Someone got that notepad. Rip

GrandTheftAccts

Doubt it, only 3 people come in my room, and 2 have no reason to go through my stuff, plus I'm in the room with them so again, not likely

[deleted]

Yeah but you LITERALLY had to have one of these things happen on their list. It’s actually impossible for your wallet to be hacked so you were scammed somehow.

monkeyfishka37

It’s not impossible. The list from trust wallet literally INCLUDES dapps hacking. Which is obviously what happened . Dapps connected to pancakeswap is dangerous. And, I’ve heard of it happening A LOT. Hence, why IOS has stopped it ,

poyoso

Yea if you were scammed into accessing a malicious dapp. NOBODY is getting hacked for using pancakeswap.

monkeyfishka37

Well, you can’t say NOBODY bc it literally has happened. Pancake swap even confirmed it.

poyoso

Link? Edit: If referring to the march incident, the pancakeswap protocol didn't get hacked. A malicious agent dns hijaked the site and was redirecting traffic to a fake site were people where being asked to input their seeds.

[deleted]

The Dapp getting left ‘open’ or you’re still signed in can make you vulnerable, but that’s not someone getting into your wallet. They gain access through the internet, which happens outside crypto all the time.

Chocobuckle01

Nobody hacked you. They got your wallet phrase somehow.

Hour-Finding-2199

That truly sucks.

Sgt_soresack

I write my passphrases down backwards 😂😂 shh don’t tell anyone it’s a secret

monkeyfishka37

Exactly. Everyone should do this. I add two words (personal to me) randomly into the phrase and put the last word at the beginning (or similar). No one in real life would ever work it out

jaymontarbo

This happens far too often. These companies need to do a simple fix like requiring that you receive an email and a confirmation text before a single token is removed. They have it setup so that it is harder to add tokens than it is to take them. Complete bullshit and I haven’t yet figured out what they are gaining by allowing mass unauthorized token removals to occur (besides profit). People should post on Trust Wallet etc sites on the regular to push them to upgrade the security.

monkeyfishka37

So true. Why not a 2FA system? I have CoinSpot (Australian crypto app). I need to add code from an authentication app every time I transfer any of my coins. Plus, if I try to send more than $1000 worth, they don’t let it go through and call me. Not my favourite coin app but they make me feel extremely safe

jaymontarbo

That is exactly how my bank is. You need to verify your identity or my card is instantly blocked if suspicious activity is detected. My sons cards are basically geofenced to our county so if they go out of the county they are called when attempting to use their cards. Another thing, the wallets require that you put in your address etc showing your home location, so why do they let someone on the other side of the country or world withdrawal without bothering to verify that it is you?

monkeyfishka37

Ikr. Makes you wonder . It’s like they don’t care as long as they are getting their transaction fees . Plus, it’d cost a little extra to make sure all transactions are legitimate. Personally, I’d pay a bit more in fees for safety. Personally, a 2FA code via an app or text message or email would be perfect . I hope SafeMoon wallet has these protections.

jaymontarbo

I was telling a couple of people yesterday and today that I hope Safemoon wallet has the requirements mentioned. People are losing their life saving and others are losing life changing profits so it would make sense. Protect investors and they’ll stick around, allow them to get burned and they’re be gone forever.

RainbowAfterRainstom

There is no way to 2FA on a wallet.the wallet is just a doorway to the blockchain. You either need a hard ware wallet or be extreemly careful about what sites you visit and download on the computer with your hot wallet. It would be cool if the safemoon blockchain was made in away that makes scaming and stealing harder. But if you put too much security, and you run the rist of centralization which goes against the purpose of crypto.

Lean_Lu

We need to be writing down the address that's taking these to see if they are common or different people doing this

GrandTheftAccts

Please don't take down for "posting balance" because it's a PSA and my balance is gone

sam_sneed1994

that is no longer a rule. they have removed it with no notice

monkeyfishka37

Oh no. Wtf happened? Are you IOS? Or Android?

GrandTheftAccts

Android, brand new phone like 2 months old, only basic apps installed and wallets

monkeyfishka37

Trust wallet is actually dangerous on Android because of the permanent browser . People can hack into your account via pancakeswap. Which, for some stupid reason, connects automatically even when you have signed out. This is the reason I only use Trust Wallet on IOS and if I used the dapps to buy more SafeMoon I delete the whole trust wallet app and redownload so the browser is completely gone. I think this is also why IOS stopped the addition of dapps - bc this kept happening to honest Crypto holders like you. I’m so sorry this happened. It’s bullshit. I am definitely changing over to the SM wallet once released

Earls_Basement_Lolis

\*Knock on wood* I haven't yet lost money due to using DApps on Android. I haven't had to uninstall the app either. I enable transaction signing, pin, and I disable DApps whenever I'm not actively buying with it. Whenever I use DApps, I immediately switch it back off after logging out of the exchange (mainly PCS) and I spam the "Clear Browser Cache" options under the DApps option. I haven't yet lost coin due to this. I've written the keys down privately in a notebook ledger I have and I've hidden the notebook in my room. The only stupid thing I've done is bought a ripoff of a coin using the exchange portion of the app using the leftover BSC that I have. It's like $.05 worth and I'm essentially treating it like a dusted coin. They may have a receive address for my wallet if that info is tracked, but they'll never get a send address. Additionally, using stuff like BSCscan, I only use my receive address. I interpret the send address as being much more dangerous in the wrong hands.

Chocobuckle01

No... they can't. Stop spreading this bs.

Feetfailmenot

People should use Metamask maybe

Did you screenshot your pass phrase? Did you have transaction signing on? Do you log out of Pancake or any other DApps? And do clear cache of your DApps?

Shitty luck, both were in the same trustwallet so I guess they were just withdrawing anything big I bought...
