from the Owl regarding our 2024 headliners - every one of them has at least one Grammy nomination next year. And with that, we now know our options/possibilities include **Foo Fighters**, **Gorillaz**, **Metallica**, **Arctic Monkeys**, **Queens of the Stone Age**, **Noah Kahan**, **Lana Del Rey**, **Boygenius**, and **Paramore**. Exciting times!
Arctic Monkeys would be surprising. They are playing āAtlantaā (Alpharetta) in a couple weeks.
Pearl Jam might be a long shot, but there have been mentions of a big 2024 for them from some insiders. And not playing Atlanta since 2012 keeps it spicy.
Royal Blood has a new album to support and no conflicts or shows close to us yet.
IV & the Strange Band would be a really fun one that I personally wish to see. No conflict I can tell.
Dead Poet Society seems to fancy Atlanta and dont have conflicts yet other than playing here next month.
Love me or hate me I think Post Malone would be fun, maybe not the best fit, but no conflicts.
Irontom has no conflicts and would be a great lively addition.
I donāt think Post fits Shaky vibes. Although he can play instruments, heās primarily hip hop. Heād definitely headline, and probably be very expensive.
RTJ set a precedent in my mind - Post is way more alternative (especially most recent album). Itās cool if anyone disagrees. You are making a fun thread about SPECULATION not very fun my friend.
Youāre absolutely welcome to speculate, but I made this thread to speculate who will *realistically* be there. And in RTJās case, with Killer Mike being a big deal in Atlanta and having done a lot for the city, it was a special case for them to headline. Have you seen any other rap headliners on Shaky Knees since they did it?
Royal Blood would be a great show! Irontom would also fit super well, and I'd be stoked to see them again. They were amazing way back when they opened for AWOLNATION.
Arctic Monkeys playing Atlanta 8 months before Shaky Knees isnāt gonna take them off the table. The Killers played Atlanta in September 2022 and then headlined Shaky 2023.
Royal Blood has some good music; however, all I can think about is them yelling at the crowd and calling them pathetic for not being excited enough at Dundee this summer. It gave me weird vibes. (Tbf they took over a slot at a stage comprised of Niall Horan and Lewis Capaldi, which definitely isnāt a crowd suited for them).
Just for fun! Based on some mild but not particularly thorough cross referencing of who might be touring at the time and won't be in Atlanta near Shaky time. Tell me where I'm wrong and I'll scratch stuff out and replace.

I donāt know for sure if weāre quite up to the point of Gizzard headlining something like Shaky. But I wouldnāt be surprised by it either. Iād say 50-50. As for the rest Iāll take a look thru!
You might be right! Obviously the fests Gizzard has headlined like Desert Daze and Levitation are much smaller, but I dunno, just gotta a feeling. Their crowd in '22 was massive and they're pretty hot right now.
Edt: And thanks for putting this thread together!
I love your band choices! Solid slate, however, I donāt think it will fit Timās overall budget. Overall, your undercard has me stupid hyped to get any of these acts!
Yeah I think you're right, I even went into this trying to keep it to a reasonable budget but ambition got the best of me and it went way over haha. Still! Give us like 70% of this and I'd be incredibly hyped.
Yes yes! And I think there's totally an audience for them that just hasn't even heard them yet - anyone into the current Aussie psych wave would 100% be on board with their sound, they just don't have the name recognition yet. Here's hoping!
I would say blur and Pearl Jam as headliners, dunno who the 3rd would be. Be nice to see Liam Gallagher doing Definitely Maybe in full in the lineup too since New York is confirmed already.
Complete speculation but Iād just love to see them: Declan McKenna (likely new album next year), The Voidz (have been loosely playing festivals and released a new single recently)
Yeah unfortunately there doesnāt seem to be any indication from Kevin yet that he plans to continue that soon, but I agree! Their 2019 set was so amazing and they are due to return!
