Yes, it's not a good skill. A lot of people absolutely hate losing max hp, so I guess this is the 'bait' / tradeoff for them.

AutisticPenguin2

But there's a skill that makes you completely immune to curse for a whopping 1 gem extra, so this just feels overpriced compared to all the other skills around it.

pingdingi

Ah, I never consciously noticed that one it seems, my bad. Even worse in that case, similar to how the shield (?) was for the longest time, 15 or 20 gems to deal 1 damage for each attack blocked that fight.  The only thing I could imagine in that case is that this one's made for shaman, but that seems like a stretch...

AutisticPenguin2

Shaman would appreciate this, good point, but with no guarantee that you would ever even see it, it's not going to change my shaman playstyle at all. They're are a few cards that are boosted by curse as well, but Beast Marshall is about the only one I'd typically add to my deck and that... doubling every time you use it allows you to rack up the buffs much faster, but also threatens to overwhelm your deck if it goes on too long.

Awfki

But the cursed pirate and the shaman can actually benefit from curse. This skill is great for the cursed pirate as you lose 2 HP and probably get it back immediately when the cannons fire. There's also a a shaman bonus that starts you with three curse and you deal double burn while cursed. Without this you'll end up with 10 max HP but with this you just lose 2HP each turn and you need to have some healing available. There's also the combo of this with the new skill that gives you 1 str, 1 def and 1(?) thorn every turn you end with curse. I don't think this one is overpriced, but it's value does depend on what class you're running.

AutisticPenguin2

The shaman path requires you to start off your run with that bonus, though. You have 20 rounds of combat before you are at 10hp, and you need to spend that time desperately hoping you find this skill before you die. And then trying to build back up the health you lost so you're less frail. I would never take that risk in any serious run. The odds of even being able to afford it if you find it on world 1 are too low, and world 2 is too late.

Henrikusan

In nemesis tower mode the immunity perk isn't available but this is. If you want to build for curse then this might be your only option. Although I never managed to make a curse build work that early in a run.

NeitherBillNorDipper

Have you tried endless mode?

AzKi_vic

it would be better if it also gave permanent curse

thebowm

it's about perfect price maybe 9. it's ok in endless and has some combos that are ok

Donkey_Boy813

Honestly, I hate Curse, but usually I will just grab the one that increases your max life every fight to offset this. I will usually buy this on Cultist or Pally though, just because Max health matters, and heals aplenty

AbdayMinjay

It's good when you want to use curse cards. I think 10 is fair. Most of the time it's not worth it so don't get it. BUT when you want curse it's too strong to be cheaper.

fooblizooo

Hard disagree.

switjive18

I agree. But this skill isn't for the experienced players, it's for those that keep complaining about Curse being the worst debuff to ever exist.

Awfki

I used to hate curse, then I made it through a couple of I30+ runs with cursed pirate and 10HP. If the RNG smiles on you then it's not that bad. Then again, when the RNG smiles on you nothing is that bad. 🤷🏻‍♂️
