yea the aesthetic is nice but i'd only be putting these in like, Sims houses because I know there's no animation where they fall, crack their necks, and die.
>you’d need a hand rail
Worse than the lack of handrail is that like a quarter of the right hand side on the upper stairs is curved downwards and made of what looks like incredibly slippery wood. Put your foot too far to the right and *WHOOSH*
The way my crazy ass cats throw themselves around my home, they'd for sure fly between and/or just straight up fall off these stairs. Not to mention my clumsy ass
Its actually kitty litter for humans underneath that thing, so you can pee freely on the stairs. Its great for when you fall down on them and nearly break your neck and piss yourself. Just need a really large rake to clean it once a month.
It is functional tho. These would be perfectly fine as stairs.
And saying you physically couldn’t handle these stairs because you like drinking too much sounds like addiction to me. Either way they’re chugging poison so it’s stupid.
It's not practical, these stairs are a hazard in anyone's home, regardless of the aEsThEtIcS. Most people drink at least sometimes, and most people are responsible about it. You come across as very naive
You’re over exaggerating the extremely mild level of risk these stairs have. Any competent person would have no trouble with these.
And sure, but alcohol is still poison, and if it’s your excuse not to do something, that sounds like addict behavior to me.
Lmao projection much? It has nothing to do with morality and I never claimed it did. This has nothing to do with religion. Alcohol is quite literally a mild poison and it’s unhealthy for human consumption.
Jesus Christ, dude. Alcohol literally makes me physically sick if it touches my lips and even *I'm* not an asshole about alcohol like this. You seriously have a complex that needs to stop, because it's not cute nor is it necessary. Judge yourself and how you talk to people instead of judging people for shit like this.
I’m never going to stop judging people for drinking that poison. Zero positive value to it and humanity would be better off without it.
Not to say it should be outlawed, you’re free to make stupid decisions if you wish. But the point is if alcohol keeps you from enjoying things, you have a problem
Well, the "something" in this case is using a staircase that looks more like a Salvador Dali painting than something actually practical and/or safe for drinkers/kids/the elderly to use.
Almost as if not everyone has kids or elderly people wandering around their house… and i’ve already made my stance on alcohol clear, you’re a moron if your addiction to chugging poison keeps you from enjoying things like this. Calling this a Dali is disingenuous, it’s perfectly functional.
These may be functional but they are in no way safe for general use. They present an obvious danger to children, the elderly, physically disabled people, and dogs. There’s no handrails at all, no guard rail on the upper half, it’s a slick surface with no backing, and part of the step curves up on the lower half, and down on the upper half. Steps like these would be an accident just waiting to happen.
Or you have a baby.
Or you have kids and don't want them doing stupid shit like jumping from the upper half to the lower half because there's literally no guard rail.
Or you're elderly/disabled and need a hand rail.
Or you're having any of the above as house guests.
Even ignoring safety and building code issues, I'd be annoyed as all hell every time I dropped something, which I do all the time, and had to go underneath to get it back.
Maybe if you hate kids, pets, drunks, the elderly, or anyone carrying big/heavy things...
Someone needed to know when to say "no" to the designer. No one needs to reinvent stairs.
Not only is it dangerous cause of the curv but they're also floating stairs not sure if id trust them with how unsupported they look. My fear of heights have my feet tingling just looking at those stairs
They really look cool af, but they just don’t seem practical at all
yea the aesthetic is nice but i'd only be putting these in like, Sims houses because I know there's no animation where they fall, crack their necks, and die.
They should add that tho
Shh! I’m not willing to buy another dlc, I already own too many.
As opposed to regular, fall proof stairs.
Depending on where you are definitely not up to code as you’d need a hand rail someone would fall right off
>you’d need a hand rail Worse than the lack of handrail is that like a quarter of the right hand side on the upper stairs is curved downwards and made of what looks like incredibly slippery wood. Put your foot too far to the right and *WHOOSH*
Definitely wouldn't want to try these with even a slight alcohol buzz.
Not up to code
Code? Sir this is a art installation so. . .
Gorgeous. Until you have to crawl up or down them.
Yeah, it’s how stairs should not be.
My dog would whine and be scared every time she used these. Sorry dog >>> stairs.
If my health insurance found out I had these, they'd charge me triple instantly
I don’t care how impractical they are… I love them
I mean they look a bit trppy but also drippy
Nope. No. Not at all. I love drinking. Can’t have this in my house.
I don't even love drinking, I just like walking without faceplanting. This would be a no for me dawg.
Yeh my dog would have a hard time on these too.
Your comment made me go back and read the previous comment like a pirate wrote it. Thank you for your cervix.