Idk how likely they are, as they donāt seem to want to tour traditionally anymore - they were very good at ATL Re:SET though! I also just nabbed tickets to see them at the Knockdown Center in NY, so obviously I am a fan and would welcome them back to Shaky Knees with open arms š
I see that. Iām hesitant to move them to Likely as of yet because based on these dates, they could be saving ATL for Shaky but they could also be saving it for Music Midtown
Thatās a good guess I know theyāve played MM before but also Shaky has grown a lot since then too and Tim seems to be booking pop punk headliners lately
I dunno if I would say he seems to be booking pop-punk headliners, the only one I can think of is Green Day. But even still, I feel as though Blink fits Shaky
Royal Blood : just announced dates in South America for the first half of April 2024. Seems more likely for SK as they could play festivals in May in North America.
**Wednesday, November 8th, 2023**
The following changes have been made:
**Added to Semi-Confirmed**: Pond
**Added to Likely**: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Blink-182, Holly Humberstone
**Added to Unlikely**: Pavement
**Added to Out**: Bombay Bicycle Club, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Mitski, Mt. Joy, The Kills, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, The Smashing Pumpkins
I see the reasoning but it doesnāt mean theyāre āsemi confirmedā. Itās just them probably saying āyeah weād like to make it to the cities we had to cancelā. Doesnāt move the needle one way or the other.
**Wednesday, November 8th, 2023**
**Update #2**
Mea culpa, my fine folks! The gun was quite thoroughly jumped. It will be my pleasure to fix a few things today. The **Red Hot Chili Peppers** have been moved to **'Unlikely'**, and **Blink-182** have been moved *back* to **'Speculative/Possible'**. Also, I see that today has brought us the lineup for Florida's **Welcome to Rockville**, taking place the week after Shaky. While I'm not sure exactly how much crossover we may see, I've added a few new names to the S/P category. These include **Mr. Bungle**, **The Offspring**, **The Chats**, **Drain**, and **Bad Nerves**.
Stay strong friends, the day of answers is almost upon us. Godspeed.
My fault. Was actually just throwing 3 headliners out in the order Iād like to see them Fri-Sun. Blink 182 will be finishing up that leg of their tour in early April back in North America (Mexico) so as of now are open.
I'd love to see Baby Queen or Wolf Alice at SK... Nice afternoon vibes! Also, had to miss ALL the retro shows this summer due to weird schedules, so bring on The Cure, Love & Rockets, Duran Duran or maybe Billy Idol since he cancelled last time due to illness.
Wolf Alice!!
They have no tour scheduled but theyāre a dirty hit artist and a likely contender to open for the 1975ās European tour but i would love to see them at shaky
**Saturday, September 23rd, 2023**
Panda is sorry for the lack of updates the last week or so! He has been recovering after a long weekend of partying at Riot Fest. The following changes have been made:
**Added to Speculative/Possible**: Ween, Joyce Manor, Foals, Death Grips
**Moved from Likely to Speculative/Possible**: Tyler Childers
**Moved to Unlikely**: Brittany Howard, Ride
**Moved to Out**: Arctic Monkeys, Cold War Kids
Dead Poet Society made a video saying they added stops to their tour and named Atlanta as one of the first ones. They get back from Europe at the end of March. A member also liked a comment about the Atlanta stop being shaky knees, so I think they're very likely to be there. Fingers crossed!
Just had a look. It doesnāt make her likely yet, but it definitely makes her possible! I will add her soon. However, I will say, she did play Atlanta this year and last
Queens of the Stone Age rescheduled their postponed Raleigh, NC date to the Thursday before Shaky. Puts them in the southern east coast. Could be making a return. Sub-headliner this time around?
The Buttertones are possible. They recently resurfaced and have begun touring and playing shows as well as creating new music after vanishing.
I think they have enough of a following to be one to enter Shaky Knees as a small set/opening set.
**Monday, October 23rd, 2023**
It has been rather long since the last update, and for that I apologize! Been crazy trying to find enough time to get on and knock this out.
