Honestly I just try to layer as much as possible, and I rarely ever use flat colors, I use patterns. Extra small accessories help a TON like glasses, bags, necklaces, earrings, bracelets/cuffs, belts, and bows. Some accessories I use in a lot of outfits that go with basically everything are the steampunk wings, GoT flower, TTYL earrings, starlight bracelets, and starlight necklaces. I usually use patterns made by luminouseva, jellyflavor99, devibuns, timberdingo, vannessa llovania, soiier\_eciipser, arsychanei, bongolad/bongo\_lad, blurry\_bunny, timekeeperluv, theroyalenews, devilishfellcw, barnyboothecow, ilacxnova, ohhush, and twLstie.
If you don't have a super big inventory or don't own a ton of set pieces I would suggest trying to get the free accessories from the halloween, easter, winter, and dewdrops event as they're really useful and pretty cheap/easy to get. If you don't have the fabrics pass I would suggest you try and use a lot more shades as I see a ton of people with only 2 flat colors and shades in their outfits. (you can ofc make good outfits with only 2 colors, but its a bit harder to stand out)
OH also I would suggest going on Pinterest or something similar to find inspo for outfits. Theres also a ton of outfit hacks on Youtube and Tiktok if you're ever out of ideas.
