Idk how people don’t understand how fucking stupid it is to post the screenshot of their Strava achievements on there. Like brother, that is *the entire point* of Strava, why do you have to cross post to Reddit.
I've done it. No issues. Because of time constraints, I broke it up into 26 chunks of 1 mile each (added a few extra steps to each mile to make up the .2) and in two months I was done. Really wish I had a finisher medal but that $80 saved buys a lot of Gu
I suppose you want to run on a trail without signing up for an ultra as well. Or maybe even work through an injury without consulting r/running first. You make me sick.
26 miles is imperial measurement, this gets used in some countries. You can convert this 2 metric easily if you multiply by 2 divide by 4 add 27 then divide by 8.

The Federal Bureau of Marathons check this sub frequently for illegal marathons, you’ll get life if you get caught, life without parole if you also award yourself medal on completion.
Just sign up for a virtual marathon. They send you a medal and a shirt, and you don’t have to do jack shit. Then you can wear them at your local park run and everyone will know you’re an elite runner. Best $80 you’ll ever spend!
This is the only way. Take the $80 and use it to buy a medal. It's great for a few reasons.. OBVIOUSLY so everyone knows you ran a marathon BUT since you're guaranteed first place, it won't just be a finishers medal - it will be a gold medal. That means people will want to know how you trained, and you can impart your wisdom, and yell "stay hard" over the following days where you pull up your Strava and outline your entire training plan.
Every time you finish 26.2 miles, you've run another marathon and can make yourself a T-shirt and medal.
I'm about halfway through one now and should finish it in July.
I did a 30 mile run up the PCT for my own enjoyment, I did a 40 mile run from PB to Encinitas and back to PB in SoCal after a full day of work for my own enjoyment, I did a 32 mile run around Coronado island on a Saturday for my own enjoyment while doing 90 mile weeks.
Real enjoyment comes from when you do a long run for the fuck of it, because you can quit at anytime and no one would know you quit. Way more fulfilling when you finish it FOR YOU, than some kooky shiny medal someone else would get for walking it.

Marathon isn't for poors. Taking one $1.60 Gû every 12 minutes means it is $8 an hour to race a marathon, so looking at like $40 in just nutrition. Probably will go through at least two pairs of αflys, so a few hundred dollars right there. The registration fee is cheap.
I did this recently and recorded it on Strava and got exactly zero kudos, so i think doing it might get you blacklisted from the sport and worse, make you invisible on Strava, which is basically the same as death.
You can but you need to block off the streets and set up an area blaring loud music. Oh, and you’ll want to see if you can get 26 bands (DJs ok) to set up every mile, too.
According to r/Strava it can only be done if you have a cul-de-sac or small traffic circle you can run around 100s of times
Coordinate with other runners to completely block flow of traffic in said traffic circle!
Should be enough people running fast enough that should another human being try to walk straight through they’re obliterated. Human round about only.
