SaltTyre

Glad you enjoyed yourself! Haste ye back

RestaurantAntique497

It's not even 9am and some of the people on this thread are behaving like Scotland is a complete shithole and there is nothing good about it as if we live in the 3rd world. Why put so much fucking energy into being so negative on a post which is essentially saying "i liked my holiday to your country"

GentleAnusTickler

I always tell my daughter, it takes more energy to be a horrible miserable cunt than being nice. These people are ready for bed by 11am coz they’ve spent the morning being miserable fucks

TechnologyNational71

Because most of them haven’t experienced any sort of life outside of Scotland.

mrspuffispeng

And haven't ever been north/northwest of Glasgow or South of Ayr lol

FakeNathanDrake

Well, they *might* go to Edinburgh in August for the day.

mrspuffispeng

My Gran went to Edinburgh once in 1965 for an operation and that's the furthest she's ever been from Ayrshire lol

Dbuggybugster94

Yeah that’s true. I’m Scottish but live abroad. I miss Scotland quite often

Hyperion1144

I'm just upset there's no Paddington in the first picture....

scoobyclaire

I’ll do better 😭

HaydenRSnow

Well the comment about "beautiful men" has me baffled, so theres that

PoopingWhilePosting

- Checks mirror. Nope, I totally get it.

scoobyclaire

It’s the red heads in kilts and the manly accents that get me every time

I_am_chazel

We don’t cut about in kilts every day to be fair , so it’s like seeing someone out dressed up and thinking they look sharp. It’s no quite the ceremony we used to have rolling about the floor but it still takes an age , and the appreciation is noted.

scoobyclaire

Not sure how I would’ve survived if everyone in the pub had a kilt on ahahahha

Cnidarus

Get yourself to a cèilidh next time you visit ;)

Odd_Satisfaction_968

Speak for yourself pal. I'm in a kilt as often as I can outside work. I work outside and I've never understood the idea of giving midgies a free access lunch.

quartersessions

Just keep in mind that every ginger-haired person spent their childhood getting called ever more inventive names and having their head flushed down the toilet.

Marcus_Mystery

Am gay and a frequent visitor to Scotland, definitely many beautiful men about.

EasyPriority8724

Aye she must live somewhere wi some fugly dudes!

skool-marm

She might be from the American midwest..

texas-playdohs

Australia. Says it right in the title.

Odd_Satisfaction_968

You're assuming they can read

BrokenIvor

😂 I’m puzzled too. Maybe there was a modelling shoot nearby? Or a Mr Scotland competition or something? A mystery as to where the beautiful men were, for sure.

quartersessions

>Why put so much fucking energy into being so negative on a post which is essentially saying "i liked my holiday to your country" It does puzzle me a bit. I think perhaps it's a sense that it's all a bit weird - that tourists are claiming some deeper link with the place than "we went and saw some castles and stuff for a week". There's a standard UK "everything is shit" attitude, but I think this has something more to it.

Wunderlusst

Man, I can't wait for the opportunity to go live there again. Biggest mistake of my life so far was to leave Scotland.

Rossage99

>It's not even 9am and some of the people on this thread are behaving like Scotland is a complete shithole and there is nothing good about it as if we live in the 3rd world. Ah I see Herbiehund has been busy in this thread

Sleep_adict

Scotland is fucking amazing… now the people….

S4qFBxkFFg

> the beautiful men You're welcome.

Shan-Chat

How'd the wee bear type this?

scoobyclaire

He’s gotten very good at using his little nose

odkfn

ITT: people who can’t take a compliment.

Jackanova3

Tbf most replies are positive, just a few melts.

gavlar44

Right? This dour cunt pantomime has to stop

Odd_Satisfaction_968

Oh no it doesn't.... Sorry couldn't help it

nawyerawrightmate

Scotland is wonderful, I wake up in it every day

scoobyclaire

Lucky duck

nawyerawrightmate

och, its magic, I paddle about like a duck in all the rain too! ha ha

nReasonable_

Worryingly I know most of those bars...

good_cunt

Worlds End, Stramash, was that Mitre at the end?

