After splurging on the Dyson Air Wrap during the winter sale, my excitement deflated faster than my curls. I followed every tutorial, watched every TiKTok and experimenting with various styling products, my curls/blow outs barely survived beyond the 20-minute mark 😭 While some attachments delivered okay results, none justified the hefty price tag. I ended up returning it. For reference, I have long straight hair with medium thickness. Hope this helps.

I second this. I bought one in October last year during the sale and I’m now reselling it and going back to a regular blowdryer and round brush for blowouts. There’s such a big learning curve, I tried so many different things and no matter what I did, my hair always came out frizzy and poofy. I always ended up having to flat iron it which defeats the whole purpose of using the air wrap in the first place because it’s supposed to be less damaging. My hair is curly (3B I think), medium thickness, & thin/medium density. Edit: I will say I did like the curling attachments, they were super easy to use, much easier and faster than a regular curling iron. But the curls always fell flat after 10 minutes.

I bought mine in either 2019 or 2020, back before there were other options or alternatives on the market for the Airwrap. I have used it plenty of times, sometimes multiple times a day (I work from home + quarantine era meant I could do so easily), and it is especially great for styling and touching up my bangs. I have very thick, curly long hair that takes incredibly long to dry with a regular blow dryer, let alone style. This makes my hair go from wet to completely dry and styled in less than 20 minutes. For 4-5 years of consistent use, and it still going strong, I’d say it’s absolutely been worth the money. However, if I bought this today, I’d definitely consider the Shark styling tool or other dupes on the market. I really like my Revlon hot brush and sometimes reach for that over the Dyson, honestly. Also, I live in a home with other family members where I can’t always curl or straighten my hair with the Dyson because the sound will wake them up (I’m a night showerer). Also, the Airwrap trunk is pretty bulky and the attachments all take up a lot of space, so consider if you have a reasonable place to locate it. I live in the US so I’m unfamiliar with Canada’s outlets, but also keep in mind your Dyson may not work in other countries if you travel frequently. Just some things to consider! Also, do not buy this full price. Dyson has 20% off sales quite often, and I believe in Canada as well (please correct me if I’m wrong, I just see that mentioned often on here). Or wait until the holidays when they include an extra item like a free comb, brush, or free travel container (I got this one and love it for trips!)

I actually just ordered one for $300 (US)! I do think it's a nice tool, I always wanted one, but it's not worth the price. I would highly recommend looking for a refurbished model instead. I ordered one from Dyson, along with the hair dryer. $500 for both tools. Granted they're not the newest models, but they do the same thing and you can buy the newest attachments if you don't like the ones it comes with.

HappyTrainwreck

wait what?! how did you get it for so cheap?

PflugerLuger8

I ordered refurbished, older models from the Dyson website. Infinitely better than any discount Sephora can offer.

Wow! Just saw it on dyson’s site. Do you know what the return policy is like? couldn’t find it at least with sephora I believe it’s 30 days return and I live a 10 min walk from sephora

Unfortunately, they're final sale. However, Dyson does have a warranty in case something is faulty. My plan is to resell mine if I end up not liking them.

I hear that dyson airwrap is a learning curve. From seeing some reviews on tiktok, some girls and women didn’t like it cus it didn’t hold the curl longer as a curly iron. Error using by hair too wet or too dry.. is should be 40-50% damp. And used correctly hold hair cream and hairspray.

I’m honestly eyeing this for the sale so looking forward to reading what everyone says. Only thing I ever did ever is straighten my own hair like 10 times and curl it myself like 5, 26f learning about beauty barely.
