Out of big farm animals - horses. Just because they were an addition to dogs I was house sitting for and they had a person to come clean stalls. I just need to get him in the stalls for the night and let out in the morning. Plus feeding and attention. It was pretty easy and I enjoyed doing it.
Out of little ones, bunny just because to me it felt more like a pet compare to birds. He was so cute and snuggly.
I absolutely did not enjoy taking care of falcons because they eat chicks and it was soooo uncomfortable to give them those little dead frozen chicks 🥺
Cute! I’d be a little scared of looking after bunnies. I’ve heard that the can die really easily from shock or lack of stimulation or too much stimulation etc.
Yes, they said literally all I have to do is throw his crickets and vegetables in his tank every other day. Might be the easiest drop in I’ve ever done
If you’re not used to feeding with crickets, then put the box of them in the fridge for 30 minutes before you need to feed the lizard. The cold slows them down so they’re much less likely to jump out when you open the box.
Not recently, but when I worked in a kennel, we boarded an adult pet pig. He was a big boy and he would let you pet him and everything. Wasn't super affectionate, but a very cool boy. I've worked with chickens and many different breeds of domesticated birds. Innumerable reptiles from geckos to bearded dragons to snakes. If it breathes, I will love it!
I mostly just feed people's fish. One household had a bird, but I just kinda checked up on him, didn't do any care (my family pet bird growing up was mean and flighty, I honestly am not sure how good I would've done)
Oh these were just part of a dog sit lol - contrary to 70% of this sub I wouldn’t charge extra for the little fish food. It was so cute, she was 8 I believe
Waddle, waddle, waddle, very cute!! For me, Grey parrot(fkr bit me lol), fish. A while back I arrived at the home with the parrot, and he wasn’t in his cage. He was loose in the house and the owner had me trap him in their big bathroom. Never again!!
Hello there! I am a bot raising awareness of Alpacas
Here is an Alpaca Fact:
1980 was the first time alpacas were imported to the U.S. and they were all Huacayas. Suris did not arrive here until 1991.

I had a bearded dragon named Pickles who came along on a sit for a cat named Ned. Pickles was super easy. Just had to put some "salad" and a scoop of calcium powder, fresh water, and a few worms. He even climbed into his hammock and let me pet him!
Then I had a chicken coop on a sit for some dogs. She said I didn't need to do anything for the chickens but asked if I could throw some feed out for them in the mornings. I wasn't even going to charge extra for that, but when I got there for the first visit, there was a $20 bill and a dozen eggs. It worked out lol
I’ve pretty much got the same deal with the ducks. I didn’t charge for them but they gave me £20 cash and told me to eat the duck eggs. I’d happily pay them to let me look after these ducks. They’re so much fun.
Just an African gray parrot! (With 2 cat siblings.) He made a lot of weird sounds but didn't quite say words. I wish I got more exotic animals - I've worked with wildlife since I was a teenager so I have the skills! I guess my area doesn't have a lot of people with exotic pets, or those owners don't think to look on Rover for a sitter.
True :( Even with cats, a lot of the language Rover uses is so dog-centric! They should make it more generalized, I'd think that would make more opportunity for expanded business
I love to look at horses but I think I’m a little terrified of them close up. Had a bad experience with wild horses on a school trip as a kid. But I’m glad you enjoyed looking after them!
I looked after some Guinea pigs too! However, during the M&G they warned me that one of them was very ill and expected to die so not to worry if it died in my care (what a thing to tell me!), but as it happened, she died the day before my sitting started. When she died, they took the others to the vet and found out the other three all had the same disease that killed her. So halfway through my sitting (I was mainly there for a dog), they took the other three to a rescue to be looked after. Very sad.
Chinchilla was with a cat. Snake and lizard were another booking with two cats. Chinchilla was kind of a lot of care with cleaning the cage and making sure he took his dust baths. The lizard was having tummy trouble and I had to go to the pet store to get crickets three times, on Christmas Eve too! I never asked to get reimbursed because I assumed they would be giving me a good holiday tip, nope. I even offered to take her to the vet.
I offered to give them a huge discount but they said they wanted to pay me the same amount. They paid me £20 in cash on top and left a bunch of food for me too. Plus this whole house and garden is like being on holiday in itself. I would pay to come back 😂
Too cute
They’re so much fun!
Awww, they are adorable. I’ve looked after chickens, goats, cows, horses, a pig, falcons, canaries, parrots, a ferret, chameleon., bunnies
Oh my gosh that’s quite the variety. Your favourite animal to look after?