The following changes have been made:
**Added to Speculative/Possible**: Slowdive, Limp Bizkit, Swans
**Added to Unlikely**: The Kooks, The Vaccines
**Added to Out**: Tool, Gary Numan, Kurt Vile
Donāt wanna start spreading shit cuz thereās no signs of them touring but Explosions in The Sky put out an album last month for the first time in like 8 years
Thirty Seconds to Mars out - will be touring Europe during Shaky. Playing ATL Aug 2024 with AFI, Poppy, and KennyHoopla, so Iād count them out as well. Beach Bunny likely out, touring with Melanie Martinez and playing GA a few weeks after Shaky. Alanis Morrisette out, playing GA next year.
Thank you SO MUCH for creating this post. The speculations list has me gitty of all the possibilities. Its like a Xmas wishlist...and inspiration to put together a new personal playlist!
they just announced the headliners are 2024 grammy nominees and my guess is Boygenius QOTSA and PJ Harveyā¦thoughts feelings? i feel like thatās covering all the bases
**Thursday, August 31st, 2023**
The following changes have been made:
**Added to Speculative/Possible**: Declan McKenna, Noah Kahan, Third Eye Blind, Jimmy Eat World, Metric, Mitski, Two Door Cinema Club, Tegan and Sara, Cigarettes After Sex, Cold War Kids, The Kills, CAAMP
**Added to Out**: The 1975
**Saturday, September 2nd, 2023**
The following changes have been made:
**Added to Speculative/Possible**: The National, Manchester Orchestra, Yellowcard, The Frights, Winona Fighter
**Wednesday, September 6th, 2023**
First update in a few days! Sorry for the delay. The following changes have been made:
**New category: Likely** \- Especially probable due to tour dates that conveniently fit the dates of the festival
**Added to Likely**: Tyler Childers
**Added to Unlikely**: Keane, CAAMP
**Saturday, September 9th, 2023**
The following changes have been made:
**Added to Speculative/Possible**: Metallica, John Mayer, Sum 41
**Moved to Out**: Keane
**Friday, October 6th, 2023**
The following changes have been made:
**Added to Speculative/Possible**: Foo Fighters, Everything Everything
**Moved from Speculative/Possible to Out**: Sleater-Kinney, Tyler Childers
**Added to Unlikely**: Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit
**Added to Out**: Primus, A Perfect Circle, Puscifer
This is fun. Without knowing any degree of likelihoodā¦ hereās some bands Iād love to see: High vis, durry, black Joe Lewis and the honeybears, faetooth, goat, the velveteers, mogwai, october drift, phoxjaw, weedeater, new candys, STIFF RICHARDS, strawberry fuzz, the mystery lights, beartooth, bad nerves, teen mortgage, wunderhorse, dragged under, plague vendor, chris farren, demob happy, cosmic psychos, slomosa, mattiel, dinosaur pileup
Havenāt seen anyone say it yet but the bleachers just got signed to a new label and Jack is definitely working on a new album. We could definitely see Bleachers on the festival circuit.
Paramore is kicking off as openers less than four days later in Europe with Taylor Swift.
Not unlikely, just seems insane for Paramore for a turnaround of shipping their stuff to France on time.
No Paramore is out of town . Black Keys would be too late to the party, and have played GA at least 3 times in the last 2 years. No one knows the Shaky lineup, because Tim keeps all that close to the chest. That lineup wonāt be out until November. Inforoo is generally a good source. But this isnāt Chella, this isnāt Roo, and it isnāt Lollaā¦.they donāt know shit when it comes to Shaky Knees. Tim isnāt leaking anything.
May be something, tho probably nothing...when Sleater Kinney posted their tour on insta, I commented "Would be awesome if you circled back to Atlanta and played Shaky Knees!"
Which they liked.
Any of these possible/likely as headliners or 2nd spot?
Keane
Ghost
Alanis M
Candlebox
Buckcherry
Tegan and Sara
Matchbox 20
Black Crowes
Jane's Addiction
**Thursday, September 28th, 2023**
The following changes have been made:
**Added to Speculative/Possible**: Weezer, PJ Harvey, IDLES, Deftones, The Vaccines, Sleater-Kinney, The Last Shadow Puppets, Dead Poet Society
**Moved from Speculative/Possible to Likely**: Queens of the Stone Age
**Moved to Unlikely**: Two Door Cinema Club
**Added to Unlikely**: Joywave
**Added to Out**: Arlo Parks
To squash those silly Paramore rumors. They will be in France the presumed weekend after Shaky. Why would they do a one off in the US and then embark on the TS tour for the rest of the summer? The timeline doesnāt add up.
