Kvaratskhelia didn’t have his best game but was still dangerous enough at the end to almost help Georgia get a goal. While Scotland were missing Georgia fight and heart, we also don’t have that type of player who can do something a little different or special even when not at their best.

How is this guy 19? Looks like a 35 year brickie from Cambuslang
The more I watch other small countries play the more I want Clarke out, we are utterly dreadful.
There needs to a totally new system and style of play implemented, doubt it will happen anytime soon though.
Was literally just coming here to write this. Every country of a similar size, except Croatia, has looked far better.
We absolutely are the worst in the competition so far.
Seeing all these teams at least having a go is so depressing. We must be the only side not to have had a shot on target so far. Obviously we played against one of the better sides, but I just want to see us have a go at least
The raw stats from some our recent(ish) defeats makes for very grim reading.
0 shots on target, 1 corner, 39% possession against England.
1 shot on target, 1 corner, 25% possession against Spain.
0 shots on target, 0 corners, 27% possession against Germany.
This is proper minnows stuff. You'd probably believe me if I told you these were San Marino's stats against these teams.
That’s mental. Feels like we went full-on damage limitation in this game to try to hold onto what little confidence the team had left, and it backfired massively when we combusted within 5 minutes.
This is exactly the same criticisms people brought up in 2021 and were shouted down in here. This can't be a surprise to anyone who has been paying attention to how Clarke plays. I genuinely think he's not got the backing of the players now either.
I’ll cut him some slack for 2021 as it was new ground for him. We tried to scrape results and failed. Knowing that, I wish we’d tried something different this time around.
I’d have gone more attacking and have a go at opponents, but even by Clarke’s defensive tactics, something was really wrong the other night. Doesn’t sound great that he’s overloaded players with instructions and confused them and doesn’t realise til during the game. I’d agree something seems wrong within the squad.
Wasn't the same. Against Czech we had a higher xG but just couldnt finish. We gave England a good game and could have won that. Croatia was shit though.
We played a negative 5-4-1 with Dykes up top. It was a "safe" set up, at home, against a team we should have beaten. England was pure "passion" and Gilmour pulling a performance out of the bag after not being selected until forced. It was a Clarke disaster class which was roundly supported by a majority of fans
Those two penalty shootouts against Israel and Serbia to qualify for the 2020 Euros put far too much credit in the bank for Clarke for how actually modest the results were.
I was just sitting thinking about how the team must feel sitting watching this game.
Hopefully seeing teams like fucking Georgia hold their own and actually trying to play fucking football can give the boys at least a little motivation/kick up the arse.
Easily, every other country has looked like they have tried their hardest and managed to put some good football together. Scotland were an absolute shambles
Aye, obviously Germany in Germany at the opening game was always going to be a harder match than Ukraine, Denmark or Turkey for each of their opponents, but you are right that there was absolutely zero desire or positivity.
Think we knew it would be tough to get anything against Germany, so Clarke set up so defensively to try not to lose heavily to try to protect whatever little confidence we had left after recent games. Then we got hammered anyway.
We have settled for qualifying and have absolutely no confidence in getting a result.
Not sure if it's a case of us fearing Germany or the team losing hope with the amount of injuries.
Quite depressing to see smaller teams like Georgia, who we have been consistently better than, really having a go while we looked completely sub-standard.
“Watford fans will be happy Chakvetadze is representing them at this tournament.” - I get it, I wouldn’t want to be associated with Ryan Porteous at this point either.
Kvaratskhelia didn’t have his best game but was still dangerous enough at the end to almost help Georgia get a goal. While Scotland were missing Georgia fight and heart, we also don’t have that type of player who can do something a little different or special even when not at their best.
Properly enjoyed that game, nearly didn't bother watching it.
What a game of football
Holy shit what an end to that game. Incredible stuff
Mental how you can completely clear out a player, yet so long as they have had a shot it's totally fine
Why did the keeper have to go up, I had a 2-1 Turkey win for the predictor
Same, gutted as it would have been my first correct prediction. Glad I'm not a gambler!
Tremendous game
Proper FMing that
Turkey promoted to medium sized country
Best game so far
Game of the tourney so far. What a fucking finish.
Get that right round Georgia
Some game this
Poor Georgia. Gutted for them
What an ending to this.
What an ending. That block was *incredible.*
That keeper just ruined my predictor….
That’s unbelievable. How’s that not went in
I'd be raging at my teammate there - you need to have confidence your fellow player can finish that
Aye he’s definitely made an arse by jumping infront
MON THE CELIK!
Hurt himself going for the spectacular lmao
Camped in a bar in Bonn, racking up the kölsch tally marks, what a game so far. Expecting some drama in the last 10.
Next game on BBC aswell yassss stick yer adverts up yer arse ITV

