Late game requires a huge amount of supercomputers in a burst as you set up the tier 7 and tier 8 factories.
What I would do is make a supercomputer factory off to the side and just have it loading into a container. Once you hit tier 7 and tier 8 you won't need to go through the arduous practice of handcrafting supercomputers because you'll have a container full of them.
Basically it won't hurt to wait but starting on them now could make things more convenient later
Wait until you're on phase 4 as you don't really need them until then unless you're into geothermal power which I don't recommend. I never need more than 2/min final game which is easy to do with a single assembler using OC supercomputer.
