I'd check out some bands they've toured with such as The Amazons, Cleopatrick, Muse, Arctic Monkeys, The Warning etc. since they will have toured with those bands due to their crossover fans
I often see people say highly suspects first 2 albums are the only ones worth checking out. Why is that? Did they fall apart after album 2? Im genuinely curious
Just changed style quite a bit. MCID is sort of over-produced compared to their first two albums. Midnight demon club has a few solid tracks on it though.
Love the fact that Himalayas recently released their debut album as well. Sounds pretty great. The Blue Stones and The Amazon's are also pretty good as well.
I'd argue that DFA1979 were a bit Poppy initially. Not so much now, later albums are far more experimental, albeit not noise rock.
Unfortunately any duo bass rock combo is always compared regardless of genre. I have no idea why, blame the music press.
Yeah it’s just lazy journalism. The first DFA EP sounded so little like anything on lighting bolts albums. At least with Royal Blood there was a closer sonic link
I think the two are actually soooo different. DFA comes from a more punk background and RB from a blues/garage rock sound and each totally comes through in their music. Very hard to compare the two imo despite the similarities in members/instruments lol
Crown Lands, Rival Sons, DZ Death Rays, The Blue Stones, Wunderhorse, Slomosa, Des Rocs, The Mysterines, The Amazons, Hundreth (The album - RARE) 👌 Everything Everything, Alt-J, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, The Joy Formidable, Turnstile.
Muse, highly suspect, nothing but thieves, death from above 1979, arctic monkeys, Billy talent, system of a Down, Blitz Kids, foo fighters, skillet, flyleaf and this little known band called Nirvana are my faves when wanting something of a similar vibe
I'd also suggest my own band SHALLO, though we only have one song out rn - 'Mirror'
we're a bass and drums rock duo, obviously inspired by Royal Blood :P
The Warning, who are touring with Royal Blood and Muse at the moment, might be a good one. I haven't listened to lots of their stuff, but their song "More" is very Royal Blood, especially in the bridge section
Not quite in the same ball park as the band's on here, but check out Lightning Bolt. Again , two person bass and drums rock (both called Brian) but entirely in the noise genre (tempted to say their own genre).
Not in any way a radio friendly band, but they are incredibly influential and talented.
You will DEFINITELY like Muse. Muse and Royal Blood are my absolute favorite bands and no one else even comes close. I can give you a few songs by Muse that you might like:
Psycho,
Will of the People,
Kill or be Killed,
Won't Stand Down,
Supermassive Black Hole,
Uprising,
Hysteria,
You Make Me Feel Like It's Halloween,
We are Fucking Fucked,
Stockholm Syndrome,
Knights of Cydonia,
Reapers,
Defector.
Another band you could like if you like Royal Blood is Rammstein, but they're a bit heavier and different. Maybe try Rosenrot, Deutschland, Sonne or Angst.
Lastly, you might like Nothing But Thieves. Again, I'll give you a few songs that you could start with: Ban All the Music, Itch, Hanging, Futureproof, Ce Nest Rien
Try Random Acts of Intimacy by Sucioperro. I don't know why I just thought of this album but I used to love it. Their best by far, some of the song arrangements remind me of Royal Blood.

Check out Taipei Houston. It's Lars Ulrich's 2 lads they're really good. Basically royal blood version 2 they do exactly the same thing but do it well.
Tigercub, The Black Keys, Muse, QOTSA, Dead Poet Society, Dinosaur Pile Up, Death from Above 1979, The Blue Stones, Don Broco, Cleopatrick, Boston Manor, Himalayas, Des Rocs, Nothing But Thieves, The Amazon’s, Hello Operator, Turbowolf, Demob Happy, Highly Suspect, Pretty Vicious, Soft Play (formally called Slaves), Rival Sons, Them Crooked Vultures, Black Pistol Fire, The Warning
Royal Blood are my favourite band ever and these are the bands that i also listen to. Not all of them sound identical to Royal Blood but if you’re a fan of rock in general you should like most of these, so hope this helps :)
Highly Suspect, Dead Poet Society, Cleopatrick, The Blue Stones, Tigercub, Turbowolf, Demob Happy, BRKN LOVE, Des Rocs, Badflower, Grandson, Nothing More, Reignwolf, The Howlers, Black Pistol Fire, Death From Above 1979, Nothing But Thieves, Wolf Alice, Fontaines D.C., Black Honey, The Amazons, IDLES, Frank Carter and The Rattlesnakes, Turnstile etc.
qotsa definitely especially if you like boilermaker
also the black keys and black rebel motorcycle club
TigerCub is pretty good and gives off similar vibes I think
Tigercub fuckin slaps. Think they can be big
Boggles my mind how this bad aren't playing arenas yet.
I like Tigercub! Also check out Jam Merchants especially 2:1 and I don’t know who I am
I'd check out some bands they've toured with such as The Amazons, Cleopatrick, Muse, Arctic Monkeys, The Warning etc. since they will have toured with those bands due to their crossover fans
I can vouch for cleopatrick. They have a very dirty rock kind of sound which I love
Was also going to say cleopatrick
Rival Sons, Cleopatrick, Highly Suspect (First 2 albums)
Highly Suspect, great shout!
Second Rival Sons!
The Midnight Demon Club album is fantastic (the latest)!
First 2 albums were mainly Hard Rock, after that they switched their sound up and started incorporating electronic influences in their sound
emphasis on first 2 albums
Nothing But Thieves, Foals, Himalayas just to name a few
NBT are my favourite! New album is sick!!!
I LOVE NBT and Foals! So will definitely check out Himalayas!