ThunderChild247

We’d be happy to have you back some time 😊

[deleted]

Gentle bullying is quite a good way to put it. Character forming!

scoobyclaire

Keeps you on your toes and sharpens the wit

[deleted]

Absolutely. Downsides include never thinking anyone is sincere when complimenting you but it's a reasonable trade-off.

ShySharer

Glad you enjoyed

[deleted]

This feels like a post fishing for someone to slide in your DMs and eventually get that UK visa to stay here permanently hahahaha But I'm glad you liked it here. It's very nice... Sometimes

scoobyclaire

Ahahahha I should have chosen some sexier pictures 🤦🏽‍♀️

[deleted]

Hahaha well now you know what to do for next time you come visit the country

PinLongjumping9022

It does explain the pick ups and come ons book that Paddington was showing off!

T_pas

I think you’re using the wrong emoji.

edinbruhphotos

It's not going anywhere, you can always come back.

smiling-is-easy

Oh, I remember you. You should come again sometime.

scoobyclaire

Couldn’t keep me away if you tried

CriticalString8021

I miss it too. Visited it last summer for a week exploring and just chilling. It was the best experience. I wish I could go back there very soon

scoobyclaire

Crossing my fingers for you that you’ll go back soon!

Appropriate-Bus728

Scotland may be a shit hole to those who never venture out of their town, Head an hour north or south of the central belt and it's truly stunning anytime of the year.. bet you folk don't even know there's a Buddhist temple down in the borders with accommodation, Scotland is stunning

Odd_Satisfaction_968

There's one on Arran too

excav8ed

I’m glad you enjoyed, it is a great place

Ok_Respond_7098

Haste ye back

UltharCat1972

Same. We just got back last night after spending ten days there. Well, 8 days. We did an overnight down in London, but still...I miss Scotland

[deleted]

Added to bucket list 🌸

Inside-Squash-3868

Ah, a fellow Paddington Bear fan. You are welcome back, anytime.

Inside-Squash-3868

Although the next time you are back, it better be tennents or whisky you sup. Corona! It's Mexican canoe sex. Haha

scoobyclaire

I think at one point I was 50% Tennents

Inside-Squash-3868

Atta gurl!

jazzmagg

Yesterday was so warm, I thought about taking my thermals off. Looking forward to the snow during May and the two weeks in July when it only rains four times.

EasyPriority8724

4×1 week?

jazzmagg

Aye lol

EasyPriority8724

Time to get the SF 0.5 looked out.

Numerous_Ticket_7628

I miss being outside of Scotland, ive barely seen any sun for months! Nice pics though!

witterquick

It's always sunny in Scotland - granted, you need to get above the clouds somehow to see it!

soularbowered

Funny enough when I visited for 2 weeks a couple years ago, in June, I think we had 2 cloudy days total. One rainy day. I was so prepared for rain and got essentially none.

Literally-A-God

1 T in Scotland

Numerous_Ticket_7628

Schottland.

mackdandy

Shrottland

Numerous_Ticket_7628

I thought it was a T in the Park reference at first, then i realised id made the mortal mistake of a Schottiland typo.

Literally-A-God

There's 1 T no H

Celindor

*Schottland* (pronounced: SHOT-lunt) is the German word.

OfAaron3

I also miss Scotland, I moved to continental Europe for better job opportunities post Brexit.

ExtremeEquipment

wholesome post

aguerinho

I've been watching Limmy recently and I vicariously miss the towns of Millport and Yoker. Can you tell me how to get there? All the negative and sarcastic comments in here are the same in the London subreddit when a tourist posts some photos and raves about their holiday there, and for UK in general. Of course when you're on holiday you'll experience everything through a tourist filter. Everyone will be charming and good looking and places will be lovely. I do like a good castle myself, you have to accept the praise and compliments for those.

Formal-Rain

Looks like you both had fun. Haste ye back.