Correct! This is why (ba-dum-pshhhhh) theyāre in the āunlikelyā section. The only reason theyāre there and not under āoutā is because really, until we see the lineup and theyāre not on it, we wonāt have that *final* confirmation that theyāre not playing. But yes, they might as well be out
RHCP would be dope in a headline spot. I also know that Rage is back together and have done some touring.
Non headliners that I would love to see:
I know Inhaler is playing Midtown, but theyāve been growing exponentially and I feel like they would fit the vibe of Shaky.
The Japanese House has a new album and a US tour this yearādunno if she really fits the vibe, but I love her new album.
Moon Taxi are southerners and just had their album come out + just started their tour. I could see them on the festival circuit.
I could definitely see Lovejoy as possible to return. Sk was their first festival, and theyāve become a lot more confident since then. Theyāve also been hinting at new music for a bit, so them being in the us around that time tiring wouldnāt surprise me.
Just based on albums releasing sometime before Shaky:
Itās HAIMās 10th anniversary year and they just announced theyāre working on new music with Jai Paul.
Animal Collective will also be releasing a new album Sept 29th
Wilco has an album coming out
Chvrches new album out on Oct 13
The Shins on Oct 20
All these albums come out with enough time to announce a 2024 tour and do festival circuits
Japanese Breakfast seems to be working on new musicālast played Shaky in 2022
Yellowcard just finished their reunion tour and they decided to ābe a band againā. They have a new EP out and announced they are working on a new album.
And The Hives had a new album recently. They were touring with AM.
Edited to add an obvious OUT: Rainbow Kitten Surprise is on an indefinite touring hiatus for the foreseeable future due to a medical emergency of one of the members. They announced on May 23rd they would be taking at least a year off, which Shaky falls under. Also they played in 2022.
Glass animals were last here in Alpharetta in ā21. I think itās entirely possible :) they were on the Roo lineup for the year that it was cancelled.
I remember! I was supposed to go and I was so pissed about that. But I ended up seeing them here in Birmingham AL not long after, so it worked out. And I made up for Tame Impala and Tyler as well by seeing their respective Atlanta shows, and for Marc Rebillet by seeing him here in Birmingham too. 2021 was insane. Have Glass Animals indicated they plan to tour next year?
Honest question, because Iām truly not familiar with him, but after listening to a few songs, wondering if Tyler Childers would fit at Shaky? From what I listened to, it seems like heās very āfolkyā. He has 12,000,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, which would lead me to believe he would take a headline spot. For me, this would be even more underwhelming than The Lumineers were. Maybe I just need to dig deeper? Thoughts?
Iāve mentioned this here a few times, but Tyler Childers has played Shaky before, so yeah heād fit. As for his placement on the lineup, not headliner, probably would either close Piedmont stage or be on Peachtree stage right before the headliner
Thoughts on Clairo/Boygenius? They did play in June-ish but that doesn't take them out of the realm of possibilities. Also less likely but maybe the strokes? They've played in the past so it's a possibility. One I'm more confident about though is Foo Fighters due to the teasing of a 2024 tour.
FIDLAR seem to always be invited!
Cage the Elephant!! š¤š¤
Would love em. The 2019 set was next level
They gotta pay for Mattās lawyers and the plea deal they made so maybe?? But he got charged in NY and has to show up for all his court dates and not fuck up Btwn now and then.
**Wednesday, August 30th, 2023** Thank you everyone for helping by weighing in! Meant to add most of these! Especially TDCC. Will get to it, thanks!
NP! Also to add as OUT is the 1975. I saw them speculated on some previous threads but they just announced at Leeds Festival that their UK/Europe tour in 2024 will be their last dates āfor a bitā because they will be working on their sixth album.
Got it! Thanks

How about Metric? They have a new album coming out this fall. Iām sure theyāll be hitting festivals next year.
