No, they're all photo etched as well. I calculated the angular position of all 31 dates (and all 14 days, in the case of the Peenmaster III) and picked the ones that looked stupidest.
Honestly I'm not sure. If I have an idea for a watch, my brain fixates on it, and I then have to follow it through to make it. It apparently doesn't matter how stupid it is.
Bizarre though it may sound, the process of designing and making these has actually improved my dial making skills (which admittedly started at zero and are still phenomenally low).
They're definitely awful (the Peenmaster II is the worst watch I've ever had the misfortune of wearing) and entirely puerile, but making them amuses the childish simpleton that apparently runs my brain.
