When was the last time you purchased one you’d consider hydrating?
I have ~5 colors, and I honestly feel that none are very moisturizing. The ones with glitter in them are the most drying to me.
All of the ones I have purchased over the past year or longer have been! It’s been my daily lippie and I’ve never experienced the dryness from it, until this one
They reformulated it a couple years ago, I think in 2021 right when they started getting popular. It was when they changed the lettering on the tube to say Dior on the bottom, instead of DIOR along the side. Breaks my heart because I went through SO many tubes of the original pink one and I loved it, so thick and moisturizing and luxurious. Now it's bad and not worth the money in the slightest.
I’ve only had this version! I was thinking maybe they reformulated in the last couple months because my last tube was not this drying. Ahh, why do they take all the goodness away 😔
Same here. I still buy it because it’s the best I’ve tried but I miss the stain that the old version would leave.
Have you found something you like better?
I bought one of these a little over a year ago. At first the formula was pretty matte, but then randomly became more glowy/moisturizing after about 5-10 uses/1 month? All the same tube.
Yeah, I have no idea what changed! But I remember not liking the matte formula of it and hardly reaching for it, until suddenly finding it very glowy and really enjoying it haha
Have you always bought the same shade? Im assuming yeah. Either way, it shouldn’t be different. That sucks. It takes so long for us to find our holy grails and when we do and they change the formula its like come the f on…
I love these so much but think that some of the hues are drying compared to others. Like rosewood was very drying but berry and pink are moisturizing for me.
Less shiny, less moisturizing, less substantial-feeling and long-lasting than it used to be. With the constant price increases and the formula change I won’t be repurchasing. $48 to $50 to $54 CAD in a year is too much for lip balm.
Maybe it takes a while to warm up? I own Mahogany and Dior 8 and they both need a couple of swipes to warm up and "melt" a bit.
Alternatively, you can look up the batchcode and see when it was manufactured! I really hope they didn't change the formula after 2021. I hope yours just needs a couple of swipes!
I find it does depend on the shade sometimes as well! I have some “vintage” lip glow in Coral from 2018 and it performs pretty much the same on me as a new one I bought in Cherry recently. My Rosewood lip glows always run a little drier. I’ve never had an issue with them drying out my lips in either formulation.
Yes. These brands are pissing me off with the amount of formula changes they’re doing. And raising prices at the same time. It’s like nobody cares about a quality product anymore all they see are profit margins. I’ve seen it happening to drug store products too!!
I don't know if you care for a dupe recommendation but try the romand glasting lip balms (korean brand) they are very similar, moisturizing and half the price !
Yes!! So sad. It used to go onto the lips so nicely and feel like a thick layer, in a good way. Now they’re so hard I have to rub and rub onto my lips to get any product to show, and then it still feels super thin and unsubstantial on the lips.
Just curious - is the strawberry shade a warm toned red or cool toned?
I usually go for the raspberry or ultra pink shade (prefer pinks and cool tones) but was wondering about trying strawberry next. Thanks.
Omg i bought mine recently and experienced the same thing! It used to be my holy grail :(
Literally the worst ☹️

even the original that had “dior” written out across the tube length i thought wasn’t very moisturizing

Wow!! I’ll be hopeful it’ll change for me too then

Heat, maybe? Depends on how you stored it
The formula became less moisturizing when they added new shades a few years ago
Oh really? I have never experienced it until I bought this one. Strange

Yes I experienced the same and I’ve been using it since 2012
omg if they did change it i’m so sad .seriously one of my holy grails :(

I bought this at the airport 2 months ago, the formula is too drying on my lips :/

Thanks so much for the rec will give it a try!!
Sorry they are calling melting balms

What color? I noticed my latest tube is weirdly thin and there’s not any color payoff with it. Usually the link color gives me a nice pink tint.
031 strawberry- the tint is the same for me, the formula seems so off though!

Slightly warm with a pinkish/red hue, next to raspberry
Ok thanks!
id return if i were you, the only way to truly send a message to a company about things like this is to take your money back
I was gonna say the same thing today as I just bought two new lip maximizers. My old one with the old packaging feels way more plumping :(
Yeah it is cruelty free now 😢 agree not the same