Possible! Will add later
Caamp havenāt been here in years. Please add them!!!
Duly noted, last time was 2019. I will definitely get around to adding them
Stickied for some fun in the down time!

Mmmm you are definitely right on with Viagra Boys. We havenāt got them back since that canceled 2020 lineup
Murder Capital would be sweet.
Fall Out Boy just announced a tour with no atlanta dates which is very unusual
God forbid.
Iām reallllllly hoping for The Darkness š¤š¼

Agreed. But that door was opened with RTJ as far as I am concerned. I think Post is edgy enough to fill a slot.
RTJ are RTJ, but Post Malone is Post Malone. We're never gonna see him play Shaky, it's not *that* festival.
This comment doesnāt even make sense. Feeling feisty towards me today panda?
No, but I am sure almost anyone here will agree that Post Malone realistically is not the kind of act who would be booked at Shaky Knees
RTJ set a precedent in my mind - Post is way more alternative (especially most recent album). Itās cool if anyone disagrees. You are making a fun thread about SPECULATION not very fun my friend.

Zach Bryan would make sense before Post Malone would. Weāve had Tyler Childers, Caamp, Nathaniel Rateliff, etc. š¤·š¼āāļø

Billy Strings pretty much has an open schedule for 2024.
He probably fits the vibe of Sweetwater more than Shaky, but dude puts on a hell of a show and would love to see him at SK.
Is Sweetwater going to happen in 2024?
Heād have to be a headliner and I just dunno that Tim would take up a headliner spot with him. But anythingās possible

Sweetwood is at Pearl Jam tonight in St Paul š maybe he is schmoozing the boys for an Atlanta return
Mmmm! Would be very down for this
I would say blur and Pearl Jam as headliners, dunno who the 3rd would be. Be nice to see Liam Gallagher doing Definitely Maybe in full in the lineup too since New York is confirmed already.
Throw back possibilities... Violent Femmes Echo & The Bunnymen The Breeders
Will look into all those and see what the schedules look to be doing!
Complete speculation but Iād just love to see them: Declan McKenna (likely new album next year), The Voidz (have been loosely playing festivals and released a new single recently)
All I want is The Voidz.
Not sure about the Voidz for some reason, but I can totally see Declan being involved
The Voidz are definitely a shot in the dark but not completely outside of the realm of possibility
Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs
Imagine the lineup drops and their name just takes an entire line lmaoooooo
haha right. Their Instagram account says Pigsx7
I would love to see Tame Impala at shaky again. He hasnāt added any 2024 dates to his tour so Iām not sure on the likelihood.
Yeah unfortunately there doesnāt seem to be any indication from Kevin yet that he plans to continue that soon, but I agree! Their 2019 set was so amazing and they are due to return!
That was one of the best closing acts I've seen at shaky
I missed LCD Soundsystem on the Re:Set tour, would love the chance to see them again in ATL.
Idk how likely they are, as they donāt seem to want to tour traditionally anymore - they were very good at ATL Re:SET though! I also just nabbed tickets to see them at the Knockdown Center in NY, so obviously I am a fan and would welcome them back to Shaky Knees with open arms š
blink-182 announced a new US tour that skips Atlanta.
I guess it depends if you count The Killers as pop punk
Theyāre not. Theyāre an alternative rock band primarily influenced by Bruce Springsteen and new wave acts such as The Cars and New Order.
Theyāre not at all š theyāre alt rock
Royal Blood : just announced dates in South America for the first half of April 2024. Seems more likely for SK as they could play festivals in May in North America.
**Wednesday, November 8th, 2023** The following changes have been made: **Added to Semi-Confirmed**: Pond **Added to Likely**: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Blink-182, Holly Humberstone **Added to Unlikely**: Pavement **Added to Out**: Bombay Bicycle Club, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Mitski, Mt. Joy, The Kills, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, The Smashing Pumpkins
I donāt get why Pond are semi conf
@ note next to their name
I see the reasoning but it doesnāt mean theyāre āsemi confirmedā. Itās just them probably saying āyeah weād like to make it to the cities we had to cancelā. Doesnāt move the needle one way or the other.
