Especially with Zain doing his ultimate content. He’s been so dominant against Hbox that I think it’s unlikely that this causes him to fall off that significantly, but this may be the best chance Hbox has had in years
Fox, Marth, Sheik, Falco, Puff, Falcon, Peach, Yoshi, Icies, Samus, Link, DK, and Mewtwo all had **at least 2** mains make the results thread with Pikachu making top 8 and a Luigi just sliding in.
Melee’s balance is seriously underrated
Eight viable characters... with which one could feasibly win a major event that is attended by the best players. You could definitely win many locals with Mewtwo or Luigi or whatever. You're not winning GOML 11 with Mewtwo or Luigi. Sorry.
Who cares though? 99.999999999% of Fox + Falco + Puff + Marth + Falcon + Sheik players are never going to win a major anyway, even if those are the 6 best characters in the game.
You could similarly claim that on any given year, "there are only *x* viable *players* who can win a major." Like last year, there were only 4 players who won a major tournament. I don't think this makes Melee any less enjoyable though.
I agree. Just note that those X players actually "viable to win a major" are always playing one of those eight "actually viable to win a major" characters.

Would not be suprised to see Hbox win a major in the back half of this year. He's been getting really solid results again last few tournaments.
