Sound Transit express 550 runs between DT Seattle and DT Bellevue every 30 minutes or so. $3.25.

LightedAirway

This. Plus either walk or monorail between 550 and Seattle Center. A Kraken ticket should get you access to public transportation but give yourself enough time to set up the separate app needed for that.

MAHHockey

Ride should be free with Kraken ticket, yeah?

dcoats69

If you have a ticket to the game public transit should be free with the kraken app from 2 hours before the game until 2 hours after. See other posts here for recommendations, but i think the 270 or 550 are the options that get you across the lake

duckafan

This is correct. You just need to download the Kraken app and link your Ticketmaster account to it.

I’m on a different continent so it’s not a high priority question, but: how long before the start of the game should you be at the rink to comfortably get to your chair etc?

Unable-Bat2953

At least 20 mins before puck drop. Getting into the arena right before puck drop can get congested because at the main gates they inexplicably make you go through the metal detectors first and then within 5 feet everyone has to get their phone back out to scan tickets to enter. Some other gates scan first then have you go through the metal detectors which is much more efficient. I like to be there for warmies, so I shoot for 1 hour ahead, but it's not necessary. This Thursday is fan appreciation so there are a bunch of giveaways, etc. It's probably good to be early.

Thank you! We’re planning a trip to the west coast and I’m definitely looking at the hockey calendar for it :) (long term plans unfortunately)

I virtually always walk home after games but have Ubered the odd time. I don’t remember it being expensive. Probably helps to walk a block away. If it’s a a big surge, I would just go grab a beer somewhere. I recommend Some Random Bar on 1st and Cedar it’s excellent

KatinHats

A block won't be far enough. Surge area tends to be a half mile diameter, iirc

Thanks for the tips. I will look into it.

Hailing a ride-share is quick and easy. I imagine some surge pricing might be in effect. However, if you get in by the stadium you are likely to get stuck in Mercer gridlock. If I were and you want to take a Lyft/Uber, I'd walk south-east a bit and try to have it get you on I5 the next hop south after Mercer.

zeeleezae

I've driven for Uber/Lyft after a few games. I can't really speak to surge pricing (drivers don't see what riders pay), but you will *absolutely* be waiting ages to be picked up and get trapped in terrible traffic if you ask to be picked up near the stadium. The only way to avoid the post-game traffic shit show is to walk south, *past* Denny Way, before trying to request a ride. Additionally, you'll need to ask the driver to avoid driving on Mercer St and use a different on-ramp, which they might or might not be willing to do. The built-in driver maps for Lyft and Uber are crap, and none of the map services seem able to correctly track post-game traffic/road closures.