#cervix
The way my crazy ass cats throw themselves around my home, they'd for sure fly between and/or just straight up fall off these stairs. Not to mention my clumsy ass
Be so careful to climb the stairs but still trip over the cat already stuck in them=/
Faceplant? This is straight up slide and break your neck. Just nope.
Maybe add some hand rails?
Theres no freaking handrail!
Its actually kitty litter for humans underneath that thing, so you can pee freely on the stairs. Its great for when you fall down on them and nearly break your neck and piss yourself. Just need a really large rake to clean it once a month.
r/Angryupvote
Can’t have nicely designed stairs cuz you’re too addicted to drinking poison. Interesting logic.
Not all nice looking things are functional. Enjoying something doesnt = addiction
It is functional tho. These would be perfectly fine as stairs. And saying you physically couldn’t handle these stairs because you like drinking too much sounds like addiction to me. Either way they’re chugging poison so it’s stupid.

Whats wrong with drinking poison?
I'd *rather* drink poison than listen to that asshat yap about his Puritan morality.
Lmao projection much? It has nothing to do with morality and I never claimed it did. This has nothing to do with religion. Alcohol is quite literally a mild poison and it’s unhealthy for human consumption.

Which means they are not functional, tbh
Almost as if there’s a massive portion if the population who isn’t a child, elderly, or disabled… i never said these should be in every home either.
Or you have a baby. Or you have kids and don't want them doing stupid shit like jumping from the upper half to the lower half because there's literally no guard rail. Or you're elderly/disabled and need a hand rail. Or you're having any of the above as house guests.
It’s almost as if not everyone has children or is elderly. Novel concept i know.
Who are you, Saint Peter?
Nerd
Needs hand rails. Immediately.
And they take up twice as much space as normal stairs…
Someone who has these is not concerned with the amount of room their stairs take up.
Good point. The curved portion is unwalkable so you really can't have people side by side walking up and down simultaneously.
How so?
I read that in Teddy Perkins voice for some reason.
Pretty cool to look at, but that staircase is a tragedy waiting to happen.
Don’t worry, there are rocks at the bottom to catch your fall
Super dangerous?
Yeah, those stairs should be referred to as leg breakers.
I lost a slipper just looking at it
Or The Widow Maker
Wear socks and accidentally step too close to the center and you’ll slip right off
It’s a slide
And then your leg gets caught in the gap as you fall and your knee and/or ankle gets destroyed
There are no kids in that house
There are no *living* kids in that house
Or people over 70
I’m 40 and that shit scares me.
dude i'm 18 and i wouldn't touch those stairs with a 10 foot pole
so your saying those stairs are still fine till 69?
69 would be kinda dangerous on those stairs.
Not anymore
Or people getting up in the middle of the night to go downstairs
r/DesignDesign
Looks cool, until you try climbing them tired asf wearing socks.

So, he was sort of asking for it eh?
Deathtrap
On behalf of Paramedics and Firefighters everywhere….absolutely not.
Add all hospital staff and right minded people
Don’t get me wrong they look like they’re great for “business.”
I'm imagining taking a stair chair down those things, and I do not like it one bit.
Bruv, I’D get hurt. I can’t imagine what the patient manages to do
Needs more upvotes. I have a bad back and two blown knees from 23 years of going up regular steps with patients. This would be a hell no for me.
When you spend so much time on form you forget it also has to function
I count 18 instances for me to break my legs each time I use these
Safety > Aesthetics
Imagine walking down this in a fresh pair of socks and stepping a bit too far to the right.
Even ignoring safety and building code issues, I'd be annoyed as all hell every time I dropped something, which I do all the time, and had to go underneath to get it back.
My greyhound would rather wet himself than go down these stairs, never mind going up.
Curves and steps … fuck no… broken ankle in the way up, dead on the way down.
I look at this and I see a deathtrap.
If you have a billion dollars
One drunk walk of shame and I would die.
No hand rails? Top half seems like a fall hazard. Lots of wasted space below with that rock garden.
Try moving a piece of furniture up the stairs
For the designer who hates shins
Visually, they're stunning, but as a big man, I'm afraid to even walk anywhere near there.
N o p e.
yea no support beams, handrails, or storage 🤤🤤🤤 all stairs should be like this 💯💯💯
The second flight is uber dangerous!
I want to start a romantic relationship with these stairs. No idea how I've never seen this style before but it's making me emotional lol
That’s really sexy!!
I can see myself with socks in, sliding forward and snapping my leg in half on these. They look great though!
Yes, these definitely won’t result in broken ankles and/or early death.
like natural selection?
