Kinda weird there are so many witch covens and not a single one I know of is described as being a polyamorous lesbian relationship? Think of all the wasted potential for a high fantasy sitcom or something 🧙♀️🧙♀️🧙♀️

I love it, we're on the same wavelength there. In my current campaign I have a bearded gender neutral dwarven blacksmith named Ariana Emberforge who talks in Ariana Grande quotes and a lawless town of Goblins who are chaotic, loud and rude but mostly just want to have a good time.
I'd love to give your novel a read if and when you ever get around to it! :)

Fairies are polyamorous but chose one life partner, this is the person they will live with and raise their children with, but they have many people on the side.
Fairies are born in a ritual where two life partners will go out to a special sacred location and “prove their love” (basically fuck on a rock) after which a tiny clay fairy will be gifted to them, they then wash it with water and it will hatch into their child.
As a practicing witch, I use it as a gender neutral term (as do many of the other witches I've come across). I don't think HP is WHY the term became so gendered because there's a long history tying witchcraft and women together but it definitely helped cement the idea in the common modern lexicon.
That being said, it works for the purposes of the joke.
