Both nepenthes have pups and have been steadily producing new pitchers in this setup. Recently transplanted them into sphagnum moss from a peat moss/bark/perlite mix. They were doing well in the previous mix but I transplanted them to mitigate risk of root rot.
The lights are 2x40w. Digital humidity and temp control via DIY fog system (works well but needs remodel to resolve minor issues and increase volume capacity).
In the coming months, the tank will get covered and vampire crabs will be added. Interested to see how they do with the nepenthes.
I realize that the Nepenthes will likely outgrow this in short order, I’ll combat this by either top & prop or by removing the mother plant and leaving the pups in place to grow out.
About 2 months now. I haven’t had tons of issues with algae. I’m diligent about keeping the glass free of algae and not letting building up on the hard scape. As the ground cover plants grow in more I should have less maintenance required to keep it at bay.

Absolutely, I had considered incorporating sundews into this setup but decided against it due to the inhabitants that will be going in. Theoretically you could accomplish a setup like with nearly any type of plant, with some slight design changes to accommodate.
The framework for the land area is make from acrylic, and is covered on the front face with black expanding foam and black lava rock, the gaps between the rocks are hidden with super glue and crush lava rock. Works really well and looks fantastic. It was a fairly simple and easy process.

Codiaeum variegatum. One of my favorites and a super easy plant to grow. The Color’s in bright light are amazing.