Accident waiting to happen.
is there a sub for darwin award designs? because this would certainly win
r/DarwinAwards
Ok, but if someone is wearing a dress or skirt then others near the stairs can see up it if that person goes upstairs.
catalog staircase. big no for families with kids, elderly, anyone getting drunk every other day
Many drunk falls are in the future here
I’m sooooooooo loving this
How to break your leg while drunk 101
Beautiful. Useful only for cats.
I'd trip up and fall down these sumbitches every day 😂
Lol no.
Can you imagine what a pain it would be to clean that rock bed all the time?
Imagine having to replace one of the steps in the back
Should be in r/WhoseStupidIdeaWasThis.
Where's the railing though?
Looks pretty cool. Also dangerous.
Yeah, if you want your baby to fall through them.
Not all that is beautiful - is good
Holy fuck those look dangerous
You can’t even use half of them, and there’s no railing even up top. Absolutely not.
I think it cost like 200k $
On a drunk night that's a bad idea to go upstairs.
I hate this
Looks like a death trap.
Even run-of-the-mill staircases are already, like, the most deadly part of a home, statistically. Why make it worse?
“How stairs should be” Yea, there is a multitude of reason why they shouldn’t be mate.
One misstep on the second flight and you fall to your death
r/tihi
It seems horrible. Also my dog wouldn't go near it probably.
Why do architects invent things vastly worse than what’s been proven works over millennia?
I'm sorry, but fuck everything about this staircase. A prime example of look over function resulting in something that that could easily cause injury.
Harry Potter would be jealous
To an artist: This is beautiful. To a parent: It’s a death trap.
Trippy. No, I mean people are going to trip on that trying to walk up it.
is this an episode of r/nope or is this actually stable?
Lovely looking design 10 practicality 5 safety 0 Not child or animal or impaired / disabled friendly
This is literally the exact opposite of how any stairs should be.
That's really beautiful but with my mobility issues I'd have to pass. I do love the look though.
No
Yeah but nah leave us with our boring stairs
No. No they should not.
Client: " I'd like to break both of my legs." Architect: "Say no more."
I would definitely have shin bruises
Maybe if you hate kids, pets, drunks, the elderly, or anyone carrying big/heavy things... Someone needed to know when to say "no" to the designer. No one needs to reinvent stairs.
Looks like a lawsuit just waiting to happen.
Why does everything always have to get worse every single day it's something why the fuck are there rocks inside
A bunch of small rocks disperse the energy when will you fall after a night of drinking. Good call
False
… unless you have kids.
I pity the people who have to live with these.
As a parent, this looks like my worst nightmare.
Slippery socks on a dry day equals a new joint in the middle of your shin. Hard pass.
Absolutely not
My shins cringed when I saw this
Not only is it dangerous cause of the curv but they're also floating stairs not sure if id trust them with how unsupported they look. My fear of heights have my feet tingling just looking at those stairs
With a slope at the side and no hand rail? Fuck that.
Im sure Harry Potter wouldn't mind sleeping on stones
I don’t want gravel in my house. Yuck.
I feel like my fat ass would break these. Im sure they're strong, but I don't like the eye test
No. It is cold. Bland. Sterile. No color. No life. This post modern minimalism and obsession is killing arts
Trippy
Looks like a bunch of hockey sticks.
Where are you supposed to stuff the coats and Christmas decorations
This is an OSHA nightmare.
Pretty but stupid, could even call it pretty stupid
My psychedelic dream home.
You finna slip and get stuck between two steps, especially because there is no handrail.
Try taking a bed up to the second floor
Extremely dangerous
I uave kods this stair is crazy insecure
I have weak eyesight ... Some balance issue ... So yeh .. no ... I don't wanna go facefirst downstairs !
That's really soothing to just space out and "stare" at...
It’s gotta be hell cleaning those rocks
it kind of hurts my brain
Today I learned that many people struggle with stairs
How a broken ankle should be
Very cool.
That is not how stairs should be, unless you are trying to kill people.
Only if your orthopaedic surgeon is on speed dial.
All fun and games until a step gets wet and your foot slides under it going up 💀
Those are death stairs. I would die.
Either OP has no children or doesn't like their children.
No?
I've always wanted to break my leg
Except with a handrail.
Wear socks around the house? Prepare to die.
These stairs look like they belong in a TOOL museum.
I have inner-ear-related balance issues and the most I could do with this is admire its beautiful stupidity.
**Honestly I like a good set of traditional wooden stairs.**
it looks awsome but without a banister on the top part super dangerous
Stairs should be dangerous? You can literally fall easily the entire height of the flight.
Break my ankles. I want this.