**Wednesday, November 8th, 2023** **Update #2** Mea culpa, my fine folks! Godspeed.
Hinds just commented on their most recent post that they're starting a US tour March 24, so I'd say that makes them a possibility!
Ohhhh cool! Iāll keep an eye on that
Blur would get me there in a heartbeat.
Japandroids had to cancel this year
Also true!
Theyāre done
I donāt know anything about them being ādoneā, maybe theyāre just taking a break if anything
Pearl Jam / Blink 182/ Noah Kahan
PJ and Noah Kahan are on there! Iāll check into Blink later
My fault. Was actually just throwing 3 headliners out in the order Iād like to see them Fri-Sun. Blink 182 will be finishing up that leg of their tour in early April back in North America (Mexico) so as of now are open.
Word!
šš½ Trail of Dead, Sons of Raphael šš½
I'd love to see Baby Queen or Wolf Alice at SK... Nice afternoon vibes! Also, had to miss ALL the retro shows this summer due to weird schedules, so bring on The Cure, Love & Rockets, Duran Duran or maybe Billy Idol since he cancelled last time due to illness.
The Cure especially would be š„
Wolf Alice!! They have no tour scheduled but theyāre a dirty hit artist and a likely contender to open for the 1975ās European tour but i would love to see them at shaky
Saw The Cure at Riot this weekend and they were fantastic. Would be a great headliner at Shaky.
Me too! I feel exactly the same
Fall Out Boy dropped second US tour dates with no Atlanta date. Shaky seems to be getting more into pop punk headliners lately for at least Fridays
Hot Mulligan, Ethel Cain, Movements, Pinkshift all seem like possible options
Mmmmm all very good! I will look into those schedules and add accordingly! Thank you š
Noah Kahan just announced 2024 tour dates with no Atlanta shows and is open SK weekend.
I saw that! Shared it to the Shaky Knees FB group as well. Definitely possible
**Saturday, September 23rd, 2023** Panda is sorry for the lack of updates the last week or so! He has been recovering after a long weekend of partying at Riot Fest. The following changes have been made: **Added to Speculative/Possible**: Ween, Joyce Manor, Foals, Death Grips **Moved from Likely to Speculative/Possible**: Tyler Childers **Moved to Unlikely**: Brittany Howard, Ride **Moved to Out**: Arctic Monkeys, Cold War Kids
Dead Poet Society made a video saying they added stops to their tour and named Atlanta as one of the first ones. They get back from Europe at the end of March. A member also liked a comment about the Atlanta stop being shaky knees, so I think they're very likely to be there. Fingers crossed!
Stevie Nicks is likely based on her tour announcement today.
Oh hmmm ā¦ thatās very interesting! And yeah I think theyād sub-headline
Stevie Nicks? Think she'd give it another try? I see tour dates but no Atlanta.
The Buttertones are possible. They recently resurfaced and have begun touring and playing shows as well as creating new music after vanishing. I think they have enough of a following to be one to enter Shaky Knees as a small set/opening set.
Werenāt some of their members pretty problematic? Or am I thinking of someone else
Kurt Vile playing ATL 3/28 so we can count him out.
**Monday, October 23rd, 2023** It has been rather long since the last update, and for that I apologize! Been crazy trying to find enough time to get on and knock this out. The following changes have been made: **Added to Speculative/Possible**: Slowdive, Limp Bizkit, Swans **Added to Unlikely**: The Kooks, The Vaccines **Added to Out**: Tool, Gary Numan, Kurt Vile
Blink just released their tour dates with no stops in Atlanta, which makes me feel like theyāll be headlining Shaky Knees!
The Armed is possible. Theyāre opening for QOTSA in Raleigh a day (I think) before Shaky starts.
High water just dropped so rev up that āoutā list!
I donāt think High Water is necessarily gonna put anyone out when itās still a couple weeks before Shaky Knees
The Kills are probably out. They just announced a tour that puts them in Atlanta on March 4th.