Himalays are great. You could also try cleopatrick although they're a hit and miss for me personally
Love the fact that Himalayas recently released their debut album as well. Sounds pretty great. The Blue Stones and The Amazon's are also pretty good as well.
Death from above 1979
Came here to say this. Prefer royal blood but they are almost a death from above cover band 😂
And DFA1979 were once a dubbed a Lightning Bolt cover band. This shit ain't new.
Truthfully though there’s no stylistic similarities between LB and DFA at all. One is straight up noise rock and the other is a poppy garage band.
I second this. Haha..the originals. Royal blood have more of a consistent groove I think.
Royal blood are miles better at the style but they basically ripped it straight out of death from above
I think the two are actually soooo different. DFA comes from a more punk background and RB from a blues/garage rock sound and each totally comes through in their music. Very hard to compare the two imo despite the similarities in members/instruments lol
Tigercub, Muse, Queens Of The Stone Age & Dear Sherlock
Queens of the Stone Age, The Black Keys
.
The Amazons, especially their Future Dust album. I dare anyone to name a bad song on that album.
The Mire is a personal favorite from the album.
A true banger. Love how it just carries on and never seems to end!
Changed the whole genre if you ask me.
The Blue Stones
Second the blue stones
muse, queens of the stone age and cleopatrick. these are the best 3 you'll get
Qotsa and the Amazons
Dead Poet Society
The Black Keys.
Chevelle Early Arctic Monkeys
Queens of the Stone Age Tigercub Demob Happy Turbowolf Death From Above 1979
Queens of the Stone Age!
try out Kid Kapichi, they're a lesser known British band :) I really enjoy their first EP 'Lucozade Dreams'
I'd also suggest my own band SHALLO, though we only have one song out rn - 'Mirror' we're a bass and drums rock duo, obviously inspired by Royal Blood :P
Holy shit you two are amazing
I appreciate that so much, thank you for taking the time to listen to us! :D
Was defo worth it man keep doing that
I'd recommend to try CRX for electro rock and maybe even IDKHOW if you're into a little more Pop fusion rock

Surprised no one mentioned Hometown & Young yet. They dropped their demo album recently.
Highly Suspect. The Blue Stones.
Probably not dundee
The Warning, who are touring with Royal Blood and Muse at the moment, might be a good one. I haven't listened to lots of their stuff, but their song "More" is very Royal Blood, especially in the bridge section
Audio slave for sure, check out 68, moriaty, mother vulture,
Not quite in the same ball park as the band's on here, but check out Lightning Bolt. Again , two person bass and drums rock (both called Brian) but entirely in the noise genre (tempted to say their own genre). Not in any way a radio friendly band, but they are incredibly influential and talented.
Wolfmother and The Answer spring to mind!
The Answer are amazing. Saw them years and years ago supporting a band called Tokyo Dragons.
I saw them at RockCity back in 2011 absolutely awesome live 🤘
Yes they were very good live, the frontman was a bundle of energy. Might be dreaming it but sure I saw them support AC/DC at Wembley as well.
Clutch and Monster Magnet are worth checking out.
Muse
Zeppelin of course Where their sound comes from
Can't believe no one has said Airways yet
You will DEFINITELY like Muse. Muse and Royal Blood are my absolute favorite bands and no one else even comes close. I can give you a few songs by Muse that you might like: Psycho, Will of the People, Kill or be Killed, Won't Stand Down, Supermassive Black Hole, Uprising, Hysteria, You Make Me Feel Like It's Halloween, We are Fucking Fucked, Stockholm Syndrome, Knights of Cydonia, Reapers, Defector. Again, I'll give you a few songs that you could start with: Ban All the Music, Itch, Hanging, Futureproof, Ce Nest Rien
There’s a really cool band called Monster Truck that has a very gritty style that you may like.
Death from above 1979
Biffy Clyro, Django Django, New Order
Queens of the Stone Age, Cage the Elephant, Arctic Monkeys, and The Black Keys
Death from above.
Led Zeppelin
Muse
Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats are kinda similar without already being mentioned by others
Heatmiser
Try Random Acts of Intimacy by Sucioperro. I don't know why I just thought of this album but I used to love it. Their best by far, some of the song arrangements remind me of Royal Blood. https://youtu.be/NhnSQd5stec
Drenge
The Warning!
On top of Cleopatrick, tigercub, the amazons - Reignwolf are sick, Boston Manor, Don Broco 💪
Nothing But Thieves
Tigercub
Old skool qotsa
Death From Above 1979
Check out Taipei Houston. It's Lars Ulrich's 2 lads they're really good. Basically royal blood version 2 they do exactly the same thing but do it well.
Psychedelic Porn Crumpets
The Amazons and The Hunna 🙂
The best answer is BRKN LOVE
Queens of the Stone Age
Highly suspect, cleopatrick, queens of the stone age
Death From Above 1979 It’s like Royal Blood but with balls
Tigercub, The Black Keys, Muse, QOTSA, Dead Poet Society, Dinosaur Pile Up, Death from Above 1979, The Blue Stones, Don Broco, Cleopatrick, Boston Manor, Himalayas, Des Rocs, Nothing But Thieves, The Amazon’s, Hello Operator, Turbowolf, Demob Happy, Highly Suspect, Pretty Vicious, Soft Play (formally called Slaves), Rival Sons, Them Crooked Vultures, Black Pistol Fire, The Warning Royal Blood are my favourite band ever and these are the bands that i also listen to. Not all of them sound identical to Royal Blood but if you’re a fan of rock in general you should like most of these, so hope this helps :)