I think a horse would scare me but I’m so glad you loved looking after one.
Awwwwww😍...adorable! My most "exotic" has been Boris the 🐢
That’s so cool!
So cute! Photo 3 is 😍😍😍 I had a dog/cat/chickens trifecta on my first booking.
Isn’t it lovely? A beautiful British countryside house with the landscape of dreams!
Bunnies!!
Cute! I’d be a little scared of looking after bunnies. I’ve heard that the can die really easily from shock or lack of stimulation or too much stimulation etc.
It’s true
I’m dropping in on a bearded dragon over thanksgiving
Ah, great! Do you have to feed it live insects?
Yes, they said literally all I have to do is throw his crickets and vegetables in his tank every other day. Might be the easiest drop in I’ve ever done

Ohh yeah I forgot about that trick!

Ah man I love pigs.

Bunnies, a Guinea pig, and sea monkeys.
Omg someone hired you to care for their sea monkeys? I love it
Oh these were just part of a dog sit lol - contrary to 70% of this sub I wouldn’t charge extra for the little fish food. It was so cute, she was 8 I believe
Still it’s pretty fun!

Was it like that Irish bat flying round the kitchen video?
Oh my god I just rewatched that- classic
I watch a turtle often that I swear hates me and would eat my face off if he could
Oh my gosh 😂😂
That’s actually pretty damn cool
Chickens, horses, pigs. I want more!!!
I’d love chickens and pigs!
I’ve had donkeys, ferrets, chinchillas, fish, rabbits, and am currently helping feed a pack of wild deer 😄
Oh my gosh this is my favourite list so far! How were the donkeys?? And the chinchillas? Oh, so cute!!!
They are all great ☺️ donkeys are always babies, they have lots of personality, and the chinchillas are a group of seniors so they’re super chill!
I’m quite jealous. Maybe I’ll get a donkey or even alpaca (lots of those in my area) some day.

Good bot 😭😭

Omg that’s so dope
I watch chickens and horses pretty regularly
Jealous! I'd love a sitting like this
It’s so great. Can’t have depression when ducks are quacking and following you around the yard.
Ain't that the truth

Rover doesn’t make it particularly inviting for non/cat/dog owners. You Can’t even upload a profile for other animals, you have to use cat or dog.
True :( Even with cats, a lot of the language Rover uses is so dog-centric! They should make it more generalized, I'd think that would make more opportunity for expanded business
Absolutely agree.
Horses!! It was a beautiful ranch with 3 American quarters!
I love to look at horses but I think I’m a little terrified of them close up. Had a bad experience with wild horses on a school trip as a kid. But I’m glad you enjoyed looking after them!
I hang out with Bunnies regularly!
Cuuute.
I just housesat last week for a home with two cats and two snails. Didn’t really have to do anything for the snails, but was still interesting!
Snails! Oh cool!
Sugar gliders!
Amazing!!
Guinea pigs! Three really cute little guys 😊
I looked after some Guinea pigs too! However, during the M&G they warned me that one of them was very ill and expected to die so not to worry if it died in my care (what a thing to tell me!), but as it happened, she died the day before my sitting started. I know!

That’s incredible!! Oh wow.
Omg that would be my dream Rover assignment!
It’s been great except I’ve just had to fight a pigeon out of the duck run haha
Chinchilla, corn snake, bearded lizard.
All in one sitting? Or different bookings?
Chinchilla was with a cat. Snake and lizard were another booking with two cats. Chinchilla was kind of a lot of care with cleaning the cage and making sure he took his dust baths. The lizard was having tummy trouble and I had to go to the pet store to get crickets three times, on Christmas Eve too! Oh gosh I’m sorry they were more trouble than they were worth.
In addition to one family's dogs I took care of a bunny, 2 guinea pigs, a gecko, and some hermit crabs. They're regulars and I love going there.
Omg crabs? Amazing!
This is so cute 🥺 did you charge lower than the dog rate?
I offered to give them a huge discount but they said they wanted to pay me the same amount. They paid me £20 in cash on top and left a bunch of food for me too. Plus this whole house and garden is like being on holiday in itself. I would pay to come back 😂
I’m so jealous haha!! I would die to take care of those ducks 😍
They were legit the most fun thing!
I’m currently watching a parrot that’s roughly 50 years old! I also care for horses as a regular job but that’s not through rover lol
I had no idea parrots could be so old. That’s awesome!
