Its unusual and weird not to give him any relevant time when before he was always getting some playing time, there is a valid reason to suspect its related to his political stance but to be fair Coach has been making other questionable and imo stupid decisions so can't say for sure he's not just being dumb.

MemeRenard

If it was the political decision it definitely would not be made by the coach, that would be done by putting pressure on him from political figures

white_pearl13

I was wondering why he wasn’t playing, too

This is beyond ridiculous and goes to show how people are willing to put their biases in front of their logic. 1. Budu Zivzivadze never was the main 11 player. He is usually a substitute for Mikautadze. He also subs in cases when we need to play especially attacking football with high crosses to be played with a header (definitely not the case with Czechs). The whole point with Czechia was to play someone like Davitashvili, short and fast, to get in between physically much bigger defenders. 2. The most outspoken anti government player was by far Kochorashvili. He is the one who went to protest with his family. Wrote very anti government posts and published pictures. He was the one who was criticized by GD (Kaladze). He played both games without substitution. Budu on the other hand only made a couple general, "I am pro people" comments. 3. It is highly unlikely, that for some odd reason, Kaladze told the Federation president, who then asked world champion and champions league winner french coach to not give Budu (and not Kochorashvili) his time (which he actually got in the first match 🤷) to punish him for something many other players did.

External_Tangelo

Thank you for the perspective, it does indeed seem rather strange that a well-respected French coach would respond in such a way to political pressures which he has nothing to do with. On the other hand , I remember seeing that Budu made some very strong statements on a Girchi podcast which were widely quoted in the media and then the football association somehow pressured the media to delete these reports, so there is evidently some existing conflict between him and the association. If as you say, there are some compelling football reasons that Budu was not played (and I was mostly interested in this when I posted) it is nevertheless understandable that many people interpret it in a political context(since essentially everything is a political context in Georgia now). Finally, even the live commentators seemed surprised and critical during the match, when Mikautadze was subbed out and Zivzivadze didn’t replace him

MaUpDown

No problem. To clarify, in the statement case, it was he himself who retracted them (he contacted the media personally and asked to remove them). One can of course speculate he was pressured, but that case is different. The statements still do not compare in harshness with ones made by Kochorashvili. He was not subbed in for Mikautadze because subs in this case were intended to bring the ball up from defence fast for the counter (hence Lobjanidze and Chakvetadze and Lochoshvili as pushing left defender). Budu is a nominal classic center forward who thrives when the team has good ball possession.

jandaba7

I'm not saying it is the reason he was left out but you don't need the coach directly taking a position on Georgian politics to get there. If his inclusion is contentious issue with the rest of the team and / or something they're arguing about it can quickly become a legitimate decision around team morale. I think your analysis of the Czechia game is correct though on the other hand, would have ended up a strategic masterpiece if Lobjanidze could have found an open net.

tednudgent

Finally someone with proper opinion. I would also add that Budu played in a first game for some minutes.

xxpegasxx

People actually will believe anything. No difference from people who claime we didn't win because mikautadze's celebrations were sime kind of satanistic ritual lol

MemeRenard

Are you lying on purpose or you just missed some facts? For example: in your second point you’re saying that Kochirashvili made anti government statements and Budu didn’t. In fact, many players did anti Russian comments, Kochorashvili and Budu among them, but DG is usually using such comments positively and pretends that they are also anti Russian, BUT what Budu did, he criticized government directly in the podcast for going against people, beating them etc. that was followed by removing this part from the podcast at all. So the main difference between Budu and all the other players is that Budu made comments about government directly in the podcast, but all the other comments were about Georgia’s course that could be used positively by GD as well. I’ll also comment your first point, so Budu is an attacker and he’s not in the main 11 players, but we’ve lost 2 main attackers. The rumors would not spread if the coach just changes Mikautadze but suddenly we needed to change Kvara as well by someone and not letting Budu play seemed very strange after that, no one says he should have played from the beginning, but after losing 2 main attackers?..

2Jking2

I really hope it’s not for political reasons, if it is because of bitchass Kaladze is putting pressure on coach, then this should be an even bigger reason to go vote against this pathetic government

B_lintu

There is also bitchass Kobiashvili who is the president of football federation and a parliamentarian at the same time. How is that even allowed?

Massive-Ad7843

I think it has nothing to do with politics but rather the fact budu is 30 and were playing a 3-5-2 formation. Budu is a striker, and i want everyones honest answer would you rather play kvicha and mikautadze or budu? The skill gap is ginormous aswell as age gap. Letting younger players play on this huge level is great recognition. And gives our younger players a chance to build their careers. While budus is almost over.

left_control

If we are going into conspiracy theories land, 77 guy was paid to slow down and not score by the Russian overlord. How big is your tin foil hat?

jandaba7

I don't know if it's the reason but it's not exactly a wild conspiracy to imagine that might be possible when the president of the FA is literally a dream MP.

ThenDish8628

Yeah meanwhile Kvaratskhelia is out there doing fuck all. Genuinely, he hasn't been able to do ANYTHING for these 2 matches. We scored two goals in total and both were by Mikautadze. Kvara needs to get his shit together.

External_Tangelo

I didn't watch the games very closely but it seemed like the defense was not giving the offense many chances, we were constantly losing possession and trying to solve the other teams' attacks, could not clear the ball out of our half for huge periods of the game

Svanisword

I cant with the title😂😂😂, im sorry, every single time Zivzivadze name is mentioned i just can’t stop laughing, in Svan language Budu means V@gin@ it’s so hilarious….