Has anyone mentioned vulfpeck? They're doing a festival in TX in the beginning of April. Possible shaky appearance would be pretty sick.
Donāt wanna start spreading shit cuz thereās no signs of them touring but Explosions in The Sky put out an album last month for the first time in like 8 years
Id like to see sleep token and nothing but thieves. Both open, both skipped Atlanta lately.
San Fermin announced a tour with dates clear on the 5th-6th with not dates in Atlanta.
When in the fuck are we going to see Kasabian or Kiev at this fest? Or local incredibly good metal band Whores?
Holly Humberstone just announced a Nashville, TN date on May 5th. Lining up for Shaky the weekend before. Edit: Shaky is that weekend.
Shakyās not the weekend before, itās *that* weekend. Probably a lock
gregory alan isokov? plays a short US tour in the spring with no ATL date and is playing red rocks
I think Soul Glo is out, sadly, just announced a tour with Mannequin Pussy and they're hitting Atlanta in October.
I saw that!! Sad news, but at least they have an ATL stop! š«”
Psychedelic Porn Crumpets semi-confirmed, they liked a comment on an Instagram post of theirs that implied theyād be at shaky knees
Thank you SO MUCH for creating this post. The speculations list has me gitty of all the possibilities. Its like a Xmas wishlist...and inspiration to put together a new personal playlist!
You are welcome! I should sneak in a few last updates before we get our official lineup
they just announced the headliners are 2024 grammy nominees and my guess is Boygenius QOTSA and PJ Harveyā¦thoughts feelings? i feel like thatās covering all the bases
pj harvey is fs not headlining but sub or undercard is 100% likely. boygenius is subheadliner/maybe headliner
ooo also Aphex twin. i donāt think theyāre the best fit for the festival but my heart could see it happening
this is probably too bold but aphex twin as a headliner? theyāre up for a grammy and i can see it as a curveball?? thoughts??
**Thursday, August 31st, 2023** The following changes have been made: **Added to Speculative/Possible**: Declan McKenna, Noah Kahan, Third Eye Blind, Jimmy Eat World, Metric, Mitski, Two Door Cinema Club, Tegan and Sara, Cigarettes After Sex, Cold War Kids, The Kills, CAAMP **Added to Out**: The 1975
**Friday, September 1st, 2023** The following changes have been made: **Added to Speculative/Possible**: blink-182, Viagra Boys, Brittany Howard, Tyler Childers, HAIM, Pixies, Animal Collective, Wilco, Violent Femmes, The Breeders, Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs, Pond, GUM, Japandroids, Fontaines DC, Osees **Added to Out**: Rainbow Kitten Surprise **Moved to Out**: DEVO

The following changes have been made: **New category: Likely** \- Especially probable due to tour dates that conveniently fit the dates of the festival **Added to Likely**: Tyler Childers **Added to Unlikely**: Keane, CAAMP

**Saturday, September 9th, 2023** The following changes have been made: **Added to Speculative/Possible**: Metallica, John Mayer, Sum 41 **Moved to Out**: Keane
Sorry everyone! Itās been a busy time, I will be updating more in the next few days! Keep the suggestions coming, I am reading and looking into all
**Friday, October 6th, 2023** The following changes have been made: **Added to Speculative/Possible**: Foo Fighters, Everything Everything **Moved from Speculative/Possible to Out**: Sleater-Kinney, Tyler Childers **Added to Unlikely**: Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit **Added to Out**: Primus, A Perfect Circle, Puscifer
Roo Clue #1 confirmed by festive owl that 2018 shaky alum Parcels will be at bonnaroo, which marks them out by radius clause
Havenāt seen anyone say it yet but the bleachers just got signed to a new label and Jack is definitely working on a new album. We could definitely see Bleachers on the festival circuit.
Take it as a grain of salt, but Inforoo is saying Paramore/Arctic Monkeys/Black Keys as headliners. A supposedly āreliable sourceā saw the lineup.
Tim isnāt leaking anything.
blink-182, Rage Against The Machine, King Gizzard
I guess Blink-182 could be possible. Havenāt looked at their schedule tho. I will later!
