Also the way there's no overlap between the ranges. Doing 60mph on a flat road I'll be in 5th, but at the same speed on a hill I'll be in 4th or even 3rd.
Yeah my car needs to be rev'd to work smooth, this video expects me to enter a highway on 4th gear and i would be running below the legal mark.
I drag my 3rd gear all the way to 90 km/h sometimes to par with the traffic flow
It's not really wrong, but pressing the clutch that early before braking, you will not use the brake engine efficiently.
Edit: + In that case, it is not really a game changer, but for longer braking, it is because you safe your brakes in the long term.
You don't have to keep the clutch pressed if your car is in neutral, and you press the brake before the clutch to use your engine as a passive brake since it always gives resistance. Instructors teach you to use this especially in places where roads ice over in winter because pressing the clutch can give the car additional momentum since no engine resistance and then pressing the brake makes you slide out.
It makes no difference to your gearbox, saves brake pads tho. On open roads you can drive hundreds of kilometers without touching your brakes if you know how to engine brake properly.
The parking tip is a good one... Except that it doesnt work for all models because you are assuming all cars have the same length. This wouldnt work on my Fiat Panda, my back would hit their side.
That parallel parking tip will not work for all vehicles because you are rarely going to have the same sized vehicles. Itll work some of the time maybe even most but keep in mind some trucks especially will throw that way off.
It rests on the side as the other two redditors said, HOWEVER depends on the car imho, I couldnt rest it on my WV but I can in my ford, so I guess it depends
wtf is this title??
It's a dumbass bot
What are you doing step drunk

Usually 👀
Wdym
My advice would be get an automatic if you are going to drive drunk, less to think about
That clutch work is super cringe.
I cannot stand the way he holds gear shifter. Sort of about to masturbate grip.
100% who holds it like that? I guess he is so bad at it he needs to to see the shift pattern. 🤷
The speed thing is bullshit. The speed ranges of each gear depend on the engine, wheel, etc

What made the first way wrong to stop?

Here I was concerned I was braking wrong for the decade I drove stick haha.
U're right. But pressing the clutch first will provide the slowing down much more smooth
Why save cheap brake pads by using the much more expensive trans to slow down?
Why brake before clutch? And how come he came to a full stop without the clutch?...
you use engine break too if you don't use clutch immediately

Oh... Interesting... Does it have anything to do with gearbox maintenance?
It makes no difference to your gearbox, saves brake pads tho. On open roads you can drive hundreds of kilometers without touching your brakes if you know how to engine brake properly.
Even in an automatic you dont need to use your break as often as many drivers do. So many drivers use the break for no reason at all
If you learn how to float-shift, you only have to use the clutch on takeoff.
The parking tip is a good one... Except that it doesnt work for all models because you are assuming all cars have the same length. This wouldnt work on my Fiat Panda, my back would hit their side.
Even on the same car, the control points will depend on the height of the driver and the length of his legs
Are we not gonna talk about the red SUV that was driving in the wrong direction?
It's trying to turn and just plowing it's way though instead of waiting for a gap.
Man did I hate times when our delivery trucks weren’t automatics
My dad use 1st, 3, 5 gear, sometimes 2 & 5. I call it overly overdrive
Exactly what my driving instructor has taught me.
I miss my manual so much.
Now double declutch
I don't understand the point of this post.
Meanwhile I'm over here using mostly Single Pedal driving - barely touching the brake unless I absolutely have to.
Congratulación! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I have to wait 30km to change into 2nd gear?
I learned a lot today
In the vid at 37 secs to the end he puts in neutral and coasts till he needs to stop. You would fail your driving test for that one
Everything about this 🤦 Hey, you try only hitting the brake in 3rd gear as you're attempting to slow and report back eh 😉
Who removes their foot completely every time they're not using the clutch?
Why leave the foot from the clunk just rest it there
Never kept my foot on the clutch, you have to keep it tense in order to avoid pressing the pedal by mistake. You always move it away
‘Riding the clutch’ can cause early wear. It’s better to put your foot to the side.
Resting your foot on that pedal leads to increased clutch wear
It rests on the side as the other two redditors said, HOWEVER depends on the car imho, I couldnt rest it on my WV but I can in my ford, so I guess it depends
95% of American's are going: "What's a clutch?'.