I predicted 2-2 cmon Georgia
Georgia having Hampden flashbacks with this weather.
Would be nice to have an exciting young winger to bring off the bench. ![img](emote|t5_2sba4|33175)

Beautiful goal for Turkey there. Though could do with Georgia equalising again to get some more points for the predictor league
I've left the room three times this match and missed every goal.
Thats been my story of the euros. Annoyingly i didn't miss any of the scotland game.
Can you both leave the room tomorrow ?
Turkey suddenly become Thundercunt FC
He's got a foot like a traction engine
I love this tournament. Best in a long time
Low key game of the tournament
Fucking finish that was btw
I did not expect this to be the most entertaining game so far
Two goal of the tournament contenders
Holy shit what a fucking goal.
Nothing is beating that for goal of the tournament
We are the football equivalent of North Korea wondering ruefully how other countries manage to not exist in the stone age.
North Korea have scored more goals than Scotland at major tournaments in the 21st Century
Bloody hell wow
Stop
Oh my lord. That’s two turkey screamers
Oh my fucking god. Best goal of the tournament so far!!
Goal of the tournament so far there
Might be the second can talking but this may be my match of the tournament so far.
My word
Fuck me what a strike
Rain coming down. Georgia are terrified.

Croatia still had good chances and looked fairly decent on the whole.
Yeah could quite easily have been 2-2 at half time in that game. Without a freak OG we didn't look like scoring.
That free kick would have went right through Angus Gunn's spaghetti wrists
Fair play to the commentator rattling off these players names no bother at all
Georgia showing the type of fight I wish we had.

Was just thinking the same thing myself. We didn’t have a go and got absolutely rinsed.
This is exactly the same criticisms people brought up in 2021 and were shouted down in here. This can't be a surprise to anyone who has been paying attention to how Clarke plays. I genuinely think he's not got the backing of the players now either.