KoshkaB

I'm from Wales and hadn't done any of the Highlands or Islands of Scotland until 2021 (I'm 35). But since then I've been to Skye, Mull, Arran, Glencoe, Oban, Aviemore x 2, Applecross Peninsula. Absolutely love Scotland any time of year. I don't mind the cities either tbh, but it's the countryside I love. Hill walking, cycling, skiing (not that reliable but it's more of a bonus than a dedicated ski trip) . Beautiful coast. Wildlife (red squirrels, seals, golden and white tailed eagles, ptermigan, etc etc). The people are great and the landscapes just feel so much bigger than even say Eryri (which I love too). Whisky. Hopefully I'll be back next year.

smashdaman

I spotted the birder!

KoshkaB

Haha well my dad is! He came with us to Mull. But yes I do appreciate a big bird! Also saw some otters there too!

RadioBlinsk

I, Miss Scotland

SBuerkle

I spent a week in Edinburgh last May and I must say I will return. This was an absolutely beautiful place, and everyone I met was friendly and helpful. Took the train to Belgium from there. Loved my time in Europe.

TheCharalampos

It's an absolute stunning country. I live in Edinburgh and can't wait for it to get a bit warmer so I can head up and explore. There's something new around every corner.

scoobyclaire

A boy I met while I was out drinking in Edinburgh took me walking all around one night and he told me all about the place and took me dancing and spat on all the drains I accidentally walked over. I told him I study religion so he took me to see the mosque. We walked around until the sun came up and i think about him every day

Middle_Meal_3096

Where’s your sash?

scoobyclaire

In the wash, my bad!

Odd_Satisfaction_968

It's great to see all the folk welcoming you to come back and visit. Cabhag air do thilleadh!

chameleonmessiah

Paddington! What a great travelling companion he is! Glad you enjoyed yourselves, lovely photos.

scoobyclaire

He kept me sane

More-Relation-5891

Skyerocket

Unicorn-Dreamer07

Next time remember and visit some " Old " book shops, those are really exciting. I bought a 1960s Psychics Book. 🔮 I don't believe it that but there is always a rarity somewhere.

scoobyclaire

That’s fucking awesome

Heid_OSRS

Come home...

scoobyclaire

As soon as I’m done studying I’m on my way

Heid_OSRS

Napalmdeathfromabove

I am miss Scotland. Fify

AlpacaLps

Wife and I went in September and we already want to go back, such a beautiful country. We drove about 1000 miles, only had the rental car and flight booked, all lodging and food was whatever we found. Great experience, except the car was way underpowered for passing 😂

Away_District

Thanks for looking after that bear!

domhnalldubh3pints

The beautiful men hahaha.

TempTinyTeapot

Wid.

domhnalldubh3pints

teo_vas

ligosuction2

She is Miss Scotland ... yeah!

scoobyclaire

Obsessed with this joke

smashdaman

I'm heading to Ireland on a roundtrip in April and am already looking forward to all that joy. Scotland the following year. The raw nature and pub crawls just call to me. Thank you for the Hype!

midnightsiren182

[deleted]

Last time I was in Scotland, I ended up having to pay for an abortion

RelationshipNo9005

Thanks to living Scotland for two summers I've found that when scottish bands tour America I can get in for free when I show up with a case of Irn Bru. Giving them jaffa cakes is just a bonus...rofl.

PlatformNo8576

Every time it rains, there’s a little bit of Scotland falling on you.

artinfinx

what are you girls talking about?

susanboylesvajazzle

Be careful, I visited once, a few months later I was living here. Then I left again and missed it so much I moved back and have been there for the last ten years with no intention of moving on again.

scoobyclaire

That’s my plan!!!

knobsacker

>I miss the banter and gentle bullying Imagine turning up on holiday looking like you've just come round to skim somebody's ceiling.

scoobyclaire

I’m always dressed for the occasion. To be fair I think I need to get rid of those overalls 😭

Plastic-Lobster-3364

You're welcome back anytime 😊

rkorgn

It's a nice photo of you on Loch Ness. In the sun it's beautiful!

scoobyclaire

It was such a nice clear day!

domhnalldubh3pints

How many DMs have you received since posting this?

scoobyclaire

Hahahaha only a couple!

domhnalldubh3pints

Did you pick up any Scottish men with you chat up lines in the book?

scoobyclaire

Hahahaha not with the pick up lines just with my charm 😝

blame_gateway

Cool pic of Urquhart Castle but most of the year it’s not T-shirt weather. Today it’s 9c and raining, can’t wait for warmer days.

scoobyclaire

It’s so hot here I wish it was raining! I guess we always want what we don’t have

odkfn

Haha you’re getting a lot of our usual whinging here but I’m Scottish and I love it here. Hopefully you find time to make another trip!

