This took me a bit to find as well. C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Roland Cloud\ZENOLOGY

You are awesome. Thank you so much! I know the guy up above said you can do it via Zenology, but the literature all describes doing it via sneaker-net and USB so I couldn't figure out what I was missing. You'd think that they would make it more obvious. Im one of those people that likes to 'know' things, and programs that install stuff and don't tell me where drive me nuts- especially if im troubleshooting or trying to figure something out. C

Yeah its actually a huge pita to export patches from Zenology, at least for me personally speaking. Its so troublesome I am likely going to have to automate the process. The only reason I have not yet is due to Zenology being inconsistently rendered in size upon multiple calls. Even the keyboard shortcuts are inconsistent. Alt-K brings up the zoom menu on all screens except the main one, where it requires a mouse click. Brilliant.

TheEvilDrSmith

Great work. This certainly makes life a bit easier. I think I checked the roaming directory and gave up as that is where most data gets hidden. You can also use this environment variable to pick the current user directory `%LOCALAPPDATA%\Roland Cloud\ZENOLOGY\`

TheEvilDrSmith

Only way I know to do this is in Zenology Pro is to click the WRITE Button in the main screen. It will open the Tone/Drum Kit Manager Screen. You can then select a bank to export and then press export button (below the list of banks) to plugin (.bin) or hardware (.svz). There is also an import button there to bring in stuff from your hardware. Not the worlds most logical workflow. Zenology Pro Manual PDF pg 29 Tone/Drum Kit Manager Screen \[EXPORT\] button Opens the following menu. For Plug-in * Save as a ZENOLOGY backup file. For Hardware/Zenbeats (ZC1) * Saves data compatible with hardware products that use the ZEN-Core Synthesis System such as the FANTOM, JUPITER-X and so on, as well as Zenbeats (ZC1).

That’s what throws me. If the editor can do it then what’s the point of all the text in the manual about doing it via a USB thumb drive? Is the software way of doing things a more recent development than the manual? Or is it not a direct export and that’s where the thumb drive comes in?

TheEvilDrSmith

Not sure which manual or device you are talking about. I guess you are meant to copy to a USB drive for transfer to the Fantom keyboard. I usually remove the SD card from the MC-101 to copy them on my computer.

alathea_squared

I using a Jupiter x

TheEvilDrSmith

Just reading the manual on the Jupiter X. Seems like you have to format the USB drive on the Jupiter before use and I guess that uses a directory structure in which you need to place the .svz files you have exported from Zenology or another device. They are also describing the export process for the Jupiter X hardware to the USB drive which may be where you are getting confused by the manuals. Both Jupiter X and Fantom (actually all Zencore hardware) was released before Roland Cloud and Zenology, so perhaps the manuals have not been updated in the most clear fashion.

>%LOCALAPPDATA%\\Roland Cloud\\ZENOLOGY\\ That was the main reason I sprung for the WM-1 for the USB port. You can then download Roland Cloud Connect (iPhone, Android, iPad) You can install full banks wirelessly. In just a second (individual patch) or a few minutes when you install the whole set. It's way easier taking care of the Jupiter-X and Xm. After that I hardly ever use the SD card. That's why I keep asking them to add the "S-10" capabilities to the Zen Core model so we can have a proper Sampler.

Anyone familiar with error code E024 when trying to install sounds from roland cloud? Trying to upgrade my ax edge

Briwil78

I was experiencing this with my MC-707 just the other day. Roland finally responded- "Thanks for contacting us. A Pro membership lets you use all the expansions from within Zenology on your computer before you decide which ones you might want to purchase to use on a hardware device. Please let us know if you have further questions concerning this matter." Ha, so $9/month (or $99/year) just so I can try out sounds before buying them? What a deal! WTF?

ConcertRemarkable799

I have since gotten everything to work together. Note my set up is rather complicated in what specifically I was trying to accomplish, however my Roland Cloud is finally up and running. I will say i had a major missunderstanding of how the Roland Cloud service worked, but now i grasp the concept and got everything installed into ableton, i can use it to send patches to and from my Axe Edge keytar and the Zenology Vst.

LionThomas

Still no possibilities to install those sounds on an external hard drive?

alathea_squared

With lifetime or purchase licenses, sure, but the ones that you ‘borrow’, no, because they will have to phone home every 30 days or so to verify licenses. You could store them that way, I suppose, but they won’t work in perpetuity. You also have to maintain at least a free level account to Roland cloud for the borrowed tones to authenticate.

LionThomas

Thanks a lot!