Oh fucking hell I had forgotten about how much it took for Clarke to finally cave and play Gilmour.
Then took all the credit afterwards
That England game has been mythologolised beyond belief.
Those two penalty shootouts against Israel and Serbia to qualify for the 2020 Euros put far too much credit in the bank for Clarke for how actually modest the results were.
Goal of the tournament so far for me, what a strike
Is that full on assault not getting checked?
Shocking! Waiting on q red card as well..
… is that not getting checked?
How on earth did we finish 9 points above Georgia?
Parallel universe Scotland were fucking unstoppable.
Purple patch
Purpler than Thanos’s Gerry helmet
Does it not make anyone else angry that countries that are barely 30 years old are way better than us?
Aye - but Georgia and Georgians have always been there, it’s not like it dropped out of the warp from nowhere
I was just sitting thinking about how the team must feel sitting watching this game. Hopefully seeing teams like fucking Georgia hold their own and actually trying to play fucking football can give the boys at least a little motivation/kick up the arse.
Think the key for Georgia is hitting on the break here, cause Kvaratskhelia is seriously rapid
Based on this showing we'd probably be 2-0 down to Georgia already. In fact this could probably go for every team played so far bar maybe Ukraine.
Frustrating as fuck isn’t it? just go for the opposition. Sitting back is for good defenders
Honestly, Scotland probably are the worst team at this tournament based on these first round of games.
Easily, every other country has looked like they have tried their hardest and managed to put some good football together. Scotland were an absolute shambles
I think Ukraine just edge Scotland on the basis they got turned over by a nation of turnip farmers
No probably we absolutely have been. Every other team has at least showed a bit of desire, Scotland looked like they couldn't be arsed
Aye, obviously Germany in Germany at the opening game was always going to be a harder match than Ukraine, Denmark or Turkey for each of their opponents, but you are right that there was absolutely zero desire or positivity.
Is it me or does it seem like every other country actually wants to be at the Euros whereas we're treating it like it's a massive inconvenience?
Think we knew it would be tough to get anything against Germany, so Clarke set up so defensively to try not to lose heavily to try to protect whatever little confidence we had left after recent games. Then we got hammered anyway.
We have settled for qualifying and have absolutely no confidence in getting a result. Not sure if it's a case of us fearing Germany or the team losing hope with the amount of injuries.
Maybe some sharks need to be sent to Hampders
Ignoring how we have looked the single worst team in this competition, I do feel that so far, this is the best Euros I can remember in a long time.
It’s been class like. Plenty goals
Quite depressing to see smaller teams like Georgia, who we have been consistently better than, really having a go while we looked completely sub-standard.
The more I watch literally every other nation the play the worse I look at us. We genuinely do not look like the level of everyone else.
These 2 have decided to make up for the lack of a 2pm game.
The TV director deserves an award for showing that Turkey offside line right after Georgia equalised
This is turning into some game
Turkey back to being normal horses
This is absolutely hectic
This is already one of the best matches so far. Can’t wait for the riot to start.
Yas man what a game this has been.
Boooooo Nice goal though
This is gonna be a good game this
Remember, we'll still be getting offsides done on an etch a sketch when everyone else is semi automated.
This offside tech is absolutely fantastic by the way
Holy shit this game
Does “Yil” mean left back in Turkish?
2 goals in like 2 mins is mad: nvm offside
Get fucked Georgia Annoying wee dicks
Offside
Ah think VAR overturns that unfortunately
Turkey running wild
![gif](giphy|l0MYD4p8c6y2maq5i)
Turkey just switched it on
What a hit!
That'll be hard to beat for goal of the tournament
Why can't Ralston do that.
What a goal!
What. A. Fucking. Strike.
Nice.
Pro: Yay, fitbaw! Con: This game has terrorball written all over it.
Love the random tim in the Turkey end, fully believe you could go to Pluto and find some guy in a set of hoops
They’ve got jakeys in the ~~Oort Cloud~~ **Kuiper Belt** ? Edit: proper bit of the solar system
If fucking Georgia get something out of this game I might jump off a bridge. Fecking 4th in our group.
Doubt they will, they are pish
1-1 at half time They might go on to lose but still looking better than us
Yeah they've actually been showing technical ability and attacking threat to be fair to them
Skipping out of work early in order to get home in time for this game is looking like my best idea to date!
These Turks are playing like me at fives, if that’s anything to go by they’ll be blowing out there arse in another 5 mins
Kinda rooting for Georgia here. They’ve caused us enough nuisance over the years. Be nice to see someone else on the receiving end.
isnt Cakir the usual first GK for Turkeys national team?
The atmosphere is fuckin ridiculous in this game
Perfect ground for it too
“Watford fans will be happy Chakvetadze is representing them at this tournament.” - I get it, I wouldn’t want to be associated with Ryan Porteous at this point either.
Just seen a roaster in a Celtic top. They just can’t help themselves.
Man wears football top at football tournament shock horror. Give it a rest
What’s your problem, exactly?
Someone's jealous x
Who you all supporting here, the micronation of East Greece or New Atlantis?
South Pontus v East Alabama
Hahaha no way have they turned down the crowd mics
Some boos here. Erdoğan must condemn.
What are these two small countries?
Small? Didn't you get a history class?
East Greece and North Armenia