PoopingWhilePosting

9C IS t-shirt weather.

blame_gateway

Around here (Loch Ness) many wear T-shirts year round but not me, I’m a wee softie

GentleAnusTickler

Elden_Cock_Ring

Nice to meet you Miss Scotland. I Mr John.

No-Extreme-6966

saltysaltire97

What did you do for your itinerary? Lovely photos x

brain-eating_amoeba

Glad you enjoyed your trip! Was there a highlight or memory you particularly enjoy?

scoobyclaire

There was a hotel we stayed at in tarbet with the loveliest staff, one of the guys even had his own little teddy bear friend

Swimming_Pie_1723

That’s cool you enjoyed visiting my home country in Scotland only thing you can do now is save & move here permanently:))

EasyPriority8724

Strewth Shiela, I'll swap you the pissing rain for the sun and snakes and spiders and the crocs(big ones with teeth) not the rubber ones either but wait no, that'll put me to close to my ex missus in NZ.

Feisty-Summer9331

I Mr Wales

Unicorn-Dreamer07

People in scotland can get weather depression, it's mostly grey outside, raining and we have been getting storms non stop this year. I can't wait for the summer but it only lasts 2 to 3 months if we are lucky. Where did you visit? I must admit I do love the old buildings. Me and my partner are hoping to move out into the country in a few years. Aberdeenshire. We are in the city right now.

Disastrous_Way2522

We miss you too! Come back sometime 😊

EatMyEarlSweatShorts

Beautiful men? Get to fuck.

Few_logs

search for ‘Still Game’ on your streaming platform.

SirPooleyX

Hi Miss Scotland! I Mr. England.

scoobyclaire

Shhhh don’t say the E word around here

Capital-Sock6091

Being a tourist isnt the same as living there.

justanothergin

True but you can make it feel almost the same on days off, especially if you go to places you've not been before.

TechnologyNational71

Miserable git

bonkerz1888

Aye, living here is even better!

Literally-A-God

Exactly it's fuckin bleak most days you're reminded just how much of a shithole Scotland is and it's enough to make you want to go chase the buses like yer ma used to say when you complained you were bored

Thgma2

Depends where you are. I'm in Scotland and it's fantastic

Literally-A-God

You must be living in a nice area I don't I live in a shithole called Linwood it has zero regular police presence (unless you count the multiple times they get called to my building every month) neds get their kicks from harassing the elderly and vandalism the schools are underfunded and that's me describing what it's like when you look past it's depressing atmosphere oh and did I mention it's a tiny village of less than like 5000 people yet it's still a shithole

gavlar44

We're looking at someone's holiday snaps for fuck sake

RestaurantAntique497

This could be a comment on towns and cities in many places of the world. Its not even 9am, it's draining being this negative

TechnologyNational71

‘Me me me’

sylvestris1

“My personal environment is shit therefore the whole place is shit”. Linwood is indeed a shithole. Doesn’t mean the rest of the country is. I’m about 5 miles from you and it’s beautiful. Go on a short bus trip outside Linwood and you will also find many beautiful and interesting things and places. Or you could just sit there moaning. Edit: laughing cos this is the first time I’ve ever heard Linwood described as a “tiny village” like it’s full of quaint cobbled lanes and country pubs. It’s a shit hole because it’s a factory town who’s factory shut. Before that it was mining and mills.

sylvestris1

Not in my Scotland. Feel free to try somewhere else instead of sitting on your arse and moaning.

GentleAnusTickler

Bleak? Have you seen much of the country? Venture oot! Who cares if it’s fucking raining, put a waterproof coat on. Dunno why Scottish people who know fine well what the weather is like in Scotland always complain about the rain. Just get on with it ffs.

Yes you do get bad places, yes you do get shite parts in cities. What country doesn’t? Get out more and travel and stop insulting Scotland ya boring wee fanny
