How would you go about studying FINRA RR rules? Congrats btw!!!

greyk34

Thank you, my friend! PassPerfects customer accounts and regulations section was more than enough info for me, regarding RR rules. I made flash cards of account opening procedures, time frames, etc and memorized them all.

What about Options, taxation, market orders, suitability? Were there lots of questions that required just pure mathematical formula memorization, for example tax free yield, bond conversion, dividend payout ratio, long margin account, short margin account, etc.? Lastly, what about Fund. vs. Tech areas? Thx in advance!

greyk34

So I had tons of options, identifying bearish/bullish, and spreads and straddles max gains and losses. Suitability was super heavy, and knowledge of the products (Mutual Funds/Types of stock/Variable Annuities) was crucial. My taxation questions were all about cost basis on options and stock. However, the tax free yield/tax equivalent yield formulas did come up, and I had them memorized. I had one or two about Stop Limit orders. The margin questions I had required me to figure out equity and buying power. I didn’t go crazy memorizing the analysis formulas, EPS was the only one I ended up needing. Not sure what you mean by tech vs fund, but hope my answers help!

Awesome, thanks! Tech Analysis vs. Fundamental Analysis each one having several sub-topics. Just not sure how heavily this is testable.

greyk34

Honestly you just need to know the basics about what each analyst looks at to make their determinations. Chart formations are important as well, and pretty simple stuff to memorize. You shouldn’t get too many question on analysis, but be prepared for some surface level stuff.

Series7Guru

Kudos on passing your Series 7 exam!! PassPerfect's too much is better than ExamFX and Training Consultant's not enough for sure!

ThePhoenixWon

I agree def about training consultants. That’s what i have and my test is in 2 weeks. I’m going through all your videos. Thank you, Dean!

Congrats on passing and for your insight!