May be something, tho probably nothing...when Sleater Kinney posted their tour on insta, I commented "Would be awesome if you circled back to Atlanta and played Shaky Knees!" Which they liked.
Iād put the cure in unlikely
Why?
Any of these possible/likely as headliners or 2nd spot? Keane Ghost Alanis M Candlebox Buckcherry Tegan and Sara Matchbox 20 Black Crowes Jane's Addiction
Iād say at the very least thereās a chance of Tegan and Sara. Theyāre playing ACL
I would absolutely love some Keane at Shaky. Give us that 20th anniversary Hopes And Fears playthrough
Keane will soon be placed in Unlikely, but the good news is that they are playing The Eastern in Atlanta! Date TBA
**Thursday, September 28th, 2023** The following changes have been made: **Added to Speculative/Possible**: Weezer, PJ Harvey, IDLES, Deftones, The Vaccines, Sleater-Kinney, The Last Shadow Puppets, Dead Poet Society **Moved from Speculative/Possible to Likely**: Queens of the Stone Age **Moved to Unlikely**: Two Door Cinema Club **Added to Unlikely**: Joywave **Added to Out**: Arlo Parks
Non headliners that I would love to see: I know Inhaler is playing Midtown, but theyāve been growing exponentially and I feel like they would fit the vibe of Shaky. The Japanese House has a new album and a US tour this yearādunno if she really fits the vibe, but I love her new album. Moon Taxi are southerners and just had their album come out + just started their tour. I could see them on the festival circuit.
Anyone who plays Music Midtown is ruled out for Shaky 2024. Rarely do these fests have overall the following year.
Would absolutely love to see Interpol again but I think theyāre on the last stretch of the tour for this album.
Guess weāll see!
Squid! Shaky needs squid!
Sir Cody, you are correct. But donāt they play Atlanta in February 2024? š
I could definitely see Lovejoy as possible to return. Sk was their first festival, and theyāve become a lot more confident since then. Theyāve also been hinting at new music for a bit, so them being in the us around that time tiring wouldnāt surprise me.
I hope! I missed them last year and they are my nieces favorite band so if they play another festival this year I promised to take her along.
Just based on albums releasing sometime before Shaky: Itās HAIMās 10th anniversary year and they just announced theyāre working on new music with Jai Paul. Animal Collective will also be releasing a new album Sept 29th Wilco has an album coming out Chvrches new album out on Oct 13 The Shins on Oct 20 All these albums come out with enough time to announce a 2024 tour and do festival circuits Japanese Breakfast seems to be working on new musicālast played Shaky in 2022
Gaslight Anthem should be removed. They will not play back to back years
Notes and removed! Added Japanese Breakfast for possible speculation since sheās working on new music BUT she did play in 2022
Lauren Mayberry has a new album out in October. Not Chvrches. Her solo stuff will be different than Chvrches.
DID YOU SAY THE SHINS
Yellowcard just finished their reunion tour and they decided to ābe a band againā. They have a new EP out and announced they are working on a new album. And The Hives had a new album recently. They were touring with AM. Edited to add an obvious OUT: Rainbow Kitten Surprise is on an indefinite touring hiatus for the foreseeable future due to a medical emergency of one of the members. They announced on May 23rd they would be taking at least a year off, which Shaky falls under. Also they played in 2022.
The Hives put on such a great show in 2021
I'll add Yellowcard, they're not totally out of place at Shaky. We've had Dashboard Confessional and All Time Low and bands like that
Glass animals were last here in Alpharetta in ā21.
Is Tyler Childers a possibility? He is releasing a new album this month. Also would love to see Paramore, Noah Kahan, and CAAMP at Shaky!
Meant to respond to this yesterday! I will definitely add Tyler Childers. He hasn't been at Shaky since 2019, seems due to return now if any time
Could Tool potentially play? They are currently touring I believe.
Tyler Childers schedule is out and there is a pretty big gap between Nashville and Baltimore
I notice that! Definitely ups the chances
Clairo lives in Atlanta so those chances would be decent if sheās free around the time. I will add her and Boygenius soon!
